Five-disc collection of Las vegas performances features Ol' Blue Eyes singing tracks like "Come Fly With Me," "My Way," and "Send In the Clowns."
Five previously unreleased Frank Sinatra concerts taped in Las Vegas throughout his storied career have been collected for the boxed set Sinatra: Vegas, due November 7 via archival label Rhino Records.
Disc one comprises cuts taped at the Sands hotel in November 1961, including classics like "Witchcraft," "River, Stay 'Way From My Door," and "The Lady Is a Tramp." Ol' Blue Eyes performs "Come Fly With Me" and "I've Got You Under My Skin," among many others, with Count Basie & His Orchestra on disc two, which was also recorded at the Sands in 1966.
Daughter Nancy Sinatra and Dean Martin can be heard on "Somethin' Stupid" from disc three, recorded at Caesar's Palace in March 1982. Pianist Bill Miller, who conducted all of the performances featured on Sinatra: Vegas, allowed jazz great Lou Levy to sit in on piano on disc four, which was recorded at an April 1987 concert at the Golden Nugget.
The DVD unearths a May 1978 show at Caesar's Palace, which includes "My Way," "America the Beautiful," and "Send In the Clowns," plus backstage footage.
