British boy band McFly scored its fifth UK No. 1 single yesterday as the double-sided "Don't Stop Me Now" and "Please Please" (Universal), the official single of the Comic Relief charity's Sport Relief 2006 initiative, went straight to the top. In an all-new album top three, Razorlight's self-titled sophomore set for Vertigo/Universal debuted at the summit, ahead of new releases by Lily Allen and Paolo Nutini.

McFly's five chart-toppers have been achieved in just 27 months, dating back to "5 Colours in Her Hair" in April 2004. That was followed by "Obviously" (July 2004), "All About You"/ "You've Got a Friend" (March 2005), and "I'll Be OK" (August 2005). The trio is currently appearing in the movie Just My Luck with Lindsay Lohan and will begin an arena tour September 17 in Sheffield.

Rihanna's "Unfaithful" (Def Jam), which entered the singles chart on download sales at No. 16 last week, moved up to No. 2 after its physical release, just as two other tracks progressed into the top 10. British soul newcomer James Morrison's "You Give Me Something" (Polydor) shot 27-5, while Gnarls Barkley's "Smiley Faces" (Warner Bros.) zoomed 23-10. Red Hot Chili Peppers opened at No. 16 with "Tell Me Baby" while Christina Aguilera's "Ain't No Other Man" (RCA) debuted at No. 18.

Razorlight's second album immediately outdid its 2004 predecessor Up All Night, which has spent 69 weeks on the UK chart but peaked at No. 3. The new set includes the single "In the Morning," which reached No. 3 two weeks ago.

Lily Allen's Smile (Regal) came in at No. 2 after the single "Smile" topped the chart for two weeks and now falls to No. 4. Paolo Nutini's These Streets (Atlantic) started at No. 3 after the single "Last Request" reached No. 5, also two weeks ago.

Muse's Black Holes & Revelations (Helium 3/Warner Bros.), which was No. 1 for the last two weeks, fell to No. 5, while Thom Yorke's The Eraser (XL Recordings), new at No. 3 last week, slid to No. 18. The only other new entry in the top 40 marks a posthumous UK chart debut for Mali-born world music star Ali Farka Toure, who died in March after a long illness. Savane (World Circuit) was new at No. 34.

Muse holds the top spot on the European Top 100 Albums tally for a second week, while "Hips Don't Lie" (Epic) by Shakira featuring Wyclef Jean is No. 1 on the Eurochart Hot 100 Singles tally for the seventh week in a row, and ninth in total.
