New Jersey emo rockers are taking their concept album on tour, with Rise Against and Muse set to open.

My Chemical Romance will embark on quite a lengthy parade in late February.

The New Jersey emo rockers are taking their concept album, The Black Parade, on tour throughout the US, bringing Rise Against and Muse on tour as opening acts.

My Chemical Romance kicks off February 22 in Manchester, New Hampshire, and then moving down the East Coast before heading west and concluding March 16 in Reno, Nevada. The band said it will announce more dates in the coming weeks.

The band is touring in support of the widely praised Parade, billed as "an epic theatrical concept album about mortality." The band will perform part of the show as the Black Parade, the circuslike alter ego it adopts on the new album.

"We're going to retain the essence of a rock show," front man Gerard Way told Billboard. "It's not going to be like seeing [Pink Floyd's] The Wall. It's going to bring the music and the band and the record to life. It's going to be theatrical without detracting from [the music]; it's not going to be surface over substance."

Fans will be able to buy a limited number of tickets in a special fan-club presale starting today. The official on-sale date for tickets will be Saturday, January 6, 2007.

Before hitting the road in the US, My Chemical Romance has a series of shows Down Under as part of the Big Day Out festival, which tours through Australia and New Zealand.

It's going to be embarrassing for MCR, being blown away by the opening act every night.

It is a crime that Muse are merely the supporting act on this tour becuase, although I do quite like MCR, Muse are without a doubt the best live band in the world and most definitely leagues ahead of MCR.

Based in New Jersey, My Chemical Romance is an alternative pop/rock and punk-pop band that has been compared to Thursday and, to a lesser degree, Cursive. Their name was inspired by author Irvine Welsh (of Trainspotting fame), and while many of their songs are loud, fast, hyper, and aggressive, My Chemical Romance's work also tends to be melodic...

Rise Against Rise Against

Chicago's Rise Against began in 1999 when ex-88 Fingers Louie bassist Joe Principe tapped area vocalist Tim McIlrath for a new project rooted in the sound and social vision of traditionalist hardcore. Joined by fellow 88 Fingers vet Dan Precision on guitar and, eventually, drummer Brandon Barnes, Rise Against signed to Fat Wreck and issued The...

The English rock trio Muse consists of guitarist/vocalist Matthew Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme, and drummer Dominic Howard. Bored by the sleepy life provided by their hometown of Teignmouth, Devon, the three friends began playing music together. Rise Against
The Sufferer & the Witness finds Rise Against continuing on the path begun on 2004's well-received Siren Song of the Counter Culture. Their melodic hardcore may still sound more mainstream accessible, but this can hardly be looked at as a bad thing. After all, the band's sincerity and passion emerge very much intact -- their socially conscious...

Naysayers listen up. Teignmouth, England's Muse refuse to be your "next" Radiohead. Since forming in 1997, this alternative rock trio has continuously battled comparisons to the famed Oxford group while ambitiously creating a sound of their own. U.K. fans have praised the group since the albums "Sunburn" and "Hyper Music" despite it taking...
