After getting lost for time and pulling 2 all nighters, yesterday evening I completed Assassin's Creed 2's storyline. I highly recommend this game for the gameplay and the storyline. If for some reason you never played the first game, I suggest you do because you will be lost with the plot because there was no recap or review of the first game. If you did, the game follows basically the same pattern and gameplay as the first however they restructured the entire mission outline making most missions feel unique and you'll hardly be doing the same thing twice (well except for assassinations....duh). Plus there is a huge number of side missions and things to do in the large open world. Unlike the first game that didn't have much to do except collect flags, this one has loads of optional quests to keep you occupied.
I also managed to sneak in 2 levels of Left 4 Dead 2 while playing AC2 and I have to say, even though I'm one who feels the bloodier and gorier the better, this game was a little disturbing because of the over the top gore with melee weapons. The gore wasn't exaggerated, it was just realistically disturbing
, but I still love it
. So far, I've only completed the Parish and Hard Rain levels, both of them provided a new experience. Parish being in the daylight and Hard Rain being in stormy weather. I have to say I was really impressed with Hard Rain, I cannot explain it because of possible spoilers. You'll have to experience it yourself. I'm saving Left 4 Dead 2 to play in the night (although it's not that scary anymore). My major complain about this game is your AI team mates. They are not as good as the previous game. What I realized, they don't stick with you when you go off path to explore or moving foward too fast, unlike the first game, instead they tend to stick to where you should be going. You also cannot depend on them much, if feels more like a solo game with assistance from your team mates rather than a team based game. I need to play the other levels before I can say more. If you're playing with 3 other friends you should be okay
I'm not sure what game I'm going to start next, I still want to play some more Assassin's Creed 2, but I may soon dive into Call of Duty: Modern Warefare 2 or Jurassic: The Hunted
