6 Things I Did This Week and Would You Rather

What's on my iPod right now: Joshua Radin- Winter

I can't sleep, I'm bored and I decided to pad my blog stats a little bit with this one.

6 Things I did this week (not necessarily in this order):

Installed a toilet.  Fun!

Cursed the weather.  Over it.

Downloaded Amy Winehouse songs.  She's growing on me.

Shopped for a comforter with my girl.  Whipped.

Got a little tipsy on Purple Haze Beer.  Good stuff.

Pondered whether I'd rather change my past or know my future.  I chose change my past because I think it would be too spooky knowing my future.  What about you?

Now on the iPod: Kenny Chesney- There Goes My Life

Hmm...I think I would go know my future...I have to a certain degree bought into the idea that everything happens for a reason...so changing the past would put some kinks into that idea...I have also always thought I would die at 54, so it would be nice to know if I am half way done...

That is such a good question. Don't know if I'd want to fool around with either. Not a lot I would change in my past but if I did change the things I want, I would do it ONLY if I would still be conscious of how I got to where I am now so I could see the difference the changes made...I would never want to look at the future because I don't want to know when I will die. It's kind of like being pregnant and wanting to know the sex of the baby...it's supposed to be a surprise (the baby, not your death) and to know ahead of time, it just doesn't seem right.

Gator- I guess if I knew when my final moment was going to pass then I could cheat death as much as I wanted and live life to its absolute fullest. It would take a lot to get used to knowing when it all would end however. Kinda like the movie Stranger Than Fiction.

Jellybean- I think we all have things we would change from our past if given the chance. I would go back and never have put that first cigarette in my mouth or changed my schedule to make it to Atlanta for my grandads last trip to a Braves game...

Okay, so if you knew your final moment was coming and you tried to cheat death, wouldn't you just be changing the course of events and perhaps you'd die a different way instead?

Sometimes I think that even if I have the possibility of changing my past I wouldn't do it. because I love what I am now (even if i dislike some paths that headed me here) and I'm not that sure if those changes would actually change this stormy but great present. There's no way I would like to know my future, really too scary!!

Jellybean- Thinking about it, I guess I consider my final breath as a static event that is already determined and will come at that time no matter what I do.

Ainho- I see what you're saying. I'm happy with my life too, but there are so many things that would be great to take back or change as well.

I already told you what I think about this..
But I'd have given ANYTHING to change what happened this morning..
