Pink Floyd cofounder plans to return to North America for 24 complete performances of classic album.

Roger Waters apparently had so much fun delivering complete live performances of Dark Side of the Moon last year that he wants to run it back.

The Pink Floyd cofounder said this week that he plans to return to North America for 24 shows this summer starting with a May 18 concert at the Sound Advice Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida, and ending July 14 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

Each show will feature two sets with Waters and his 10-piece band, the first of which will focus on early Floyd material and Waters' solo work, including tracks from his solo album Amused to Death. The second set will be a full performance of Dark Side, the legendary 1973 album that has sold more than 34 million copies worldwide, making it one of the top-selling albums of all time.

Waters, who cofounded the groundbreaking band with the late Syd Barrett in 1966, performed with the classic Floyd lineup--himself, David Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Richard Wright--at 2005's Live 8 benefit concert, marking the first time the group appeared together since 1981.

I saw Waters perform at the 2006 Roskilde Festival (Denmark, Europe). Totally amazing, he performed 1½ hour of Pink Floyd classics, which were all awesome. Then he went off for 15 minutes, when he came back we got the entire Dark Side of The Moon album in one long go! Oh, and then he finished with a couple of tracks from The Wall... Can't recommend his shows enough!

I wish he came to Ohio. Stil, I'd much rather see a full 'Pink Floyd' reunion and a new album.

Roger Waters was a primary creative force in Pink Floyd from 1965 to 1983. He first met Syd Barrett, who would become the band's lead singer and guitarist, during his school days when both attended a Saturday art class. He moved to London to study architecture at Regent Street Polytechnic and there formed a band with drummer Nick Mason and...

Pink Floyd Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd is the premier space rock band. Since the mid-'60s, their music relentlessly tinkered with electronics and all manner of special effects to push pop formats to their outer limits. At the same time they wrestled with lyrical themes and concepts of such massive scale that their music has taken on almost classical, operatic quality, in...

Since the CD jewel box carries a sticker reading, "From the creator of The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall," it is important to note at the outset that Roger Waters' Ça Ira is not a rock concept album or rock opera; indeed, it does not contain rock music at all. The music is best described as classical, played by a symphony orchestra and sung...

The second post-Roger Waters Pink Floyd album is less forced and more of a group effort than A Momentary Lapse of Reason -- keyboard player Rick Wright is back to full bandmember status and has co-writing credits on five of the 11 songs, even getting lead vocals on "Wearing the Inside Out." Some of David Gilmour's lyrics (co-written by Polly...
