Definitely NOT the type of band to say, "oh, they're alright", or "cool. Just cool". But I've definitely heard things like, "why do you listen to this crap?" and my favorite one, "this is really wierd music". And they're all right. But it's not a band to favor all people. It is a band that reaches only into the membrane of the musically talented. The ones who stand out, the ones who have a true persona in life: consume drugs and listen to psychadelic music. That is my life, and I'm not ashamed of it. It's a fenomena when i hear people speak of animal collective as if they were another band. NO! they are one band, of pure genius, eccentric thought, and amazing parrallel to match. I can't stop listening to them, and i own each and every album, but for sung tongs, well, it is my FAVORITE. PERIOD. their newer album doesnt exactly strive for the feeling they produced in sung tongs or feels, but is some what of a less burdensome yet vocally stingent and petrifying album. It gives you more of a feel like your stuck in a mind of another you don't really go to far for. But sung tongs, my god, it is a work of art. literally. every noise radiates feelings that i cant express, and when pushed with the forces of psychadelics, produces an array of music that is to be forever appreciated, and i name this band one of the greatest of its kind. ANIMAL COLLECTIVE, I LOVE YOU.
