6h05tly's June 2009 Blog

Hey everyone, 6h05tly here.

Even though this is my June blog, I've merged some of my May progress into this blog (like I've always had in previous monthly blogs). Just to take a brief note on what happened this month, a lot happened this month. Several well-known celebrities walked on from this world (two of them on the same exact day this week) and their fans are in mourning as of right now. I tried the 1 vs. 100 beta this week and I got over half of the questions correct. I've almost made it to the top of the leaderboards of a certain game (which I'll mention later in this blog), so I'm happy about that. Overall, it was a tough month, not just by my achievement on my gaming progress, but also a month of remembering the fallen, both past and present.

With that said and done, I'll begin my monthly progress (most of it is text-only BTW).

6h05tly In Dream Land: PS3??!!!

A new topic for my blog posting.

This weekend (or earlier/later? The 6h05t can't even keep track these days...) I dreamed that I bought a PS3 at my hometown's local game store!

Now, here was the catch from this dream...

Most of my dreams are realistic, not imaginative. And what I mean by this is that I don't fly around the world or have these cool abilities that rival that of a god. So this is a bit of a downer for me since I do want my dreams to have these kinds of things!

Anyway...

I bought the PS3 and seconds later I returned it because I didn't have enough spare change for anything else.

What does this mean for the 6h05t? How am I ever gonna save up for a PS3 right now? I'm gonna be busy with studying for my fall c1asses for the remainder of my summer break, which means no time for a part-time job.

Does this mean it's time to get a PS3? I have no idea.

Have you had dreams like these that told you of your destiny or anything similar to that?

That's all for now. See Ya!

(And I'm preparing to get ready for my June blog so be sure to check it out when it comes )

I'm This Close to Being Victorious!!!

If you have Xbox Live and own Banjo-Tooie for XBLA, check the leaderboards on the mini-game: Chompa's Belly.

As of right now, I'm 8th on that leaderboard. It's getting harder though as I tried so many times to break my current record of 143.

Maybe I should add this to my June monthly blog as a serious skill.

Just a little update on my gaming progress.

See Ya!

The 6h05t's E3 2009 Impressions Blog!

First thing's first. I wasn't able to watch Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony's press conferences live this week due to a busy (and others-hogging-the-computer) schedule. But I've managed to get in the know in the past two days so that's cool. And it will be the first time in my Gamespot ventures that I didn't recieve the "watch-the-press-conferences" emblem like I've always did in past four years being active (I've been active since 2006 under my old username, FTW).

Okay, let's get with the best of what I've seen at E3's big press briefings!

MICROSOFT

Biggest Impression: Project Natal. Finally there is some competition for Nintendo! Even though this was announced from M$ this year, I'm very interested on how they will pull this off when they unveil more about this in the future. I wonder how FPS will work with this thing (which was not demonstrated on the video Microsoft showed to the audience).

Since I had my 360 online that day, I got the info about Natal through their service, plus other games that got me interested, such as Metal Gear Solid Rising and Left 4 Dead 2.

Overall Rating for Micro: 8 out of 10

---

NINTENDO

Biggest Impression: Team Ninja's Metroid: Other M for Wii!!! When I heard the man ask Samus "Any objections, lady?", I knew that could be Adam, or the computer named after him from Metroid Fusion for GBA. And could this be the first time we see gaming's leading female protagonist speak for the first time in the series' history? I can't wait for Team Ninja to show more of the game as the months go by. And the game will arrive in 2010!!!

Overall Rating for Ninty: 8 out of 10

---

SONY

Biggest Impression: Team Ico's The Last Guardian. When I saw the trailer for this game, I almost cried from its sheer beauty of the game and the soothing yet sad orchestrated music that played in it. After trying long and hard to afford a PlayStation 3, this is the reason I must own one now. And that giant creature looks so cute Can't wait for this game to come, whenever it comes out.

Overall Rating for Sony: 9 out of 10

---------

What did you like from any of the E3 press conferences?

See Ya!

Also, I decided to not do my May monthly blog (as planned) after all. I know some of you, friends and brethren of monthly blogging, are upset (or not, lol) about this. I just didn't have time to prepare myself due to the hype of E3, and I will plan ahead for my June blog with the exception of mixing in my May progress within the blog. But don't count this as a double-feature blog since I will be very brief on my May progress on my June blog.

With that said and done, See Ya (for real this time )

The 6h05t's Last Blog..... For May 09 =P

Didn't mean to freak anyone out with the title. I plan on posting attention-getting blog titles from here on out.

Anyway...

Just a few quick notes: I may have to miss watching the Nintendo and Sony E3 press conferences next week due to a few errands, but I will (if possible) watch Microsoft's press briefing next week. I've heard G4TV is having a 24-hour (or something like that) coverage of the E3 event all week next week (someone correct me on this, my sources are a bit dry at the moment?). And I just have a stupid question, if anyone has the proper knowledge: Will sites like Gamespot have the Live events (press conferences, etc.) like they always do each year?

The reason why I asked this question is because GS last year kinda had a tough time (or was it my PC?) getting some of the Live footage of Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony's press conferences. I went to G4's website and their streaming video was horrible!!!! It would freeze up the entire time and I went back and forth between their site and Gamespot's until GS's streaming issue was fixed.

Changing the subject...

To my Monthly-blogging brethren and to everyone else who enjoys reading someone's progress each month, I will be working on my May blog after E3 is over. I still have to prepare for it and I will inform everyone at the Monthly Blog Union about this. Be sure to look forward to it the week after E3 comes to a close.

In other news (Who cares about news these days?)...

As some of you know, during my winter break several months ago I blogged about completing a number of games before I returned to my Spring semester. And that task I created for my three weeks of freetime turned out to be a debacle for me. Well, I'm going to give it another go. But this time, rather than three weeks, it will be three months. I created a list of games I want to finish before I return to campus in late August. So without further ado, here are the games:

Beyond Good and Evil, Okami (Wii), No More Heroes, Star Fox Adventures, God of War (I, II, Chains of Olympus), Half-Life (PS2), Psychonauts, Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando, Episode 2 (Orange Box), Half-Life 2 (Orange Box), Fable I and II, Mass Effect, and Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath.

Some of them I can finish quickly, but most of them will take longer for me to complete.

(Okay, going back to E3 2009...)

For Nintendo: I'm expecting a comeback from them, better games, The Conduit, and hopefully a new Zelda game for Wii (fingers crossed for this one).

For Microsoft: Assassin's Creed 2, Mass Effect 2, curious about their motion-sensing device, and... um... I'm actually not sure what else to add here

And for Sony: Any new info about the PSP version of LittleBigPlanet as well as the rumored new design for the PSP (if Sony ever plans on responding to these rumors that is).

Time to wrap it up...

What are you expecting/excited for/etc. at this year's E3?

See Ya
