Score for film starring Eric Bana and Drew Barrymore features a new song from Dylan and a rarity from Springsteen.

New music from Bob Dylan and a rarity from Bruce Springsteen anchor the soundtrack to Lucky You, a forthcoming poker-themed movie starring Eric Bana and Drew Barrymore.

Dylan, the rock icon who has garnered renewed acclaim in recent years, recorded a song called "Huck's Tune," chronicling the lead character's fight with his personal problems as he tries to win a high-stakes poker tournament in Las Vegas.

Springsteen offers up two older songs, "The Fever" and "Lucky Town," the latter of which is heard during the title sequence and the movie's trailer. Springsteen recorded "The Fever" in 1973, but rarely plays the song live. It was left out of the 1998 Springsteen retrospective Tracks, prompting groans from the Boss' avid listeners. It did, however, appear on 18 Tracks, a single-disc version of the boxed set.

The soundtrack also features music from Kris Kristofferson, Ryan Adams, George Jones, Shawn Colvin, Bonnie Raitt, and Barrymore, who plays an aspiring singer. The Lucky You soundtrack is due March 6 via Columbia, and will reach theaters 10 days later.

The Lucky You track listing:

I wonder if there are any references to Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn character in Bob Dylan's 'Huck's Tune'

Bob Dylan Bob Dylan

Bob Dylan's influence on popular music is incalculable. As a songwriter, he pioneered several different schools of pop songwriting, from confessional singer/songwriter to winding, hallucinatory, stream-of-conscious narratives. As a vocalist, he broke down the notions that in order to perform, a singer had to have a conventionally good voice,...

Bruce Springsteen Bruce Springsteen

When Bruce Springsteen finally broke through to national recognition in the fall of 1975 after a decade of trying, critics hailed him as the savior of rock & roll, the single artist who brought together all the exuberance of '50s rock and the thoughtfulness of '60s rock, molded into a '70s style. He rocked as hard as Jerry Lee Lewis, his lyrics...

Kris Kristofferson Kris Kristofferson

After a lengthy period of struggle, Kris Kristofferson achieved remarkable success as a country songwriter at the start of the 1970s. His songs "Me and Bobby McGee," "Help Me Make It Through the Night," "Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down," and "For the Good Times," all chart-topping hits, helped redefine country songwriting, making it more personal and...

George Jones George Jones

By most accounts, George Jones is the finest vocalist in the recorded history of country music. Initially, he was a hardcore honky tonker in the tradition of Hank Williams, but over the course of his career he developed an affecting, nuanced ballad style. In the course of his career, he never left the top of the country charts, even as he...

Shawn Colvin Shawn Colvin

Shawn Colvin is one of the bright spots of the so-called "new folk movement" that began in the late '80s. And though she grew out of the somewhat limited "woman with a guitar" school, she has managed to keep the form fresh with a diverse approach, avoiding the clichéd sentiments and all-too-often formulaic arrangements that have plagued the...

Bonnie Raitt Bonnie Raitt

Long a critic's darling, singer/guitarist Bonnie Raitt did not begin to win the comparable commercial success due her until the release of the aptly titled 1989 blockbuster Nick of Time; her tenth album, it rocketed her into the mainstream consciousness nearly two decades after she first committed her unique blend of blues, rock, and R&B to...

This Old Road is the first recording of all new songs by Kris Kristofferson in the 11 years since Moment of Forever was released by Justice. Souls Alike is the first album in Bonnie Raitt's 18-disc catalog to bear her own name as producer with some assistance from Tchad Blake. It is also the first album in her career absent a 12-bar blues. Gone are the big washes of sound that Don Was added to her Grammy-winning recordings, and the sound Raitt has chosen for herself is a bit edgier,...
