Trojan Records compilation, Jonny Greenwood Is the Controller, is set to hit stores March 6.

Thom Yorke isn't the only Radiohead member spending his time between the band's recording sessions wisely.

Jonny Greenwood Jonny Greenwood

Guitarist/multiinstrumentalist Jonny Greenwood picked the tracks for the latest Trojan Records classic reggae compilation, which hits stores March 6.

Appropriately dubbed Jonny Greenwood Is the Controller, the 17-track comp features tracks from the likes of Lee "Scratch" Perry, Gregory Isaacs, Marcia Griffiths, the Heptones, and the late Desmond Dekker.

Greenwood spent six months listening to Trojan's seemingly limitless vault of reggae and dub recordings to pick the tracks. It follows previously released comps hand-picked by DJ Spooky and Don Letts. Trojan plans another comp chosen by Perry.

Although most people's initial musical exposure to Jonny Greenwood came via his hugely distorted guitar crunches on Radiohead's breakthrough single "Creep," Greenwood (not to be confused with his older brother/bass-playing bandmate Colin Greenwood) could be more appropriately described as Radiohead's jack-of-all-trades -- a multi-instrumentalist...

The varied sounds of Jonny Greenwood's score for the British documentary Bodysong will come as no surprise to hyper-attentive fans of Radiohead, whether they've devoured every interview with the multi-instrumentalist or have studied every detail of his contributions to that band. Thom Yorke "The Eraser"
Thom Yorke
The Eraser, Thom Yorke's first album away from Radiohead, is intensely focused and steady. It doesn't have the dynamics -- the shifts of mood, tempo, volume -- held by any Radiohead album, and it's predominantly electronic, so it's bound to rankle many of the fans who thought Kid A was too unhinged from rock & roll. It's definitely not the kind...

Lee "Scratch" Perry's eccentric persona often obscures the incredibly innovative approaches he brought to Jamaican music, and his kitchen-sink recording methods likewise cloak the very real vision behind his one-of-a-kind creations.
