apparently telling ppl that i had a modded box and the fact i would do it again is apparently a god-awful thing to say

it does violate GS's terms of use, due to those things bein illegal

they cut my level and a TON of points, but idk it dont mean jack anyways

till next time,

Farewell gamespot

Over the last week or so, i've been called a butthole, an idiot and a prick I've had two blog posts dedicated to how big an idiot i am. Having just been informed that the second blog post calling me an idiot is acceptable, as it doesn't mention me directly, as well as being moderated myself for reasons i cannot agree with, i've decided it's time to move on.

A place where a user can relentlessly insult and abuse other members and be allowed to continue posting, while those who go out of their way to be friendly are punished for petty Terms of Use technicalities is not for me.

Three Year Anniversary on Gamespot

Well it looks like today marks my three year anniversary on Gamespot. The years went by as a flash but I find myself spending less and less time on this site. There is just something about me that doesn't attract me to it like it did in 2007-08. I do come on here occasionally but I don't post much. Today is also my friend's, Navigata, birthday, so if you see him around wish him a happy birthday. Well thanks for reading...for the two of you that probably do and go Red Sox!

It's been rough lately...

Since I started school last Thursday, I have been buried in homework. On top of that, recently I have had late practices that don't start until 5 pm, so I won't be able to post as frequently as I would like. Don't worry people, I'll definitely be posting lots on the weekends. If these late practices stop soon, I can start posting on weekday afternoons again (hopefully).

Fanboyism

Fanboyism is like a disease

It's understandable that we all have things that we know and love. Everyone has different tastes and differing opinions, and that's absolutely fine. One's taste of gaming may differ from other tastes. It's also understandable that human nature is competition, and we constantly crave only the best things, and if it's NOT the best, we can't accept it. We have become very critical over types of media, one including games.

But Fanboyism has spread like wildfire since the beginning of this generation. We may have become very accepting over PS2 and perhaps other consoles(because they were less expensive than they were now), but competition has risen, and so, we separate to different consoles altogether. A fraction goes to PS3, another fraction goes to 360, and another fraction goes to Wii. The problem with this separation is that it got the better of many of us, and it's now taking over our life and how we view other games, and even other people. Many of us are convinced that the console we own is the best and the others just don't offer as much. There are also those who feel the games they favorite are only the best.

Don't get me wrong, it's GREAT to have differences, and it's perfectly normal. How would consoles be this generation without competition? Much worse, you can imagine, especially the Sony giant. Yet we are allowing our bias take control over our decisions and feelings towards something. It's okay to have favorite games and a favorite console, but we are allowing our opinions to take control over how we feel towards other material.

And the disease can get even worse. In some groups, if you do not own a Wii, then you may not be accepted by your peers. Also, in one scenario where you don't own a 360 and your friends do, then your friends may not accept you(and this has happened once with one of my friends, but luckily, it was resolved, so we are friends today). We have become too judgemental over others who own different consoles or play different games, resorting to calling others names like "cows", "lemmings", "hermits", "sheep", "xbots", and more. Yes, these are supposed to be FANBOY names, but even owners of a console can be called that. Sometimes, someone buys a console because it appeals more to them, but their opinion is accused as "biased" and "fanboyish". If he bashes on the other console(and alot of us do), then he is being a fanboy.

It's also widely believed that if you own more than one console, you are not biased, and not a fanboy. This is wrong, however. Although owning different consoles will help limit our bias in different games, there's still favoritism over consoles, and even a 360 owner may still bash on the PS3's lineup and Wii and still think the 360 games are the only good games. Saying one console sucks when you haven't played it is insincerity. The same goes for games that look unappealing to some while it's pleasing to others.

Then there's hype. Of course, we'd all love to believe that hype=best, but what about the games that aren't hyped because they are barely known or not favorited by everyone else? Try different games from the crowd, and if you are one who's indifferent towards the hype, try playing the game that everyone's hyping. You may just follow the hype as well. If you don't enjoy it, do not disregard it as "stupid", but just that you don't enjoy the game. Yes, I know companies have ways to lure people to their games, but don't disregard them as stupid, but "misinformed". Propaganda can be very persuasive and a huge influence over others.

If you or someone you know happens to show some signs of fanboyism, or already admit you're a fanboy(or know it), do not panic or feel shame. Alot of us are in that situation, and while there is no easy cure for it, there are ways to limit it or get rid of it altogether.

The key to curing "fanboyism" rests in changing our habits. We have to become more accepting, less critical, and less bashing.

Here are some ways to help fight the disease:

-If you only own one console, and you are convinced it's the best and try to justify that opinion, you may want to "walk a mile in another person's shoes" and see what the other consoles have to offer. Play their games, and discover every aspect of the consoles. Try to be fair to each one too, as if you don't try to enjoy it, you're still not going to like it, and conquering the disease will be even more difficult.

-If you own all consoles, but continue to bash on the others and justify your opinions, (for example, you favorite the PS3 and bash on all the others because of "no good games"), then you may want to try to play more games on the other consoles that you continue to bash. If you still can't enjoy them, that's okay, but don't try to justify your opinions. Acknowledge that other opinions' are important too.

-If you are the type of person who is convinced his games are the best and can't take bashing of his favorite games, remember that these are just games, and not you personally. Everyone has the right to enjoy what games they choose. If you can only enjoy a certain type of games, you may want to try out other games. For example, if you only like shooters or only RPGs, try some platformers, racers, and several other genres of games. You may find more that appeal to you.

-If you are a very critical, judgemental person, then you may want to lighten your expectations. High expectations for everything may lead to disappointment. Also, not enjoying the game for one reason may mean you are too frustrated with that reason. Just try to lighten up and overlook that area. For example, if a shooter's aiming is causing you not to enjoy the game, then try to overlook it. You may enjoy it more if you overlook problems like this. A game also doesn't need beautiful graphics to be pleasing. Also, try not to judge too much and just allow yourself to enjoy the games, if possible. Also, try not to think that your opinions are the best, or that people who enjoy relatively simple games are simple-minded or dumb.

-It's alright to compare, but if it becomes a habit, this would become a problem. Try to not compare as much, and just enjoy the games for what they are. If you write reviews, just judge every game as if it were the only one like it.

Fighting off this disease will be difficult, but it's not impossible. We just have to let go of how we feel towards other things. Again, don't be afraid to admit that you have the disease. Regretting to admit to yourself this problem may be a regret and slowly take away from your life.

My reason for leaving GS

It all started a couple of months ago, when gaming became the last thing on my mind.It was at the beginning of April.I spoke with my dad for a couple of hours and he told me he isn't feeling very well.He had tremendous pain in the right part of the stomach, near the liver.I was of course concerned but he told me not to worry cause he's gonna make some tests.I have to say now, that my dad is a medical doctor. He knew probably what he had at the time but didn't wanna worry me perhaps.Anyway,he left the city, without telling me,to get some tests done. Also,my parents are divorced.Anyway,I could get a hold of him for almost a week, until,I finally reached him on the Saturday just before Easter. He told me he was operated at the stomach,he wasn't very specifical, but told me everything was ok.I wanted to go see him but he told me not to.I respected his wish.I called him daily for a week, until I could stand it anymore, and went alone by train to see him.He was in bad shape. He was thin before the surgery, but now he was incredibly skinny.I was worried, the doctor told me he has liver cancer. My dad didn't agree,he told me it was something else and that's what's causing him to be ill.I didn't know what to believe. My dad is a very known doctor in my city and he didn't want people to know he is ill.But the word came out and he was pretty mad that people knew.He stayed for a further month in that city, having some treatment, but mostly he took the medication he thought was good for him.He knew what he was doing.Everyone said that,so I have to believe he was a bloody good doctor.Because of the insurrance company,he had to come home,at the local hospital. He didn't want that, because everyone there knew him,as he was their colleague before he got sick. After a month of visiting him by train 2 a week,he came home after many attempts by ambulances and helicopters. He was hospitalized at Intensive Care, where not long ago he was Head of Intensive Care.He contiued with not telling me what's wrong. He kept saying everything is going to be ok.But he was getting worse and worse.I was of course worried. All my friends told me that I'm acting strange, they thought something is wrong with me.After he was hospitalized at Intensive Care, the whole town knew.He didn't like that.He didn't like visitors,he didn't want people to see him like that. All skinny and without any power, not being able to move in his bed.He told me one day that he has hepatocellular carcinoma. That is cancer of the liver.I told him to get some treatment but he said that he knows no one at Oncology. He told me he couldn't get a hold of anyone from Oncology to give him some treatmeant.I thoght he didn't want to and I was mad.One day,a nurse told me that he is very bad,and that he hasn't got much time to live.I was petrified.I knew this was coming, but I kept believing that he's gonna make it.He began not to be able to speak very good,he had trouble breathing and massive stomach pain.He began not to recognize people and forget things. This was for like a week. Then one day, when I got to the hospital,he didn't recognize me,he couldn't speak anymore,he had his eyes opened but was just staring. He was in a coma.I kept visiting him, believing that he's gonna come out of the coma.Saturday night,I went to visit him at about 23:00 and he was sleaping, actually in a coma.I went home, couldn't sleep and woke up at 5:00 in the morning.I couldn't sleep anymore and watched a movie,Angels and Demons. When the film was over,I heard my mom's telephone ring,so I went to stay with her,as I was alone since I woke up,and wanted not to be alone anymore.I thought that she's gonna have to go to the hospital or something as she is a medical doctor as well and she was needed or something.I got near her bedroom door, her door was opened. She told me: "A murit Liviu" ("Liviu died").I felt like falling from a tall building and hitting the ground.I made a few steps and fell on my knees.I was devastated. We rushed to the hospital, and the doctor who was on duty told us that his heart gave up.But he didn't die in pain, and that they gave him all the medication he ever needed not to feel the huge pain. That day was horrible. My grandparents from my mother's side came as quick as they could,as my father's parents are dead. That day was long.I took a pill to sleep but it didn't work at all.The following day was even harder,I had to take my father to a chapel, where people came to mourn him. It's a custom in my country. It was hard to see so many people come and give me their condoleances. It was a though day.Not many people came and I was worried for a while.Only about 100 people came. The next day,was funeral day.Probably the toughest of them all.More than 200 people came. The ceremony was long, and I hated it,cause the priest had a speech, about doctors and their roles in life.I hated that.I was always proud that my parents are medical doctors.I love that. And it was hard for me to hear all that. And hear from many people how my dad saved their life.It was a very though day. That night I took 3 pills but still didn't sleep. My dad had one big wish,to see me at 18.He wanted to see me with a driver's licence. That didn't come true.He died on the 21st of June at about 7:00 in the morning. He was born on the 29th of june 1949.He was 59.I was born on the 30th of June 1991.He didn't see me get to 18,and that is one of my biggest regrets,as I know he wished to see me grow up well. After his death,I am sure of some things.I'm not going to cry anymore,as I'm sure he didn't want me to be like this,he was a tough guy.I also know, that I have to work hard to becoma what he was.And one more thing,I'm going to be a medical doctor, becuase I was incredibly proud, that he was a doctor.I've learned a lot from him while growing up.I needed him the most right now,but I'm sure he's looking after me right now.Life is tough and unfair, but it teaches us things.I learned a lot,and I'm going to make him proud.

This is why I wasn't on GS for such a long time, but I we'll be back when I'm ready.

Thanks!

Glen Johnson agreed to joined Liverpool

so now Liverpool have agreed with Portsmouth with a bid to sign Glen Johnson at a price of 17.5 million and that is alot for a right back who might not perform although it might twist around a bit as Portmouth still owe us 7 million for signing of Peter Crouch. so it looksnow Alvaro Arbeloa will be signing for Real Madrid who have recently agreed to sign Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo. Hopefully now we will buy more Talent to the Squad for to win the League.

PLEASE STAY ALONSO AND MASCHERANO!

New Need for Speed Idea

UPDATE - ROUGH DRAFT EDIT 1

After reading lots of comments on here and other big videogame forum sites such as Gamespot, I decided to write an idea for the next Need for Speed game. I was planning on posting it on here as well as sending it directly to EA.

Honestly, I don't understand why EA went back to the racing simulation like ProStreet. They claim the reason ProStreet wasn't a hit was because it was a fully racing simulation game. But I believe they are wrong. I believe the reason it was frowned upon was because people don't want a racing simulation game from Need for Speed. They can get that by buying Gran Turismo, Forza, or any of the other fully racing simulation games. What the people want from EA and the Need for Speed franchise is the illegal, street racing scene. That's what really hit it off with the series.

Now I believe that we need to return and make almost a Underground 2/Most Wanted mix game with Next Gen updates and graphics of course.

With all this that I have read, I have compiled a game that I think will satisfy most. I do try to add as much realistic touches to this game as possible though so it still has the real life feel and effect. This is the game I have created. Please leave comments and let me know what you think. Give input if you'd like and also sign off on it if you agree because I think the more people that agree, at least with the basis of the story mode and game, then we can maybe get it through to EA and have a chance to get a good quality game out of them. We can fine tune the little stuff later, but for now. Let's get away from this racing sim and back to what Need for Speed should be.

Need for Speed: Back To The Streets©

Need for Speed returns to the streets and is here to stay with Need for Speed: Back to the Streets! Experience the world of street racing in an all new view where you start from nothing and work your way up through not only racing but meeting people and making contacts to get you further! Take on your competition from the streets of the City to the Beach!

Story/Background:

Ryan Patrick Michaels aka "RPM" has lived on the outskirts of Paradise Beach all his life. He recently moved into the heart of the city so he could attend a community college and hopefully find direction in his life. But disaster struck and Ryan soon ran out of money. He had always had a passion for cars and now in need a job, turned to Redline Performance. With some luck, Ryan was able to score a job driving parts and stocking.

One day at work, Ryan happened to over here some guys buy a turbo, that there was a big street racing going down that night on Sunset Drive. Ryan got off work at 8:00 so he thought he just might swing by and see what happens. When Ryan arrived, he was stunned to see the number of people that were gathered around the racing cars. There must have been hundreds! He struggled to get up close and to see the beautiful cars. A few minutes later a woman ran out in front of the cars. She held her arms up, and then quickly threw them down. The cars went flying off the line, RPMs screaming and turbos spooling up. Ryan immediately knew this is what he wanted to do; become a street racer and rule the city of Paradise Beach.

As you play through the career mode, you begin working for Redline Performance by day, and racing and building up your ride and rep by night, becoming the King of Paradise Beach.

Once you begin to earn enough money and have a high enough rep, you then have the option to leave Redline Performance and buy a piece of real-estate in which you build your own Garage and Performance shop with your own touches. There, you can build your own cars, tune them, and even dyno them! Of course you need to have enough money to buy the lifts and dynos for your garage before you can do that and start making the big money. Let's just hope your shop is big enough for all the business!
