Rapper-turned-actor arrested at Bob Hope airport in Los Angeles for possession of firearm, transportation of marijuana.
Snoop Dogg, real name Calvin Broadus, exchanged gin and juice for a gun and weed yesterday, and needless to say, authorities were none too thrilled.
The rapper, actor, and part-time football coach was arrested and booked for possession of a firearm and transportation of marijuana at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank yesterday, reports the Los Angeles Times. Snoop was approached by police for a vehicle code violation while curbside at the airport, when officers on the scene found the contraband.
Snoop Dogg posted the $35,000 bail and was released, but will be arraigned at Burbank's Los Angeles Superior Court on December 12.
"There was no basis for this arrest," said Donald Etra, Snoop's lawyer, according to CNN. "We believe that once this is cleared up, all charges will be dismissed."
This is the second incident Broadus has faced this week at an airport named after a dead celebrity. Earlier this week, Snoop was discovered to be carrying a collapsible police baton while trying to board a flight out of Orange County's John Wayne airport. Charges have not yet been filed in that case.
One of the most successful rappers of all time, Snoop Dogg is set to release his latest album, Blue Carpet Treatment, featuring production with longtime collaborator Dr. Dre, in late November.
