Spears jabs Lindsay; Hilton leaves medical ward; Game rejects plea deal; Davis eyes opera; Common inks Converse deal.

Britney jabs Lohan in Web post

The good ol' days. The good ol' days.

Someone is apparently unfamiliar with the "if you live in a glass house" mantra. In a post on her Web site today, Britney Spears proposes some potential titles for her forthcoming album. One of the suggested titles is a not-so-subtle jab at fellow tabloid princess Lindsay Lohan: Omg is Like Lindsay Lohan Like Okay Like. That title is up against some heavy competition, including Down boy, Integrity, Dignity, and, best of all, What if the Joke is on You. Vote for one of the proposed titles by clicking here.

In related news, Spears' mom Lynne explained her daughter's recent meltdown and rehab stint in an interview with Us Weekly. "She's just figuring things out," Spears told the magazine. "Britney Jean Spears is the sweetest and the most sensitive and loving of all my children...I can see her life picking up, and it's just going to hold great things for her. It's sad that the whole world had to watch her make mistakes that all of us have made at one time or another."

Hilton leaves jail's medical ward

Paris Hilton on wax. Paris Hilton on wax.

Paris Hilton has left the medical ward at Twin Towers jail in Los Angeles and has been moved back to Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood where she is expected to serve out 11 more days of her jail sentence. L.A. County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore said today that "Paris Hilton's medical condition is stable. She was moved last night at 10:55 p.m. to the Century Regional Detention Facility. Miss Hilton is now being housed in CRDF's med clinic where her condition will continue to be monitored...I cannot discuss, as you know, her medical condition."

Hilton, 26, is scheduled to be released from jail on June 25. The specific ailment that led to Hilton's initial release from jail due to a "medical condition" was never revealed, although speculation has surrounded withdrawal from her regular use of Adderall, a drug used to treat attention deficit disorder, as well as Xanax.

The Game rejects plea deal

Awaits his day in court. Awaits his day in court.

The Game has rejected a plea deal that would have allowed him to avoid jail time for charges of impersonating a police officer last November in New York. The Associated Press reported yesterday that the Compton rapper--real name Jayceon Taylor--denies claims that he told a cab driver he was an undercover police officer and convinced him to run several stoplights. "He is innocent," Game's attorney Jeffrey Lichtman told the AP. "It's rare that I have a 100 percent innocent defendant, but this is one."

The Game also faces felony charges stemming from an alleged fight during a pickup basketball game in Los Angeles in February. In related Game news, his girlfriend Tiffany Webb recently gave birth to a son, King Justice, the rapper announced in a post on his Black Wall Street blog. Game also has a son, Harlem, from a previous relationship.

Korn frontman eyes opera

Jonathan Davis Jonathan Davis

Korn frontman Jonathan Davis has started writing material for an opera titled Oblivion," AOL Music's Pop Eater blog reported today. The opera will be a collaborative effort with film composer Richard Gibbs and horror writer Clive Barker, and Davis told AOL Music that the project will be very dark and focus on an account of the world's end. Davis is also reportedly putting the finishing touches on a coffee-table book featuring 12 of his favorite horror stories illustrated by 12 of his favorite artists.

Peace Love & Gap is so 2006. With his new album Finding Forever in stores July 31, Common has inked a deal to become the face of a new ad campaign for the Converse and its tie-in with the (PRODUCT) RED initiative. The Fall 2007 advertising campaign is entitled "Weapon of Change" featuring irreverent messages and bold illustrations encouraging consumers to be optimistic rebels and become agents of change. The Converse (PRODUCT) RED Weapon will be available exclusively through Foot Locker. The "Weapon of Change" campaign featuring Common was shot on location in Los Angeles.

Other than the item discussing the increasingly lucrative endorsement deals consummated by the best ChiTown has to offer hip-hop, I think the term "douche" could easily -- and copiously -- be worked into the rest of these bits.

Lol! Great post FallenOneX. I'll save my sympathy for someone who really needs it. Like displaced refugees, not some rich trainwreck of a woman who makes Courtney Love look stable.

Common (originally Common Sense) was a highly influential figure in rap's underground during the '90s, keeping the sophisticated lyrical technique and flowing syncopations of jazz-rap alive in an era when commercial gangsta rap was threatening to obliterate everything in its path. Electric Circus cost and won Common some fans.
