As "Irreplaceable" stays atop the single chart, singer is nominated for Best Actress for her performance in Dreamgirls.

B'Day, the title of Beyonce's latest album, just about sums up today for the 25-year-old diva.

Dreamgirls Dreamgirls

The singer landed a Best Actress Golden Globe nomination today for her role in the movie Dreamgirls, and her hit "Irreplaceable" continued its run atop the US singles chart.

Beyonce landed her first-ever Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of Deena Jones in the film adaptation of the 1981 hit musical Dreamgirls about a 1960s singing group loosely based on The Supremes. Beyonce's character is based on Diana Ross.

Beyonce's fellow nominees for best actress in a comedy or musical include Annette Benning in Running With Scissors, Toni Collette in Little Miss Sunshine, Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada, and Renee Zellwegger in Miss Potter.

Dreamgirls was also nominated for best motion picture in the comedy or musical category, where it will vie against Borat, The Devil Wears Prada, Little Miss Sunshine, and Thank You for Smoking.

"Listen," the lead song from Dreamgirls, is up for best original song in a motion picture, and Beyonce is credited with cowriting the song and its lyrics with Henry Krieger, Anne Preven, and Scott Cutler. The other nominees in the category are Seal's "A Father's Way" from The Pursuit of Happyness, the Mary J. Blige-sung/Bryan Adams-copenned "Never Gonna Break My Faith" from Bobby, Prince's "The Song of the Heart" from Happy Feet , and Sheryl Crow's "Try Not to Remember" from Home of the Brave.

The 64th Golden Globe Awards are to be handed out January 15 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and broadcast live on NBC.

Meanwhile, "Irreplaceable" stays atop the Hot 100 for a second week. The track is the tally's greatest airplay gainer for a sixth straight week, the first to achieve that distinction since 50 Cent's "Candy Shop" in 2005. "Irreplaceable" also sits at No. 1 on the Pop 100 for a second week and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for a third.

Akon's "I Wanna Love You" featuring Snoop Dogg is No. 2 on the big chart for a second week. Another Akon hit, "Smack That" featuring Eminem, falls 3-4, while Fergie's "Fergalicious" flip-flops with it, climbing 4-3.

"My Love" by Justin Timberlake featuring T.I. keeps the No. 5 position warm for a second week. Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right" rockets 12-6, a new peak, in its fifth week on the chart. Meanwhile, Gwen Stefani's "Wind It Up" slips 6-7 while Jim Jones' "We Fly High" ascends 10-8.

Mary J. Blige Mary J. Blige

When her debut album, What's the 411?, hit the street in 1992, critics and fans alike were floored by its powerful combination of modern R&B with an edgy rap sound that glanced off of the pain and grit of Mary J. Sheryl Crow's fresh, updated spin on classic roots rock made her one of the most popular mainstream rockers of the '90s. Destiny's Child have never quite seemed like a true group, possibly because Beyoncé Knowles always took the spotlight in the group's hits and videos. Seal
Besides taking his usual multi-year hiatus before releasing Seal IV, the artist scrapped a whole album's worth of material, feeling he couldn't stand behind the strength of the songs (should this be Seal IV.I?).
