The Projekt Revolution tour kicks off July 25 at a venue the band will announce on May 22. The trek will hit the West Coast before running across the South, up the East Coast, and then blanketing the Midwest. The tour wraps up September 3 in Englewood, Colorado.

"If you took Linkin Park off this bill it would still be the best bill of the summer," Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington said in announcing the tour.

Tickets for the "green" tour will be available beginning May 19 via LiveNation.com. One dollar from each ticket sold will be donated to the American Forests campaign to fund their Global ReLeaf program to plant trees and reduce global temperatures.

Old-school hip-hop, traditional classic rock, and spooling electronic vibes were the initial factors behind the building of the alternative metal quintet, Linkin Park. The band's southern Californian musical roots were also an underlying basis, for drummer Rob Bourdon, guitarist Brad Delson, and MC/vocalist Mike Shinoda formed a tight friendship...

My Chemical Romance My Chemical Romance

Based in New Jersey, My Chemical Romance is an alternative pop/rock and punk-pop band that has been compared to Thursday and, to a lesser degree, Cursive. Their name was inspired by author Irvine Welsh (of Trainspotting fame), and while many of their songs are loud, fast, hyper, and aggressive, My Chemical Romance's work also tends to be melodic...

Taking Back Sunday

Formed in 1999, Amityville, NY's Taking Back Sunday took their version of melodic hardcore from bands like Lifetime, Endpoint, and Sunny Day Real Estate, as well as guitarist Ed Reyes' emo band the Movielife. The band's first demo, a five-song CD, was released in February of 2001. After a year of self-promotion and touring, including shows with...

After forming in Finland in 1995, H.I.M. (or His Infernal Majesty) set out on the path of goth forebears like Sisters of Mercy and the Mission UK. Placebo Placebo

Due to their penchant for androgynous attire/makeup and raw guitar riffs, Placebo have been described by some as a glam version of Nirvana. The multi-national band was formed by singer/guitarist Brian Molko (part Scottish and American, but raised in Britain) and bassist Stefan Olsdal (originally from Sweden). Earlier, both had attended the same...

Perhaps if the cut-'n'-paste remix record Reanimation hadn't appeared as a stopgap measure in the summer of 2002, Linkin Park's second record, Meteora, would merely have been seen as a continuation of their 2000 debut, Hybrid Theory, instead of a retreat to familiar ground. Then again, Reanimation wasn't much more than a way to buy time (along...

One has to hand it to Taking Back Sunday. Three albums in, they are now pretty much experts at re-creating their own sound, so much so that they can essentially make the same album repeatedly -- but you know, different -- yet still manage to rock hard enough underneath verbose lyrics that even those who notice the unabashed similarities to past...

Placebo
With 2004's release of Placebo's singles collection the band reaffirmed that they've never quite fit into any particular fad. Their success has been gradual in the sense that their style and sound has progressed naturally with each album. Meds builds upon that notion while also embarking on a new phase for Placebo. Meds is their second coming....
