Britney books Florida comeback shows

Britney Spears Britney Spears

Floridians on the prowl for a pricey, 15-minute, lip-synched performance from Britney Spears are in luck. The pop star, on the comeback trail after a slew of hair-razing missteps, has booked two more comeback shows, this time in Florida. Using the same M+Ms name under which she performed earlier this month, Spears will play the House of Blues in Orlando on Saturday. Click here for tickets. On Sunday night, Spears and company will perform at the Mansion in Miami Beach. Click here for more info on that show.

Snoop Dogg: I have beats for Celine

Snoop Dogg Snoop Dogg

Despite an ever-growing rap sheet, Snoog Dogg is still able to move in unexpected circles, like his Chrysler ad appearance with Lee Iacocca. Now he wants to parlay that ability to the music game and make beats for unexpected collaborators--namely Celine Dion. "I got beats for...everybody, man," Snoop told AllHipHop.com. "I got beats for Celine Dion, and Sade. I've got music for everybody, not just rap. Rap s*** is easy--whoever I call, I can get, just because I'm Snoop Dogg. That's too easy. I want to reach out with some creative artists that's gonna be here 20 years from now."

Reznor blasts album pricing

Nine Inch Nails Nine Inch Nails

Nine Inch Nails' "true fans" are getting screwed. So says the band's frontman, Trent Reznor, who blasted his record label, Universal Music Group, for pricing the band's new album, Year Zero, too high. In a post on the band's Web site, Reznor called the pricing is "absurd" and wrote, "As the climate grows more and more desperate for record labels, their answer to their mostly self-inflicted wounds seems to be to screw the consumer over even more." He noted that Year Zero is selling in Australia for $34.99 Australian dollars ($29.10 US), while Avril Lavigne's album, which was released the same week, is selling for $21.99 ($18.21 US)."

"When I asked a label rep about this his response was: 'It's because we know you have a real core audience that will pay whatever it costs when you put something out--you know, true fans," Reznor wrote. "It's the pop stuff we have to discount to get people to buy.' So...I guess as a reward for being a 'true fan' you get ripped off."

Ricky Martin Ricky Martin

Ricky Martin hurts back, cancels shows

Latin heartthrob Ricky Martin canceled two concerts in Texas after he hurt his back during a performance in Laredo, Texas, on Friday. The singer had to cancel a show in San Antonio on Saturday and one in El Paso yesterday.

New dates to make up the concert are being looked at and concert officials say tickets will be honored when a new date is scheduled. Check Martin's site for more details.

Malmsteen selling 1983 Ferrari

The man, his axe, his Ferrari. The man, his axe, his Ferrari.

Here's the deal. You will buy Yngwie Malmsteen's's 1983 Ferrari, or you will feel the fury. Actually, it's the f***ing fury. And you don't want to feel the f***ing fury. The guitar maestro has put his 1983 black Ferrari up for auction on eBay, and bids have soared to $19,100 as of press time. The auction is set to end on Saturday at 12:47 p.m. PT.

"This Ferrari is probably one of the most photographed cars in rock and roll and can be found as the back drop for Yngwie posters, amplifier print ads, magazine write ups and past photo shoots all over the world over the last 18 years," the eBay post reads. "It has also been used as a photo backdrop to Yngwie's world famous "Duck" Strat. This Ferrari is also the subject of Yngwie's tune entitled "Beauty and a Beast" and "Demon Driver."

At least Reznor's got the balls to backtalk his label, regardless if it actually did anything or not

Yah, I just can't picture Celine Dion rapping about gangsters and ho's and stuff. Heck, even Madonna would have a hard time re-inventing herself that much. Because we all know Snoop doesn't do overly dramatic pop ballads.

Britney Spears Britney Spears

More than any other single artist, Britney Spears was the driving force behind the return of teen pop in the late '90s. The blockbuster success of the Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys certainly paved the way for her own commercial breakthrough, but Spears didn't just become a star -- she was a bona fide pop phenomenon. Not only did she sell...

Snoop Dogg Snoop Dogg

As the embodiment of '90s gangsta rap, Snoop Dogg blurred the lines between reality and fiction. Introduced to the world through Dr. Dre's The Chronic, Snoop quickly became the most famous star in rap, partially because of his drawled, laconic rhyming and partially because the violence that his lyrics implied seemed real, especially after he was...

Celine Dion Celine Dion

Rising from humble beginnings in the small town of Charlemagne, Quebec, Celine Dion became one of the biggest international stars in pop music history, selling more than 100 million albums worldwide. The youngest in Adhemar and Therese Dion's family of 14 children, Dion grew up in an environment full of the inherent chaos and material austerity...

Nine Inch Nails Nine Inch Nails

Nine Inch Nails were the most popular industrial group ever and was largely responsible for bringing the music to a mass audience. It isn't really accurate to call NIN a group; the only official member is singer/producer/multi-instrumentalist Trent Reznor, who always remained solely responsible for NIN's musical direction (he was, however,...

Ricky Martin Ricky Martin

Ricky Martin was one of the biggest teen idols in Latin America during the '90s, and a major figure in American pop music by the end of the decade. A lead singer of Menudo, Martin was blessed with good looks and a nice voice, which helped him become a Latin music star. He also became an actor, earning praise from the Mexican motion picture...

Yngwie Malmsteen Yngwie Malmsteen

Yngwie Malmsteen is arguably the most technically accomplished hard rock guitarist to emerge during the '80s. Combining a dazzling technique honed over years of obsessive practice with a love for such classical composers as Bach, Beethoven, and Paganini, Malmsteen's distinctively Baroque, gothic compositional style and lightning-fast arpeggiated...

Trent Reznor always was a perfectionist, laboring over his final mixes with a fine-tooth comb, a belabored process that inevitably led to long gaps between albums.
