Well it is that time of the week again and I'm ready to post my weekly Space Blog. A few things happened this week worth talking about, if you've been keeping up with my posts you'll have an idea already. First off I'll probably give my thoughts on the Academy Awards, that shouldn't last long, then I'll let you guys know how I feel about my most recent purchase Call of Duty 4, after that I'll be getting into the real meat of the blog with another dilemma. So I guess I better get started here.
Like I said first I'll be talking about my thoughts on the Academy Awards or Oscars, which ever you'd like you call it. I can't say I disagree with any of the choices because I really did love There Will Be Blood and No Country For Old Men, so I was content with either winning. Although it does seem like There Will Be Blood got a little ignored, sure Daniel Day Lewis got best actor but that was obvious. I'm talking about the film, it was incredibly good yet received, I think, only one Oscar outside of Best Actor. Although had it received more No Country For Old Men would have probably received less considering they seemed to be competing. Either way I'm pretty happy with the results. Although that isn't, to me, what the best part of the night was. Anybody who watched probably knows already how emotional the Best Song category became. I couldn't have been happier with the results of that, and then Jon Stewart amazed us all and brought Marketa Irglova(forgive me if that is misspelled) back on stage to give her thanks. It was an all around good night.
So on to my thought on Call of Duty 4. I must say I am pleased I bought it, if not only because it will be known as Game of the Year by most and it is probably good to have around. On top of that I have been having some serious fun with the multiplayer. I played through the single player way back in November when I rented the game, but I didn't get to spend the time with multiplayer I wish I had. As of now I am level twenty eight, brilliant ranking system by Infinity Ward there, the unlockables are fair and rewarding, they never feel like the higher level players are getting too good or rewards.
Now on to the most important part of this post, what system should I buy next? The choices are Wii and PS3, I already own a 360. Originally I was planning on a Wii because it is cheaper and its games are vastly different from the 360's games. Then a couple days ago Sony announced the Metal Gear Solid 4 and DUALSHOCK 3 bundle and now I'm leaning towards that. The PS3 still has plenty of games that different enough from anything the 360 has to offer to warrant a purchase. The PS3 is also easier to find and the cheapest BluRay player around(not that I'd be using it much). So I started setting money aside now, the new PS3 is rumored to come out around June so that is plenty of time to save up and make up my mind. As always I'd like to see your thoughts, please try not to make this a system war. Eventually I will be owning all of these fine systems, but I just don't have the cash or time to buy them all at once.
So that's it, this week's Space Blog. Thanks for reading and please keep comments civil. As always next week I'll be posting a new episode(number 3) of Deals! around Monday and another Space Blog toward the end of the week.
Until next time...that was SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOG!!!
