Citing "health reasons," label says it will announce refund info soon and hopes to reschedule the shows.
Alt-folk singer Cat Power has canceled her upcoming US tour in support of her latest album, The Greatest.
Citing "health reasons," Power's label, Matador Records, said that the tour has been canceled and that refunds would be given. It said it planned to reschedule the tour "as soon as possible."
"Out of respect for Chan's privacy, we can't give more detailed information, but we hope and assume that you'll respect her privacy during this time as well," the label said in a statement on its Web site. "Chan is a good friend and a dear member of the Matador family, and when we have news about future performances, we'll be certain to share it with you here.
Power (aka Chan Marshall) was to be backed by the Memphis Rhythm Band, the group of veteran Memphis session musicians with whom she recorded The Greatest. The tour was slated to kick off on February 11 in Memphis.
Power is still scheduled to perform at Coachella in late April and Bonnaroo in mid-June.
