It's Beginning To Feel A Lot Like Christmas

Every December, we get treated to a new batch of holiday-themed albums. Some of them become classics in their own right, while others fade quietly into obscurity. If you're looking to get into the spirit, check these out...

Bootsy Collins - Christmas 4 Ever

The one-and-only funkster extraordinaire hooks up with friends old (Fred Wesley, Bernie Worrell) and new (Snoop Dogg, Charlie Daniels) on his first Christmas LP. Listen to the album and read the interview here.

Ella Fitzgerald - Ella Fitzgerald's Christmas

Hard to believe it's already been a decade since "The First Lady of Song" passed away. She put out countless records over her decades-long career, and now you can finally get all the seasonal tracks together. Check it out here.

We also got up with Brian McKnight recently, check out our interview and listening party right here.

New Musiq and Vintage Mary

Neo-soul favorite Musiq Soulchild is currently putting the finishing touches on LUVANMUSIQ, to be released early next year through Atlantic. We just got his new single "Buddy," which older heads may recognize as an updated remake of a classic De La Soul/Tribe Called Quest collaboration. Listen to it right here.

Speaking of favorites and classics, one of the all-time greats, Mary J. Blige, is about to release Reflections - A Retrospective. The hits collection features all of her biggest singles, plus four new tracks including "We Ride (I See The Future)." It is set to drop on December 12th.

While you're waiting on that, check out the interview we did with her last year, as well as some choice videos from the one-and-only Queen of Hip-Hop Soul.
