All Tomorrow's Parties unveils lineup

Modest Mouse, Mogwai, Yo La Tengo, Patti Smith, Cat Power, Joanna Newsom, Built to Spill, and Band of Horses to play two-weekend UK festival.

Known for putting the lineup-making power in the hands of acclaimed artists, UK music festival All Tomorrow's Parties has taken a slightly different approach this time around, at least for a portion of the two-weekend event.

The first weekend, set for April 27-29 in Somerset, will be curated by Aussie trio Dirty Three, who picked Nick Cave as its headliner, in addition to 36 other bands, including Cat Power, Spiritualized, Joanna Newsom, Einsturzende Neubauten, and The Scientists, among others.

The lineup selection for the second weekend, which will be held May 18-20 at the same location in Somerset, was split between the event's organizers and its fans. Those fans have picked Modest Mouse, Apples in Stereo, Explosions in the Sky, Mogwai, and Yo La Tengo, among others, while the organizers chose a list of bands that includes Built to Spill, Sparklehorse, Echo & The Bunnymen, Brightblack Morninglight, Grizzly Bear, Band of Horses, and Patti Smith.

Weekend tickets range from £120 ($235) to £140 ($275) depending on the type of accommodation, as all attendees stay in chalets on the festival grounds.
