"Promiscuous" singer unveils a series of spring 2007 tour dates across her native Canada; Timbaland, Timberlake, Coldplay's Chris Martin eyed as guests.
Nelly Furtado is looking to "Get Loose" on tour, and hopes to entice Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and even Coldplay's Chris Martin to join her.
The Canadian singer unveiled a series of Canadian tour dates today, adding a spring 2007 jaunt to her US dates with promises for shows in Europe, Japan, Australia, and Latin America as well.
"I love what I do for a living more than ever," Furtado told MTV News. "I'm really happy in this place, and I hope to make music my whole life. I can't wait to bring the show to the fans and thank them for sticking with me this whole time."
Furtado is set to conclude her US run with a December 16 show at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Florida. She'll then play nine dates in Canada starting March 21 at the Save on Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, British Columbia.
Furtado told MTV that she hopes to get several of her collaborators to make guest appearances at select dates. Martin, who cowrote Furtado's current single "All Good Things (Come To An End)," should get an invitation" to join her onstage for a duet of the song.
Plans to tour with Timberlake, with whom Furtado has recorded several unreleased tracks, were scrapped but the two plan to make appearances at select dates on one another's tours. And regular collaborator Timbaland will certainly be performing at several shows along the jaunt, she said.
"He toured a little bit with me on my Whoa Nelly tour," the singer said. "So I'm sure he'll come back and do his thing. We love performing together, so that should be fun."
As for Latin America, Juanes and reggaeton stars Calle 13 will likely get a call, Furtado said. Juanes and Furtado collaborated on "Te Busque" from the singer's smash Loose album, while Cale 13 remixed her "No Hay Igual."
Furtado told MTV that she got a taste of what's to come during a recent gig in Mexico City, where the audience knew the words to all of her songs and were even able to guess what the next song would be.
"I was overwhelmed with emotion," she said. "I was actually tearing up on stage. I had to get a grip! It got me really excited for next year.
