R&B diva's "Irreplaceable" is top-selling song for sixth straight week, and it also sits atop the pop and R&B/hip-hop charts.
As it begins its sixth week in a row at the summit, Beyonce's "Irreplaceable" is proving to be just that on the Billboard Hot 100. The track is also No. 1 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for a seventh week and returns to crown the Pop 100 for a fourth non-consecutive week, after being displaced last week by Fergie's "Fergalicious."
Not only is "Irreplaceable" this week's greatest airplay gainer on the Hot 100, but it is also the best audience week of the singer's career and the second-best sum in the chart's history, with 196.3 million radio impressions. Only Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together" has bested that total; it garnered 212 million impressions during a week in July 2005.
Akon's "I Wanna Love You" featuring Snoop Dog climbs 4-2, while Akon's other single "Smack That" featuring Eminem drops 3-4. "Fergalicious" slips a notch 2-3, and Nelly Furtado's "Say It Right" achieves a new peak, up 10-5.
Justin Timberlake's "My Love" featuring T.I. holds on to the No. 6 spot for a second week. In its 39th week on the chart, the Fray's "How to Save a Life" descends 5-7, though it maintains its lead on the Adult Top 40 tally for a 12th week. Elsewhere on the Hot 100, Jim Jones' "We Fly High" falls 7-8 while My Chemical Romance's "Welcome to the Black Parade" enters the top tier 13-9. The All-American Rejects round out the top 10 with "It Ends Tonight," slipping from No. 8.
Only three new tracks debuted on the chart this week, with Academy Award-winners Three Six Mafia's "Doe Boy Fresh" featuring Chamillionaire the highest at No. 85. Gym Class Heroes' "Cupid's Chokehold" featuring Patrick Stump bows at No. 87, and Christina Aguilera's "Candyman" debuts at No. 99.
