Decemberists to get orchestral in LA

Lit-rockers are set to perform with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at a July 7 show at the Hollywood Bowl.

If you like your lit rock with a symphonic twist, the Decemberists have a treat for you.

The Portland, Oregon-based band is set to perform with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on July 7, according to a post on the band's Web site.

The band will debut new orchestral arrangements of their songs during the performance, and more symphony pairings are reportedly in the works. Plug Award winner Band of Horses are set to open the show.

As previously reported, the Decemberists are set to kick off a spring tour at the Loews Theatre in Jersey City, New Jersey, on March 21, with My Brightest Diamond opening.
