Episode Three
This week's episode focuses on the South By Southwest music festival, with performances and interview coverage straight outta Austin, Texas.
First off, we hit up the outdoor stage at Stubb's BBQ, for a searing live show from arguably the best emcee ever, Rakim. With support from the aptly-named Rhythm Roots All-Stars, The R performs one of his signature classics, "Microphone Fiend."
Then we hook up with Dennis Coffey, a guitar virtuoso who has played on countless hit records from the likes of Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Funkadelic, and many many more. He describes the creative process behind timeless B-boy staples "Scorpio" and "Theme From Black Belt Jones," gives his opinion on sampling, plus talks about his book and upcoming live album.
We also get an exclusive in-studio live session with Kidz in the Hall, who rock the track "Go Ill" off of their Rawkus Records debut School Was My Hustle. (Stream the album here).
As if that's not enough, we also hit you with some extra bonus footage of Evidence (with Alchemist and DJ Revolution) and Devin The Dude (with the Coughee Brothaz).
Enjoy!
