Officially on Break

Well, I finally get my full month off. Man, my finals were a joke, I barely had to study and I still did well...

So how is everyone? I noticed a lot of people left the site. The only people I've seen around that I know are some of the YYH board regulars, spiritwave, supermeteor, Darkknight and occassionally Ensatsu-ken (That busy bastard ). Otherwise, a lot of people have left it seems.

Anyway, I figure I'll be bored if I don't find stuff to do over the break, so I came up with a few ideas:

-Get in contact with some old friends... Seriously, a lot of them moved pretty far away. One of my friends even went over to California

-Make "Afterimage's guide to the YYH manga". Now that I have a scanner this is very possible, and if tv.com decides to cooperate in allowing me to put the scans up (It might take a miracle). Oh, and let me know if you want to help out. I was basically going to throw in some facts on each character as well as some theories with evidence to back them up.

-Redo and complete my picture power levels for DBZ.

-Complete my video game ideas. When I've come up with a few decent ones I'll even post them on here and you guys can tell me what you think of the idea.

-Holiday shopping

-Boring family stuff.

.... That's about it besides doing some work for extra money. What do you all plan on doing over Christmas vacation?

Going to College

Yep, I'm finally leavng for college tommorow. I can't wait to see what it's like, living on my own. Not to say I won't miss my family, but college can end up being a really cool experience for me and I can't help but feel excited (Maybe a little nervous too).

The draw back to this is that I'll be pretty damn busy with college work and studying, so I won't be coming on here for a while. I'm thinking I'll take a one month break at the most from online stuff... It's not like I've been posting a lot here lately anyway.

I'll post a little tonight and tommorow morning, and then I'm off to college and won't be on for a while. So see you all around.

I finally saw the Dark Knight

On a random Tuesday, I decided enough was enough and I had to see the Dark Knight. All of the good things I had been hearing, I just couldn't put it off any longer....

The movie was very good. It's made clear that the characters are the strong point of the movie. I liked that. It wasn't your typical superhero movie that tries to satisfy the viewer with just action (Not that there's anything wrong with that). The message was made clear, and though I hate to use the word most of the time (Because I'll sound like one of those "Proffessional" reviewers), it was deep.

The actors all did well. I have no complaints at all. The replacement for Katie Holmes was way better, the guy who played Batman did a great job, though his "Scary voice" needs a little work, the actor for Harvey Dent was easily one of the most memorable characters thanks to a few great quotes and an even greater sense of irony in his character, then of course, the actor for the Joker was great. I originally wondered if I'd like him as the Joker and now I'm kicking myself for doubting him. He was funny when he was supposed to be, and disturbing when he was supposed to be. He played the role extremely well and he definitely raised the bar for movie villains.

The plot itself, over the course of 2 and a half hours was brilliant. It delt with the issues you'd expect a hero to deal with all while taking a somewhat realistic aproach. I won't reveal much for those of you who haven't seen it, but I'll say the movie takes no prisoners... sometimes.

In short, I really liked the movie and can't wait to see what they come up with next. On another note, this movie had a ton of memorable quotes. It's comparable to Star Wars

E3... Not so Good?

What was up with E3 this year? I thought so much more would have been revealed, but it was sadly boring and most of it was stuff we already knew about. I didn't like any of the press conferences

360: I didn't see the whole thing, but sadly there was nothing really "New" being shown. Ya, there were some new trailers and I like the way Gears 2 is shaping up, but that's about it. It was boring, but for what it's worth, it wasn't the worst. I have my eye on RE5, of course, and I'm stunned at how difficult it looks.

PS3: I was a little more excited about PS3 because afterall, I own the system and I wanted to see what was coming up. Though I liked this one the best, it still wasn't that great. I was hoping for some footage of the new Jak game I've been hearing about, but I got nothing there. On the bright side Resistance 2 gives me the feeling it will surpass the 1st one, though I keep getting the feeling Killzone 2 is heavily overated... But I guess I'll just have to wait and see. Similar to Xbox's presentation, it really wasn't that great, but still passable I guess. I'll be keeping an eye on the game 'Dead Space" too, it looks promising.

Wii: This might be the worst Nintendo E3 I've ever seen. They brought almost nothing to the table, and I get the feeling Nintendo is showing signs of weakness. It seems without their big name titles (Mario, Zelda, smash bros. ect) they've got nothing but gimmick games such as Wii Fit, and it p!sses me off One bright spot was a new shooter coming out for the Wii with impressive graphics called The Conduit. It's just "Promising" though, I really don't know much about it, and yet it's the only part of Nintendo's E3 I really got excited about, which is sad Where's Nintendo's originality gone? Do they even care about real games anymore? Because I know for sure I haven't played a decent game for the Wii since Brawl (Which was awsome). Hell, there were still some titles they could have used. They could have made a new Star Fox game, or how about F-Zero? GX was easily one of the best racing games I've ever played. All in all, Nintendo's was the worst. Sorry Nintendo, Animal Crossing doesn't cut it, give us a real game please.

Yep, needed to get that off my chest, it figures the one year I actually have G4, E3 is a complete let down
