Well.... The Stomps began when Elliot told Jackson "get on them drums, and pound me a rhythm". Jackson did so, and The Stomps were born that fateful day in 2006. Since then, The Stomps have been busy recording with a small, equipment lacking, home studio (Sailor Mouth Records). Half in Wellington half in Northland, the lads found ways to get together and play shows. "Them fools know how't play", oh yes, Elliot and Jackson do have a lot of experience behind them, you wouldn't catch them bragging though, oh no, modest as fuck. The Stomps have a unique stage presence, with Jackson slouching over his 3 piece kit, arms flailing in time, mumbling into his microphone in a cool lazy eyed slur, while Elliot has a stone cold unbreakable, bitter glare fixed on the audience, almost as if he were attacking them, but when the song is over the audience is won over by his warm witty charms. Fast fingers and an unrelenting wiskey drenched voice that will leave you feeling violated, but in a good way. Elliot definitely has a unique way about him, his country roots get the better of him as he instinctively falls into the country/folk side of music, while Jackson though from a similar background, is everything Elliot isn't musically which really works well for these two boys from Mangawhai, NZ. What the fuck am I talking about? By now you've it's probably occurred to you that The Stomps are rather good at what they do, in fact it's all they do. You wont find these boys on the campus of a university, oh no, you wont find them in some depressing fleuro lit office in the central city. Music is what they do, and they do it well. -Sailor Mouth
