In interview with Fox News, President Bush talks more about his iPod playlist, which includes Don--not Dan--McLean.

At the end of a lengthy interview Wednesday with Fox News' Brit Hume about the state of the war in Iraq, President George W. Bush provided more insight into his chosen food of love.

"Beach Boys, Beatles, Alan Jackson, Alan Jackson, Alan Jackson, Alejandro, Alison Krauss, the Angels, Aretha Franklin...Dan McLean, remember him?" Bush said in a video that Fox affiliate Sky News posted on its Web site today.

When corrected by an aide off camera that it was Don McLean who sang the 1970s hit "American Pie," Bush agreed.

"I listen to all of these," he said. "Bono came in and dropped the new iPod on me."

Bush then compared the tiny new iPod Nano Bono showed him to the older one he carries.

"This is a clunker compared to the newer version," he said.

Bush said he loves his iPod Shuffle.

"I got the Shuffle, it's lightweight, you crank it on, and you shuffle the Shuffle, put it in my pocket, got the ear things on," he said.

This was the second time the public has learned about the contents of Bush's iPod. In April, the White House revealed the playlist Bush often uses when he's on one of his much-publicized mountain-biking excursions near his ranch in Crawford, Texas.

That list included similar country, rock, and Americana tracks from John Fogerty, Van Morrison, George Jones, Kenny Chesney, and Bryan Adams, but also The Knack's "My Sharona."

Alan Jackson Alan Jackson

After Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson was the most popular male country singer of the '90s. An heir to the new traditionalist movement of the '80s, Jackson's approach was rooted in classic honky tonk yet remained comfortably within the contemporary mainstream. Jackson's hallmark was consistency -- he wrote many of his own hits, and his way with a...

Don McLean Don McLean

Famed for -- and ultimately defined by -- his perennial "American Pie," singer/songwriter Don McLean was born October 2, 1945, in New Rochelle, NY. After getting his start in the folk clubs of New York City during the mid-'60s, McLean struggled for a number of years, building a small following through his work with Pete Seeger on the Clearwater,...

The Beach Boys The Beach Boys

Beginning their career as the most popular surf band in the nation, the Beach Boys finally emerged by 1966 as America's pre-eminent pop group, the only act able to challenge (for a brief time) the overarching success of the Beatles with both mainstream listeners and the critical community. From their 1961 debut with the regional hit "Surfin,"...

The Beatles The Beatles

So much has been said and written about the Beatles -- and their story is so mythic in its sweep -- that it's difficult to summarize their career without restating clichés that have already been digested by tens of millions of rock fans. To start with the obvious, they were the greatest and most influential act of the rock era, and introduced...

The Knack The Knack

Forming in Los Angeles in the late '70s, the Knack (Doug Fieger, vocals/guitar; Berton Averre, lead guitar; Prescott Niles, bass; and Bruce Gary, drums) were neither punk nor rock, but pure simple pop, standing out among the musical dross that littered the Sunset Strip. Signing with Capitol after a feeding frenzy of label offers, the Knack...
