And in case you're scratching your head as to what this blog title is trying to imply...

It's been almost a year since I last posted a gaming review. The last review I posted, the Wii version of Okami, wasn't one of my strongest written material (but then again, some of you liked it, I think).

I have been writing reviews since, but they're still in progress along with a few delays here and there. Well...

On my previous account I wasn't taking my reviews seriously. When I became known as 6h05tly (and yes, you're reading my blog, what of it?) I took it seriously. Kinda.

I have a couple of reviews that I completed but still needs some revisions and other grammatical fixings. But I will tell you that one of the reviews I've written will pay homage to a well-known series. The other will be "different" than what I normally write for reviews.

I can't tell you much about the two since they are still in progress. But I will say that I will return to posting reviews, now that I have the time (my schedule for the rest of the semester will be easy, now that I only have three weeks left, and 3-to-4 weeks of break).

Working on my gaming time at the moment (depressing, of course), I managed to get my college work done over the weekend.

My design c1asses are doing well. Just got back my current assignment and it is an A (as always, since I like designing stuff or something in the lines of art I guess). Had today's assignment critiqued and it recieved positive feedback by my peers and instructor. I'm happy to hear this news.

I have my presentation complete and (still) waiting for some of my group members to reply back, telling them I have my part of the Art History presentation done. We have to present monday next week and I'm a nervous wreck (I always been anyways).

Enough about that (depressing, of course). Let's get to gaming!

I rented Dragon Age Origins for the Xbox 360 and I'm very impressed with this roleplaying game. I was gonna rent Demon's Souls that day but they were all out. I was also gonna get Uncharted 2 but decided to wait a while (it's hard to focus on one game at a time).

I plan on finishing up a few things for my c1asses which I should be done early tomorrow. After that, I will be able to help my family with thanksgiving (which will be small this year unfortunately) later that day.

And with that, I hope you have a good thanksgiving as well. BTW, anyone watch this week's episode of Heroes? Funny yet shocking at the same time (but the show's not getting any better, sigh...).

After reading a recent article about a gamer who is suing Nintendo and Microsoft over things that don't make sense, it occurred to me:

Could I be that obsessed to this pixel/polygon craze?

I won't deny that it eats away my free time (which I must use for my studying), but it is somewhat conflicting with my college study time. It appears that I play 3 hours a day and maybe 6-8 hours on weekends. so that makes it 21-23 hours a week! Talk about obsessive.

I am doing well in my c1asses, ftw, so no worries there, I think...

So I'm working on a database that I will follow. It is a work in progress and I hope to improve on the roughs within the next day or two. So far I will spend my gaming time 1 hour a weekday and I'm still figuring out my weekend hours.

So the questions remains: Do you think you game too much?

Even though Steven Segall's new show Lawman won't premiere until December, the first episode made its debut on PlayStation Home last night. I watched it (unfortunately), I thought it was alright. That doesn't mean I'm gonna watch future episodes of it (besides, I hardly watch TV these days. Nothing interesting to watch anymore ).

I rate the show a 7 out of 10. Decent, well for an A&E show at least...

To those who like free items on Home, go see the episode [again] at the Theater right now. I think there's a vest to unlock (or something like that at least).

I have been playing Assassin's Creed recently, in anticipationfor its sequel.

It has been a while since I last played this game. The main reason why I halted my playtime on Altair's adventure was the first pickpocket mission. Luckily I figuredit outafter completing it last weekend.

Right now I'm on the next city but took a break after playing through Masyaf for several hours finding as many flags as I could (found out that I will get the rest later in the game).

I am excited about Assassin's Creed II mainly because of the Renaissance setting. And Leonardo da Vinci, my all-time favorite painter/artist in the history of art!!! (The Wright Brothers thought they invented this contraption we call a plane... Think again )

When you buy any game, new or old, what motivated you to buy it? The graphics? The story? The gameplay? As a hobbie of collecting games? Anything else I can't think of about the subject you'd like to share?

For me, if the story is good, I will enjoy the game. Of course I've recently been purchasing games that are very hard to find (the GCN version of Master Quest and RPG Maker for the PS1 are just some examples).

Enough about me, let's hear what you have to say!

Even though I'm not much of a first-person shooter kind of gamer, I hope Modern Warfare 2's first week surpasses GTAIV and/or Halo 3.

Speaking of which, I didn't like GTA IV so I gave it away to my cousin, in exchange for Assassin's Creed. And after Halo 2 I stopped playing the franchise due to lack of enjoyment and even more lack on innovation (I'm an innovation-specific kind of gamer).

So whoever bought the game on its launch day as well as to those who will buy it in the future (unfortunately for me, I won't get it, sorry), enjoy Modern Warfare 2 day and night (you needs the energy drinks and coffee if you want to fight 24/7).

Me, you say? I recently (and finally) purchased Batman: Arkham Asylum for the PS3. I plan on writing a review for the game once I played through most of the game itself (I have some rough ideas in the process at the moment and will flesh it out here and there).

Before you answer this question, hear what I have to say, eh?

For years I've been a hardcore Nintendo fan, ever since I got an NES from my late uncle in the early 90s. Favoring the SNES over the Sega Genesis later on as well as the Nintendo 64 being my all-time favorite system, and being a supporter of Nintendo's handheld from the original GameBoy to the Nintendo DS: I always thought Nintendo did good for this industry.

Up until recently Nintendo has been having a difficult time selling Wii hardware and Wii software, having the console to "stall" at this point. A few people claimed that the Wii may outsell the PS2's lifetime sales, but Sony's successor to the PSX has a worldwide sales count of 140 million units. Even though Nintendo broke records in game sales and being one of the most innovative publishers on the planet, as far as I'm concerned, I am dissapointed in the lack of good games third party developers have created, thus drifting me away from getting a game for the Wii (in fact, I haven't even bought a new game in over a year for the Wii!).

Since my purchase of the 360, I've played that console more than the Wii and DS combined. But the only thing that kept me away from Microsoft's system is their online service. I don't want to pay extra for online gaming. It's like a gaming divserified system (Silver not getting online play whereas Gold has everything else), even though I hardly play online games, but you get what I mean.

But ever since I purchased a PS3, I've been playing on Sony's system more than 360 at the moment. I do plan on getting games like Demon's Souls and Arkham Asylum in the future (if I can afford it). So far I only play LBP, a few PS1 games, and PlayStation Home (and some demos here and there), and I want to expand my library for this console.

Even though I'm a hardcore Nintendo fan, in this gaming generation I have to yield their support due to lack of good quality software. But that's not stopping me from not playing on their systems (my primary reason for the Wii is c1assic games, and I still play those games on the Wii), I once in a while play a game on the Wii here and there.

Even though I like Microsoft's many options on content (games, movies, TV, music, etc.), in this generation I have to give my support to Sony. What are my reasons why I prefer Sony over the other two, you ask? I believe they have potential to succeed ever since they changed their marketing strategy when they released the newer model of the PS3 as well as forcing Microsoft and Nintnedo (and probably scaring them too) to compete with their demands.

Now that you know who I'm supporting in this gaming generation, who are you rooting for? Sony? Microsoft? Nintendo? Let your typing be heard !!!

I've only watched District 9 once, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

After finding out that the Blu-Ray version will include the God of War III E3 demo just a few minutes before posting this blog, now I have reason to watch the film in HD as well as trying my hands on what I describe as "a mature version of Zelda." But that's just me, eh

I do plan on getting the God of War collection next month since I desperately need another PS3 game than what I have now. (Haven't played much of LBP due to playing too much of PlayStation Home.)

Anyway...

After years of searching this one particular game, I have finally purchased The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest for the Gamecube.

Right now I'm on the first dungeon (Deku Tree) and I'm at the water platform room at the moment. I'm scratching my head on trying to solve this puzzle. I can see why you have to be a master of the original game. All in all, it's interesting just to solve these puzzles that are 10x more complex.

As for Ocarina of Time itself, I have the N64 version, the Collector's Edition via GCN, the Wii Virtual Console version, and now the Master Quest version. The only versions I don't have are the N64 gold cartridge version and the 64DD version of Master Quest (which this is impossible since the 64DD Drive was somewhat of a debacle in Japan and never made it way outside of the country). So I have 5 different versions of the game (4 = Original; 1 = Master Quest).

I guess that's all I had to say for the time being. See Ya!

Been thinking about trying out Warhawk for the PS3. Saw it for $20 at my town's Walmart. Thought about buying it this past weekend.

Unsure if anyone still plays Warhawk (since it's online-only). Trying to figure out how many units were sold for this game. I never even played the PS1 version (I think it's available as a PSone C1assic download via PSN).

I'll give it a rent before making my final decision. See Ya!

Which method of texting on your favorite gaming systems do you prefer: controller or keyboard?

For me I cannot stand using the controller (the Wii is an exception though) so I recently purchased a USB keyboard to type whatever on PlayStation Home, search for levels on LittleBigPlanet, etc. etc.

Just a quick blog on some new games I recently purchased.

Purchased Blood Omen via PlayStation Store. Feels kinda like Diablo. The main antagonist(?) won't shut up during gameplay, and it is one of those few games (to me) that has some interesting features (taking blood from a human to regenerate health is one of them).

Found this at my town's local game store. Learning more from the store employee, this was released during the PlayStation launch back in 1995. It is a first-person RPG (like you see in the Elder Scrolls series), but this game isn't compatible with the dual shock analog sticks since the PS1's updated controller didn't exist when this game was released. King's Field II was also available too but decided to try this game out. Kinda frustrating since it is non-linear, but it was an interesting concept for its time.

Fact about King's Field: The developer behind this series is responsible for the upcoming PS3 game Demon's Souls. I didn't know this myself until a few days ago. Now I'm interested for this game after hearing about this.

Hey everyone, 6h05tly here.

It's been over a week, I completed the Story Mode on LBP (and having over 60% of the items collected), played some of the community levels. Now I'm trying my hands on the level editor which is taking me some time to understand as well as getting use to the features.

The one problem I have on LBP, and this is especially true, is that it is very difficult finding someone to play an online session due to the fact that there are so many custom levels published on the LBP community. What I'm trying to say is that there are so many levels out there that it is virtually overwhelming, especially the fact that new levels get uploaded every minute.

Like I said, I'm still getting use to the level editor and I was wondering if anyone here owns and plays LittleBigPlanet. So far I have one person in my friends list that has the game (and yes, I did try out his music level and commented on it).

If anyone is interested in a gaming session of LBP (or not, it's up to you), my PS3 ID is on my profile (and if you're having a hard time trying to spell out my ID, let me know via PM).

Other than that, just a few gaming and non-gaming updates from yours truly:

I had no idea the season 4 premiere of Heroes took place this week! Luckily I purchased the two-episode bundle via Xbox Marketplace and watched the 90-minute premiere. I tend to do this for a while since my uncle won't be able to watch the new episodes since he and I both have an evening c1ass on Mondays.

I've been on PlayStation Home since I got my PS3. I'm not much of a social person (both real and virtually) so I just run around the areas I go to. Last night I played a session of Buzz! and became the overall winner on that session. It was a tight one since near the end of the last round I was tied with another player.

Also purchased Crash Bandicoot via PlayStation Store. Took 30 minutes to download the game. Other than that, I relived those good times when playing this game. Tend to play more of this pretty soon.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the 6h05t, who has been waiting for a long time for this day coming, finally bought himself a PS3 Slim, TODAY!

Game purchased for the system: LittleBigPlanet: Game of the Year Edition (Fact: it is the only copy of LBP at where the 6h05t lives and after searching for this critically-acclaimed title for weeks, he finally found and immediately bought the game. Not much of a fact but pure luck, eh?).

Hey everyone. Just checking up on the few of you who actually read my blogs these days (just kidding of course ).

To answer my blog's question-of-a title: Kinda. As you can see on the above image, this is an Abstract-Expressionist painting done by Jackson Pollock during the 1940s (or was it the 50s, my art history is a bit rusty...). It is called Lucifer and is one of Pollock's most famous painted works. What we see in this work may differ from other's interpretation. Think about it for a second (or not it's all up to you ).

The way I see the world (and feel free to agree/disagree/agree to disagree/bleh) is how we want it to be. In this case, no matter what our ambitions are onour dreams,you must understand how it works before jumping to conclusions that may or eventually overwhelm you in frustration.

This is true for me after understanding the syllabi of my Design and Typography c1asses from the past two weeks. Miss one assignment and/or lecture = automatic fail. Get the supplies you need = a couple hundred to nearly a thousand. Looking ahead = more chances of being overwhelmed by the possibilities. All of these and a few others not only overwhelm me with stress and discipline, but also help me get to where I'm going for my future.

Some of you think I take my studying seriously, others think I'm obsessed with learning. Well, if it weren't for the support of my mother and one of my most respected uncles as they are only a handful of people in my family that continued their education and earned their college degrees (and yes, they have recently returned to pursue a new destiny), I wouldn't be here talking about my successes in college. If it weren't for them, I would be miserable to the full extent.

No matter what your destiny brings you, remember this: It's a tough world (I know, I'm at that point right now) but stay strong in body, mind, and spirit. Don't let any clouds block the sunlight, you shine above all else

Hey everyone, 6h05tly here.

Before I begin, amoment of silence...

And with that, let's see what's happening with the 6h05t.

I finally got my Wii console back online via a LAN adapter. It's a Nyko, not the best brand in the world, but at least I'm able to be online on Nintendo's system after being offline for over 5 months. Contacted James (aka jwallace) the other day. Checked the news channel on the Wii before I began my daily errands. Only have Brawl and Mario Kart as online-compatible games at the moment (I wish I should have kept Medal of Honor. Oh well...)

Onward to my college life! I was worried that I was gonna have a difficult time getting from home to Canada thru bus transportation. I couldn't believe how easy (and expensive) it was to commute from here to there. Had orientation on tuesday and began my first c1ass on thursday, Typography I (the art of lettering). I will begin my Design I course this coming tuesday.

And finally, a new comic purchase! Batman: The Dark Knight Returns! I've been trying to find this comic for a long time since Batman is my favorite comic book hero. Got it for $15 USD and will try to read it this weekend (studying comes first, but then again I have little to study this weekend).

After twittering about the subject earlier, today is the tenth anniversary of the Sega Dreamcast. To make it brief on the console itself, here is what I know about it (and correct me on any errors and/or mistakes I made on this info):

It launched in September 9, 1999.

It was the first console to implement online play. One of the first online console games released for the Dreamcast was Phantasy Star Online.

It was the first next-gen console before Sony, Nintendo, and then-newcomer Microsoft launched their updated systems in 2000 - 2001.

It was Sega's last attempt to be in the business as a hardware company since they released various systems for the Genesis in the 1990's as well as the failure of the Sega Saturn which was dominated by the Sony PlayStation at that time.

The console was basically a gaming system since there was no video playback feature included on the system nor any add-ons (like we saw with the HD-DVD player for the Xbox 360).

The Dreamcast lost to the PS2 due to a DVD Player built in on the system. For the last moments of its lifespan Sega struggled to sell their system, but in the end their ambition to attract players in buying their system was doomed by the big sales of the PlayStation successor.

After the Dreamcast died, Sega decided to be a software company and brought their gaming franchises to other platforms (such as the first few Sonic games like Adventure 2, Adventure DX, and the Advance series on Nintendo's systems.)

And yes, the TV ads for the Dreamcast in '99 was brilliant at its time. Anyone here remember those commercials? (could be different via region or something like that)

Just a little of what's happening with the 6h05t.

NEW GAME: Illusion of Gaia for the SNES. Just got this game the other day. Found the action RPG gameplay interesting, plan on playing more later on. So far I give it an 8.0 out of 10.

COLLEGE: I will be beginning my other courses in Canada this Tuesday. Still a bit nervous on the whole transportation expenses. Will get over it by that time comes. This also means that I will only be able to game once a week as well as checking my GS profile a few times a week under these conditions.

MISC: I plan on purchasing a PS3 Slim (you've heard me say this many times down the road) and if I do, I will be getting LBP and maybe Arkham Asylum since playing the demo (via 360) doesn't do it justice by means of playing the full version. Agree? No? (Sigh...)
