Headquarted in the Bay Area, DJ Zeph and Azeem have been making next-level hip-hop for many years now; Zeph as a critically acclaimed producer/DJ known for his genre-bending beats, and Azeem as a fiercely lyrical emcee and slam poet adept in thought-provoking wordplay and political commentary. They stop by the studio to discuss their musical partnership and brand new album Rise Up, out now on OM Records.

Coming out of Sacramento, Dahlak is a fast-rising rapper who recently dropped his debut solo album Dual Consciousness. He's also a top-notch spoken word artist down with the ill-Literacy crew, and also rocks the stage as a member of the Scourge hip-hop theater troupe. Here, he performs the track "Welcome To My Cypher" live at San Francisco club Pier 23.

One of the most underrated gangsta rap pioneers, East Bay O.G. Spice 1 has been thugging it up on wax since the early 1990s. Discovered by Too Short, who got him his first major deal with Jive, he continues to record independently, and has released 20 albums over the course of his career. Peep the video for "Trigga Gots No Heart," a 1993 jam originally featured on the Menace II Society soundtrack.
