After a stop at the Noise Pop festival in San Francisco March 2, the singer-songwriter and his pair of sonic medics will play 25 North American dates.
Veteran punk-folk singer Ted Leo unveiled a headlining spring tour this week in support of his latest album, Living With the Living, which hits stores March 20.
Leo, who's been at the helm of a series of bands since the late 1980s, will be joined by his backing pair of Pharmacists, bassist Dave Lerner and drummer Chris Wilson, with whom he's recorded and toured since 1999.
The trio are set to headline a March 2 show at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco as part of the annual, six-day Noise Pop festival, which also features performances from the Dandy Warhols, Cake, Spinto Band, Vic Chesnutt, the Donnas, Jolie Holland, Josh Ritter, Sebadoh, Richard Swift, and Clinic. Also on the bill for the March 2 show are Georgie James, So Many Dynamos, and Pony Come Lately.
Leo & the Pharmacists will kick off their 25-date tour with a March 28 show in Philadelphia before heading south, then west, then back east before concluding with a May 5 show at Webster Hall in New York City.
Leo will also make a solo appearance at a benefit tomorrow in Brooklyn to raise money for the medical treatment of Callum Robbins, son of former Jawbox lead singer J. Robbins. The younger Robbins suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a frequently fatal affliction in children.
Living With the Living, Leo's fifth, is his first since signing with Chicago indie label Touch and Go early last year.
