Tokyo's subway authority green-lights nude Britney ad
Tokyo subway riders are about to get a whole lot of Britney Spears. The controversial cover of Harper's Bazaar magazine, showing a naked, pregnant, and brunette Spears, will be featured in a major subway station in Tokyo as an advertisement for the mag's October issue, in which the photo appears. Tokyo's subway authority had initially planned to censor the photos by obscuring Britney from the elbow down but changed its mind after lobbying from the mag. The ad, in which Spears bares her belly but covers her breasts with her hands, is the same one used in the August issue of the magazine's US edition. Spears is set to give birth to her second child with husband Kevin Federline next month.
Shakira, OK Go confirmed as VMA performers
With seven MTV Video Music Award nominations, there was little doubt that Shakira's hips would be shaking all over the stage at Radio City Music Hall next Thursday. OK Go will perform its song "Here It Goes Again" on treadmills, in a nod to a video for the track that has become an Internet sensation. As previously reported, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Panic! at the Disco, T.I., the Killers, Ludacris with Pharrell, the All-American Rejects, and the Raconteurs are also set to perform at the event.
MTV also added to its list of presenters, saying that Axl Rose, Kanye West, Diddy, LL Cool J, the Pussycat Dolls, Snoop Dogg, 50 Cent, Lindsay Lohan, and Paris Hilton will present awards. Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Rihanna, Ne-Yo, Lil Jon, Missy Elliott, and Evanescence's Amy Lee are also scheduled to make appearances at the event.

As previously reported, Vegoose will be held October 28-29 at Sam Boyd Stadium and will feature Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Widespread Panic, The Killers, The Mars Volta, Black Crowes, Fiona Apple, the Raconteurs, and the Roots, among others. Tickets are on sale at the festival's Web site.

Family of man allegedly killed by rapper Proof sues
After its first wrongful death lawsuit against the estate of D12 rapper and Eminem sidekick Proof was thrown out of court in May, the family of the man he allegedly killed is trying again. The family of Keith Bender, who Proof allegedly pistol-whipped and shot in the face at a Detroit Club in April--before another man allegedly shot and killed Proof--has filed another lawsuit against Proof's estate. The lawsuit, filed earlier this week in Wayne County Circuit Court, claims that Proof was liable for attacking and wounding Bender. Bender died from injuries sustained in the incident a week after it occurred. Proof died a few hours after the incident. The man who shot and killed Proof--real name Deshaun Holton--has been charged with carrying a concealed weapon and for discharging a firearm in a building, but he was not charged in the rapper's death after prosecutors determined he had acted in self-defense to protect his cousin Bender.
