Band posts brief note on the recording of their new album, while frontman Thom Yorke asks fans to sign a petition against the replacement of nuclear weapons.
Thom Yorke seems to have a knack for teasing Radiohead's rabid fans.
The singer continued his pattern of making occasional Web site posts about the band's work on its forthcoming album. Yorke posted to the band's Dead Air Space site that the band has reconvened following a holiday break and is back at work.
"We have started up again had a good today," Yorke wrote. "[We're] working on a version of '15Step' and rebuilding our studio in the wind."
"15 Step" is one of the many new songs the band previewed for fans on its summer US tour in 2006.
The band recorded sporadically in the fall and early winter and took a one-month holiday break. In that time, Yorke posted remixes of songs from his solo debut, The Eraser, and appeared on producer Nigel Godrich's downloadable Web show, which also featured Jack White. Meanwhile, multiinstrumentalist Jonny Greenwood helmed a Trojan Records reggae compilation.
In his post, Yorke also encouraged fans to sign a petition against the replacement of nuclear weapons in the UK.
