After a European tour later this year, pop diva will tour US arenas starting in late February.

Christina Aguilera is set to tour the US in support of her new album, Back to Basics, and she's giving her fans plenty of notice.

With a European tour that kicks off in the UK November 17, Aguilera today announced 41 stops at US arenas in the first part of 2007, kicking off in Houston February 20 and concluding May 5 in Sunrise, Florida.

Aguilera has tabbed two girl groups as opening acts. Danity Kane will open the shows, while the Pussycat Dolls will serve as the primary opening act. Aguilera was one of the group's guests when they were still performing as the Pussycat Doll Revue in Los Angeles.

Tickets for the US tour dates go on sale Saturday.

No word yet on Aguilera's much-hyped tour of US jazz/blues clubs.

"At a certain point, we are fitting in the more intimate blues/jazz club tour," she told MTV.com in September, "which I'm really excited about. It's going to be an amazing, amazing show that I can't wait to put on, but dates are to be determined for that whole shebang."

After Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera was the most popular female singer of the late-'90s teen pop revival. Unlike many of her contemporaries, Aguilera was a technically skilled singer with a genuinely powerful voice, belting out her uptempo dance numbers and ballads with a diva's panache. Born Christina Maria Aguilera on December 18, 1980,...

Pussycat Dolls Pussycat Dolls

Founded by choreographer Robin Antin in 1995, the Pussycat Dolls began as a burlesque dance revue based in Los Angeles, spawned a second revue in Las Vegas, grew into an A-list phenomena with a revolving cast of guest celebrities, and eventually became a recording act with a number one dance hit. It wasn't long after launching its revue that the...

Hundreds of contestants vied for a spot in Diddy's girp grup on MTV's smash reality series "Making the Band," and now the show's five victors--Dawn, Aubrey, D. Woods, Shanon and Aundrea--under the name Danity Kane, are preparing to take their musical partnership to the next level.

When Christina Aguilera released her garish, sexually charged sophomore effort, Stripped, in 2002, it seemed that she pushed her obsessions with tweaking taboos just a little too far. Sure, she could still sing, but her music was now driven entirely by skeletal club grooves and explicit carnality. It was a bold break from the teenybopper persona...
Pussycat Dolls "PCD"
Pussycat Dolls
There's a kind of beautifully perverse brilliance to the Pussycat Dolls. Not only are they a sextet who got their start as neo-burlesque dancers in Los Angeles, but they make no bones about being a gleefully manufactured dance-pop act. Open the booklet for their 2005 debut, PCD, and their artificiality is made clear: the first page reads "All...
