Music service and satellite radio firm will broadcast performances from awards show Wednesday, as well as Clive Davis' preshow party.
Although Yahoo! is the official online destination for the Grammy Awards Wednesday, two of digital music's other major players have scored deals to show portions of the industry's big night.
RealNetworks inked the rights to stream the always-popular Clive Davis' Grammy preparty at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, while XM Satellite Radio will broadcast the party on its Grammy Radio channel (XM 200) and deliver live coverage of the awards show and related events.
Davis' party is usually a hit among the stars. Past parties have included performances from Alicia Keys, Maroon 5, Mary J. Blige, Foo Fighters, Stevie Wonder, Jamie Foxx, Kanye West, and Usher.
RealNetworks will stream the party coverage and Grammy performances through Rhapsody, its music subscription service, and will make select performances available for download through Rhapsody in the days after the event.
"We are proud to once again offer consumers exclusive live access to Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party," ReaNetworks CEO Rob Glaser said in a statement. "This legendary event promises fans everywhere an evening of unprecedented excitement and extraordinary music."
