No! Please Say It's NOT So! The Replacements Undergoes Facelift!
Okay, one of my favorite shows on the Disney Channel when I do watch it is The Replacements. Frankly, I'm just a huge fan of the humor, the plots and well...the animation! Atleast, I was... That is until someone at Disney decided to pull an animations facelift with the show!! Just like AD:JL, The Replacements will premiere season 2 on March 10th with an all new style.
It's soooo hideous! I can understand if they're trying to make Todd and Riley look older but there is just no need for what they've done. Tod looks like he's much older now. Honestly, the animation *which some condemned for not being too good from the get go* is horrible. I'm just praying the quality of the show doesn't go downhill with it. It seems to me that they are attempting to appeal to a larger audience, but personally I don't get the point.
What sucks is...I saw it coming... At the end of season one, the episodes like London Calling and Clueless started having darker paints used on them. SOMETHING I'VE ALWAYS DESPISED ABOUT DISNEY: somehow I think that they equate darker colors for either maturity or better quality. Just look at Kim Possible. The further the show progressed, the darker the colors became. It really really bothers me.
Oh well, I can forgive animation *as I did with AD:JL-which in my opninion actually worked although it could have been tweaked just a lil bit more...* so long as the show itself doesn't fall apart. From what I've heard, the show is going to be actually taking a sitcom route. I think they started trying that with TENS too, but it never fully developed. What I mean is, before, The Replacements was just a fun shtick to watch when you needed a laugh but not a complex plot to follow from one episode to the next. There was no fear of missing whether or not Jake and Rose had a moment. There was no fear of wondering if Ron would ever become a great boyfriend for Kim, etc. It was just funny 15 minutes at a time (or 30 for two episodes) for a good dose of entertainment.
But now, there will be 30 minute segments which further pushes me in my theory. Basically, I think they're going to turn The Replacements into a show that one can follow and take devoted interest in, root for characters or plotlines, etc. Okay, so I'm torn about this if it does turn into that. Why am I torn? Well, I love the show as it was in season 1, so simple. But at the same time, I love writing fanfiction for it, so I would definitely love to see more development. I especially want to know more about how Dick and K met, how they came to want to adopt, if there was a reason why Conrad chose them specifically, etc. So I can't deny that this really gets my attention. Plus, I think it's hilarious that Buzz has become more a part of the group and would love to see some development on his part...the same with Jacobo. In fact, I've always been a fan of the Riley/Jacobo pairing and alright with the Riley/Buzz pairing. I guess Johnny Hitswell just annoys me a little too much. And he's not developed nearly well enough to change that...so, unless they do...
I also hope that nobody changes voice wise. That includes all characters including Sierra and Sheldon! Seriously, I hate it when voices change. The only one that could change to an actual boy would be Jacobo. He is currently voiced by overused but extremely talented Candi Milo. And, if you're a fan of Candi the voice can be irksome and not in a good way. Basically, too many times when I hear Jacobo, I immediately think of Candi's work as Dr. Wakeman on My Life as a Teenage Robot. It's just so very similar and it takes away from the character in my opinion. However, that's the only change! I love all of the other voices, and changes would just ruin it! And I especially hope they don't change Taksumi's voice! I'm okay with them ridding her of the armor, but please don't change her voice. That would just ruin it for me. I'm also a fan of Todd/Taksumi
Alright, I guess that's enough rambling on The Replacements. I'll reserve actual judgement until March 10th...However, until then, my apprehension will remain.
Lose A Few, Gain One
I've only been lurking about lately. And so I decided to retire from a few of my guides. There's Drake Bell, since I lost all interest in him. And then there's Traylor Howard from Monk. I had some regrets about that one, but I just lost interest in her as a person. I still LOVE the show Monk, if that isn't obvious by my icon and all that
And I still love Traylor's character, Natalie Teeger more than anyone (with the exception of Monk hiimself of course...oh who am I kidding! I love all of the characters!) And how about the 2 part season 6 finale! Omgosh! I've watched the preview for part two (which airs this Friday) at least a dozen times! I found it on USA Network's website last night and literally got so hyper over it that I couldn't get to sleep because I was so (and still am) anxious for Friday!!
Okay, enough for Monk for now, although it's all I can think about and talk about right now and I'm so sad that the season's almost over...
Anyways, although I retired from those two guides, I gained Anneliese van der Pol's guide. Speaking of Anneliese, there's rumors buzzing about that she and Orlando recorded a duet for Disney Mania 6. But seeing as Mitchel and Emily also recorded a duet, if Ann and Orly did, than there's probably a big chance that it will get dropped for the other duet. Still, I seriously hope that I'm wrong and both duets make it onto the cd!!
I've gained some new fandoms here recently, including the Loliver fandom and I've fallen head over heels for the music stylings of Michael Buble. Oh and iCarly is now one of my favorite guilty pleasures. But beyond that, I guess I'm still tried and true with what I liked before. Of course, the writer's strike kind of halted everything for a period of time anyways, but I'm glad it's over and everything can get back to normal.
Yes, I'm Still Alive...
I really hate school. It makes coming online impossible. And then, on top of it, I hate my cable connection. They kept unhooking our cable connectionbecause of an error on their end and their system. And then when we did get it "fixed" it the modem kept screwing up because again, on their end they had us down for a DSL connection when we have the standard cable connection for the internet. IT was a complete mess.
But now I'm back, but of course, to find myself reported MIA for good and understandable reason. So I'm hoping that I got the situation cleared up in time. I feel completely horrible for not having time to even get to a library. But school has been hectic this past semester. My persuasive writing professor was completely unorganized and has yet to give me my final grade...
But on the bright side, now I have a laptop, so I can get on whenever I like and don't have to worry about someone needing the computer, etc.
As for Disney...I don't know. I just feel very let down as this year is coming to a close. Theatrically, I'm still waiting for National Treasure 2 this Friday and I guess Enchanted was everything a girl can hope for (although I was extemely disappointed with the ending), but other than that, it's been somewhat of a let down...no wait, I forgot about Meet The Robinsons! It seems like so long ago that I forgot that it was only back in March!
Then there's music wise...I just feel as though the same artist(s) is getting all of the glory and attention and that although there are many other capable contenders, they are being overlooked.
And finally, the Disney Channel...I'm definitely looking forward to Minute Men with Jason Dolley. Also, Luke Benward is the son of Aaron Benward and grandson of Jeff Benward. They used to have a father son music group called AaronJeffreys and they actually performed at my church several several times when I was younger before Aaron went solo for a small stint of time. And of course the grandson of legend, Steve McQueen is in the film as well.
But anyways, back to THIS year. Let's see, first Naturally, Sadie was dissed although in my opinion it was much better than Life With Derek, which I will still not watch (and it's not because I haven't given it a fair amount of chances). Hannah Montana is on everywhere I look. Cory in the House isn't given much spotlight. They've started airing new The Replacements episodes on Mondays. J.P. Manoux has overstayed his welcome with The Emperor's New School-although props for them scoring John Goodman again. Of course they went and ruined the ride by adding Miley Cyrus to the voice over line up! I've now had to suffer the loss of Kim Possible twice in my life time
But I'm okay with that one because season four was definitely my tv highlight of the entire year! And of course, there's the cancellation of TSL. I just feel like what started out as an excellent year for DC just really went downhill fast. But again, that's just my opinion. And I think it's proven by the way the year is ending with the You Year's Eve or whatever it's been donned. To me, it just doesn't add up.
Oh, but I do have a question in regards towards the New Year's Eve commercial. Why is Allison Stoner in it? Does this mean that she has an upcoming project with Disney? If so, that's exciting. I used to get very annoyed with her, but she's matured alot and it would be nice to see an old familiar face on Disney Channel again. Heck, if I had been the Disney execs. I would have paid her a good deal to do a Mike Super Short Show spinoff because honestly, the Really Short Report makes kid actors everywhere look pretty bad. Okay, maybe I'm just being harsh. But it is pretty contrived.
I guess there's always Dadnapped and J.O.N.A.S. to look forward too *sigh* but that's only because of Kevin ![]()
What A Summer/Retirement
Gah! I was without internet for awhile! But now that I'm back, I've decided to retire from being editor of My Life as a Teenage Robot. Why? Because, frankly the show isn't on anymore, minus new episodes in other countries, and thus I am unable to keep up with it. Also, I was bombarded (even before losing internet) with tons of episode submissions that I believe may or may not be correct as I haven't seen hide or hare of ANY of these episodes via the official MLAATR blog, but HAVE seen fanfictions quite similar on fanfiction.net. My guess is that people are submitting fanfctions as actual episodes, and I really don't feel like dealing with it seeing as, even when I reject the submissions, people just keep submitting them. So, I'm done with that.
I'm glad to be back, and I am happy to say I am STILL a huge fan of The Suite Life (although there were WAAAY too many plotlines going on last nigt XD)...and still can't stand Hannah Montana that well
I'll post more of an update later.
Back, Oh, and Speaking Of...
After a month of absence I am back and probably for the summer. I've been busy adjusting back into the summer intern routine, and I think I finally got it down so that I can mix work with, well, not work
Right now I am finally updating my Disney RE-Mastered site. I put it on hold because my host's server went down for quite awhile. But I plan to have it up by this Friday, Revamped in preparation for the DC Games.
Speaking of the DC Games, I am officially routing for the Green Team because of mine truly Lucas
He's the team captain! My second team of choice is gonna be the Yellow, then Red and Blue tied for last. I'm kinda glad that Vanessa and Zac won't be returning. I guess they were supposedly spending some Zanessa time in Hawaii during the taping. And of course Anneliese was probably preparing for her role on Broadway, while Kay was probably busy with some projects of her own.
Speaking of Kay Panabaker, a week from Friday (June 15, 2007) is the theatrical release of Nancy Drew, in which Kay Panabaker and former co-star Amy Bruckner will both be in. I'm actually more excited for the release of this movie than I thought I could be for an Emma Roberts flick. Actually, if you have seen the promos, you might notice that Nancy Drew will probably remind you of Kay's character, Debbie Berwick, on Phil of the Future.
Speaking of teen detective flicks...I am waiting for a movie release of the Encyclopedia Brown series. I haven't heard of any in the works yet to speak, but I think it would make a nice addition to the silver screen. Much better than live action Bratz film! If they wait a few years, Moises Arias would make a good addition to the cast, but who would play Encyclopedia Brown himself...not sure, maybe a yet to be discovered talent. Either way, if they haven't done it or pitched it within the next 2 years, I'm gonna pitch it myself!
Speaking of...okay enough speaking of's!
That does it for me today.
I Survived Spider-Man 3
Okay so it wasn't so bog-awful that I feel like I only "survived" it. I'm jokingly referring to the fact that I was one of the crazed fans who went to see it at a midnight premiere.
Basically, you'll probably hate the movie, love it, or if you're like me a little bit of both. In my opinion, this one is the truest to the comics and old cartoon and definitely the most comic book-ish. Also, it has a nostalgic feel to some of the scenes. My only true critique is that the end is almost too much to bear...but I won't say why.
There are MANY twists and turns, but what made it so wonderful to me was the powerful message of forgiveness. I just hope some critics don't find the movie too preachy.
After a little less than 6 years, Tobey Maguire finally became Peter Parker. He finally had the spunk that matched the character from the comics. And without going too much into detail, the writers took a huge risk with this movie...especially if it does indeed turn into the final installment as has been debated on and off again.
Oh Where Oh Where Have My College Dreams Gone...
I just don't know what to do. I have wasted an entire semester in college just to learn that maybe this is what I want to do. And now I really want to switch to an English Major with a specialization in Writing and Literature, the only problem? I can't afford the colleges that provide what I want!
I don't get scholarships for various reasons, and I'm also never approved for that much money when it comes to loans for school. I'm in a pickle and it's not fair! My family is so "rich" that the government won't help me, but yet they're really so "poor" that they can't help me pay for college! And I'm only 19! How much money do they expect a 19 year old to have!? I just honestly don't know what to do anymore.
I know what I want in my heart...but am I able to take that kind of risk? Am I brave enough to say hey! This is what I want, and I don't care how much money I have to pay back to get there! Or do I take the sensible route because that's the kind of person I am? Do I look at my surroundings and just accept them for what they are and stop dreaming foolishly?
To dream or not to dream, I guess that's the question I'm asking?
I wish there was a clear cut sign that said, "Go here, you moron!" That would be enough for me! But by saying I need a clear cut sign, am I really saying I need too much before I do anything!
Hmmm, maybe I should try to major in philosophy!
All I want is to get a good education so that I can get a good enough job that I don't hate for the rest of my life. I've seen what it's like firsthand from my parents what it's like to have a job that is decent but makes it hard to pay the bills. I don't want that. I want to atleast try to make something of my life. I just wish it wasn't so dang expensive to do so!
So Come Meet the Robinsons...
Okay, wierd title I know. Just I'm FINALLY going to go see Meet the Robinsons, atleast I'm supposed to. I'm probably going to take my little sibling to see it and the plus is we'll probably catch the 3D showing. I've heard very mixed reviews about this movie and have been under the impression that it won't be funny, it will seem like a drug dream at times, it will be rushed at the end, and I will be happy to finally come to the end of the movie. That said, I still want to see it. Why? Because I know something about how the plot line works, and I am a HUGE fan of those kinds of plotlines. I love the whole concept of time travel, and destiny and how all things work together for good whether you can see it at the moment. It's a reason why one of my favorite movies is Signs, that concept that nothing is accidental. Like the son being born with asthma because (in the movie) it was God's way of protecting him because He knew in advance that it was going to happen. Whether you believe that it is God (I know I do) that causes things to happen the way they do for good, is up to you.
And that's not to say that good can ultimately be found in everything. Tragedies such as the shooting at Virginia Tech is a clear sign of that. Instead it is a time for those of us who did not go thorugh the ordeal ourselves to step up and unite in support and -if you pray- prayer for the victims' families.
Sorry if I'm rambling.
In other news, I'm having troubles with the site. I can't get to some users' profiles because it says the user is invalid or not registered. For example I can't get to lilypad's, I mean Jessica's profile, although the title of her blog is really catchy ![]()
Ramblings and Rants
Hmm, I haven't been on here to blog for awhile. Not that I haven't been here at all. I've actually been hanging out over at LiveJournal, but that's a whole different story. I've also been busy with getting ready for the last few weeks of school which are definitely going to be crazy and hectic. Especially since I have a video project due!!!!
As for a rant or two, I have a user who has been making tons of subs, almost all of which are not in proper format, have not been spell checked, etc. I was understanding at first with some of them because I got an explanation from the user, but I also gave the user advice on how to make proper subs. The matter has still not changed, so now I'm losing patience. I can't go through and fix every single sub. It's a waste of my time and also, the changes I make don't always go live. And then if I have to go back and fix them at a later date, it may appear as though I'm gaming. I'm not sure if the user reads any of my blogs. Whether they do or don't, I'm not trying to be mean, I'm just trying to be practical! The user has proof, but the formatting is completely wrong. What would you do if you were in my situation?
I think that's about it for now.
Some Semi-Late Night Blogging
My first order of business is to give a huge thanks to Dark_Eagle80 for making a T.U. for The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. No worries, I would never think of abusing it.
I experienced that Alert: You are Now and Editor thing today for three different people guides that I have contributed to atleast once. But the even funnier thing was, once I closed the pm's my entire internet went out of control, irratically opening new tabs on its own! Talk about a pain in the neck. It took me a while just to shut down it down!
Also, if anyone wants to hear a full preview of Disneymania 5, they can do so on using the media player on the home page of my website. http://www.disneyremastered.fandomready.com
Think I'll keep it short since it's late, and since I'm too busy working on the new layout for my Disney site and waiting for one of my new fave shows to finish downloading. I'd say what the show is, but it would be a rather embarrassing admission. It's one of those shows where if your friends knew you'd like it...they'd probably burst out laughing. Of course I know that you my friends here wouldn't laugh at me too much
even if you have every right. Hey, even I laugh at myself sometimes as I watch it!!
Finally Heard Clips of ALL Disneymania 5 Songs
Wow, things haven't been leaking out in the Disney world much this year. This time last year, I could have previewed all of the Disneymania 4 songs more than once! Oh well, I'm just glad to have finally heard clips before I rush out and buy it tomorrow.
Hmm, so you're probably not wondering if my predictions were right, but I'm gonna talk about it anyways since it's my blog
Best song on the cd really...I can't decide. Based on the clips it's gonna come down to a race or even tie between the three HSM muchachos, Lucas, Corbin and Drew (and if not a tie-it'll be in that order
). Everlife...hmm, you know I'm an obssessed fan, but their cover for Reflection just doesn't make the grade. Sure I'll probably listen to it. It definitely won't be number one anytime soon on my skip list! But it's just that it sounds waaay too much like "Look Through My Eyes" and it's just a cover of the Christina version. They had the chance to make it their own...and aside more guitar and less diva appeal, it really falls flat in comparison to their other songs.
And there's Miley, sweet little Miley...who picked or was given a song from almost every female singer's favorite princess...and she blew a chance to wow her fans like she's never done as "just" Miley. The song came across as almost an attempt to be like the Skye Sweetnam version (rocky) but there's also too much of an attempt to tease the listening audience with glimpses here and there of the original style. That being said...Miley above anyone else they have chosen EVER, could have actually pulled this song off. If she had blended the vocals from songs such as This Is The Life and Just Like You (and maybe a little bit of Hannah synth) and added it to the song, she probably would have ended up with not only an original, but beautiful rendition of the song. Also there's the added bonus that Miley is good at incorporating talking into her music at the drop of a hat, something that almost every other artist struggles with when doing this song.
I'll make the rest of my critiques shorter...
Let's Get Together by The Go-Go's: Where on earth did they pull this performance from?! And why? This song has yet to see a decent cover (and that's including the original! ech!)
When She Loved Me by Jordan Pruitt: If you don't recall the original as sung by Sarah McLachlan through Jessie the Cowgirl on Toy Story 2, pull out the old vhs or dvd or search the soundtrack for a clip at Wal-Mart. The only difference is maturity of the vocals. You'll also hear what Jordan will sound like in about 10 years or so. Still, I didn't say that it's not a beautiful performance!
True To Your Heart by Keke Palmer: Definitely number 1 on my skip list! I can hardly tell when Keke's singing or not! And she sounds out of step and off key with the music. And if that's not bad enough, it sounds as though she's trying to blend in with the old Raven version which I think she's using as a remix track. I expected more from Keke.
Cruella DeVil by Hayden Pannetiere: Sorry Hayden, still not as good as LaLaine who made the villainesque-ness of the song come across almost silky smooth (couldn't think of a better term!). That said, her voice is nice to listen to and the music rocks. So this one will definitely be one I listen to everytime I listen to the cd.
Colors of the Wind by Vanessa Hudgens: I feel like the sweet Gabriella Montez that America fell in love with has been all but lost forever. Okay, so I'm overdramatic at times, but this song just sounds too much like Pocahontas meets Say O.K. and I almost expect them to announce Baby V at the beginning! Vanessa is a remarkable singer and really could have created a show stopper on this album. Instead...it may eventually find it's way to my skip list.
I leave you with my too main boy bands (those of you still reading are probably jumping with joy that I'm almost through!)
The Jonas Brothers have just enough uniqueness and smarts to take I Wann'a Be Like You and still make it their own! It sounds nothing like Smash Mouth (thankfully) and it's catchy!
And B5, their harmonies shine in the chorus of The Siamese Cat Song and they show off their mellow hip hop vibe through the verses. Well done.
Okay and now I'm done.
Everlife Girls Online
You all know that I have my Disney RE-Mastered site.
Well, I'm happy to announce my new Everlife site, which is currently hosted as a sub-domain on my Disney RE-Mastered site. But it's only until I can get a site for it alone.
It's not entirely finished (I've got to finish the media and extras page) but those will be a sinch to create. So if some of you don't mind, go ahead and take a look around and let me know what you think of the layout. I think it's more proffessional and honestly BETTER than my Disney RE-Mastered one, which will be getting a new layout once I'm finished with the Everlife one (it's so that it will be less of a hassle for me to update
)
The link is: http://disneyremastered.fandomready.com/everlifegirls
If you can let me know of any inconsistencies or errors. (The home page with the news is different from the rest on purpose.) Thanks with your help on this.
And here's a question I'd like to pose...barely philosophical if you will:
Do you find it strange when people over 16 watch shows geared for 3-10 year olds? (Disney Channel and Nickelodeon aside due to their universality). For example I still watch and collect Veggie Tale dvds even though I'm in college.
Don't answer if you don't want. Just was curious about other people's thoughts on the matter since I have friends who are even ashamed to watch the Disney Channel (even though they secretly love it) because they feel like they have to act mature by watching things like wrestling or Bones, etc. (not to say that you can't watch a mixture of those things if you choose.)
And thus ends my parenthesis-ridden blog!
First Spider-Man 3 Graphic (made for desktop background)
http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d128/tslgurl/sp.jpg
That's not the full size. Anyways, I've been busy writing ALOT lately. It's kind of turned into a passion...one that is definitely making me rethink my major! But what else is new in the life of a normal college student right?
In other news, less than a week now until the release of Disneymania 5! I'm mostly excited to hear Lucas Grabeel's cover of "Go the Distance" along with Corbin's cover of "Two Worlds"! Although a find alot of the other songs to be cop outs for several different reasons. One, V is doing a cover of Colors of the Wind...it's been done! The Ashley Tisdale song is just "Kiss the Girl" as is the T-Squad is just the Peter Pan song. Miley is doing "Part of Your World" I'm nervous to hear that one. The Little Mermaid is my all time favorite Disney Princess cartoon an frankly, I have yet to hear a good cover of that song! Jessica Simpson destroyed it, Faith Hill destroyed it, and Skye Sweetnam's rocked out version was catchy at first but really got old, and none of them ever compared to the beauty of the original rendered by Jodi Benson. So basically, now Miley Cyrus has alot of work to make it good. And I'm wondering if they'll enhance her voice. They do for most HM songs but they didn't last year with her Disneymania 4 cover of "Zippedodah".
Then there's Everlife choosing to do Reflection...knowing the voices of Everlife, it might be either really good or really bad. I don't think it's possible to be in between on that one. I was surprised to see B5 listed for the Siamese Cat Song...I gotta be honest, Haylie and Hilary really made it their own on Disneymania 2, but since I love B5, I'll reserve judgement
Another shock was, The Jonas Brothers with I Wanna Be Like You from the Jungle Book. Smash Mouth owns that song in my mind, and even though I've heard a clip from it...it just can't compare. With as much talent and youthful energy as those three have, I just could have pictured their spin on a number of different Disney songs. I think it would be fun if they did a version of "I'll Make a Man Out of You". They could totally change the words to fit them-it's done all the time! And it would be fun and just really unique. I guess that's my problem. 9 out of the 15 songs have been done before...some more than once!
So my props go to The Cheetah Girls, Corbin, Jordan Pruitt, Lucas, The Go-Go's and Drew Seely for originality. Although I was a little surprised to see that Drew Seely is doing a cover from such a recent Disney movie. His song is "Find Yourself" which is actually the end credits song for "Cars" and it was actually dedicated to the Pixar guy that died, Joe Ranft.
I guess I do love to write! Another long blog!
Dragons and Spiders and Pirates...Oh My!
Okay, sorry for the overly used rip off from The Wizard of Oz. This blog is actually about Eragon, Spiderman 3 and Pirates of the Carribean 3.
Today I ran out and purchased Eragon, and I've already watched it once since doing so. It's not that the movie is cinematic genius...in fact I can name atleast a handful of ways I would have made it differently...but I absolutely love Saphira and Murtagh!!
If you don't like spoilers that come along with extended trailers, skip the next paragraph. It may contain spoilers for POTC 3.
I just saw the exclusive, full length Pirates of the Caribbean 3 trailer which has got me pumped for the May 25th release which is a mere 2 months and 5 days wait!! However, I'm a little disappointed by the trailer. It wasn't as exciting as it could have been. The full length trailer for the second film had me on the edge of my seat in the theater wishing the movie I was about to see was POTC! This one, I don't know, had a wierd vibe to it. The humorous scenes with Jack's witty dialougue just seemed placed in the wrong spots, and an important scene which deals with a matter between Elizabeth and Will and Jack was most likely added to make sure the ever-growing popularity of Jack/Elizabeth will be put to rest. Although I doubt it will appease the disappointed fans they'll still have on their hands come time the actual movie. It's a matter they probably didn't think would happen when they teased the audience with the awesome chemistry between Jack and Elizabeth. Maybe they didn't even realize how much chemistry would resonate for viewers. I personally think Will is too good for Elizabeth
but "true love" conquers all I suppose.
Okay, so whenever I think of POTC 3, I start geeking out over the movie that comes out 21 days before it...Spiderman 3! So in an attempt to start getting amped for the release (as if I'm not already amped as it is!!) and because I've been graphic happy lately, I'm going to start creating desktops, sigs, banners and avatars for the movie. All in all, by time the movie gets here, me or someone else who uses my computer will probably be sick of seeing Spiderman!!
Well, guess that's enough for what's been another novel of a blog! American Idol's on tonight...GO JORDIN SPARKS!
Nobody's Perfect...Apparently
With the release of the special edition cd of the Hannah Montana soundtrack tomorrow, comes a song that just, I don't know, seems like a case of mistaken identity. The song is "Nobody's Perfect" and just like last season, this is the song they're already pushing to be number one for season 2. Why do I think there's a case of mistaken identity? Or at least a midlife music crisis?
The intro and outro to the song sounds like the writers ripped off the style of Ashley Tisdale's racy "He Said, She Said" while the background music for the verses sounds like the intro to Best of Both Worlds. And I make these accusations after listening very closely...more than once. The intro goes, "Everybody has those days Everybody knows what, what I'm talkin' about. Everybody gets that way, everone makes mistakes, Everybody has those days Everybody knows what, what I'm talkin' about. Everybody gets that way...actual song comes afterwards"
So here's my complaint about the matter. It's not that the song isn't catchy, goodness knows it's gotten stuck in my head more than once. And it's not that the song doesn't have a good message...if I were a mother, I'd much rather my daughter be singing along to a song that says "My intentions are good, but sometimes misunderstood" and other lyrics about not giving up just because you can't be perfect, rather to a song that says "Lovin like this feels so wicked" and other lyrics about a guy and a girl hookin' up without even thinking about it, and might I mention, Tisdale makes it clear in the song that it might only be a one night fling as she says "Boy just one night with you, all the things we could do..."
So with that said, I'm glad to a certain extent that "Nobody's Perfect" may be Disney's answer to Ashley's genre...but that's where I have the problem, they are taking Miley, and basically using her to pedal what THEY want. Now I know what you're probably thinking, that's what they always do, and that's what they always will do. I just thought that Miley-having as much power as she does now in Disney-would atleast have a little more say in the matter. Or maybe because Miley has once said she looks up to Ashley Tisdale, she wanted to emulate her style...which proves another point: young, impressionable girls are listening to Ashley! So why does she have to "prove" her maturity by singing about things that aren't appropriate. So what if they've probably heard it before! When it comes from someone they really admire, it makes all the difference!
I'm truly sorry for the rant, especially for those who are dear fans of Ashley. Hey, I never said I hated her. I just think she should have stopped for a moment and considered the timeless Spiderman wisdom "With great power comes great responsibility."
As for Miley and Hannah...the only reason why I even really watch Hannah Montana anymore are to support these two fab stars here:

But that doesn't mean I don't want to see Miley do well. She has come so far, and it's clear that she's only in the position she's in because she's been extremely blessed with favor in her life (of course I credit this blessing of favor to God-as does Miley and her fam) I just don't want her to get so caught up in the mess of stardom like so many others have to forget the One that she has claimed is leading her. And I know it's hard because it's hard enough for me WITHOUT the fame.
Sorry for my long novel of a blog and thanks to those kind enough to read it. Here's a word of encouragement as a shout out to Miley and other Christian celebs, and maybe those of you who read this blog and have stuggled or are struggling with an aspect of your own life. In the words of Diana Ross- as so beautifully performed last Tuesday night by this upcoming powerhouse:

"Don't lose your way, with each passing day. You've come so far. Don't throw it away..."
Hello March!
Yes, folks. I'm still around. I just have been pretty busy lately. Even though February comes EVERY year (atleast it has since I was born
) I still never get the hang of only having 28 days. It seems like only yesterday was the beginning of February but really it was the end! I finished that V-Day video I started 28 days ago, but my computer is so whacked that it won't upload it to youtube or anything. Hmm, I'll get it worked out eventually. In the meantime, I have 32 subs to look at in my queue. I guess the stars I'm editor for became much popular overnight
I'm just sitting in class right now. I just finished my midterms and I'm longing for spring break...but I still have to wait another week. Oh well. That gives me one more week to shoot a music video for my final. I'm going to shoot a video of my friends making a "mock" video to the new Everlife song "Faded"
I'm completely obsessed with the Everlife album...in fact I think I'll listen to it right now! I carry it with me on my usb for class purposes ![]()
Well, I want to say I'm sorry for Sesho's loss. I hope your days get brighter than what they have been lately.
Valentines Day Videos
I can't believe it! Tomorrow is the release date of Virtual Villagers 2! Yay me! Also, here's a Happy V-Day to everyone. Speaking of V-Day, I started work on a video but wasn't able to finish it in time for today
But I still plan on finishing it before February's over so I guess it'll be a belated Valentine gift to everyone. However, I do have a Hannah Montana video that's kinda appropriate for V-Day.
Unfortunately, my moviemaker was messing up alot when I made it so it skips and has parts that should have been cutout but weren't for some reason.

I also have a fun one for the fellas seeing as most of my friends on this site are guys anyways. It's called The Moody Girls of Disney.

HAPPY V-DAY!
Disney RE-Mastered and Tomorrow!
I finally moved everything to the new server. The new site url is http://disneyremastered.fandomready.com Unfortunately, you might have to check it more than once, because Shannon-the owner of Fandom Ready announced she's fixing the server. That might just give me more time to fix a few bugs I noticed on my site. Mainly, I need to tweak some of the urls inside the advanced controls because the software that I'm using isn't working right with the hotlinks for some reason.
Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow! I can't believe it's been almost a week already. I'm finishing up my Kim Possible fan video to celebrate.
Now that my week long wait for KP's return is almost at an end, I have another week long wait for something I'm just as excited about...the release of Virtual Villagers 2 is supposed to hit the e-shelves sometime next week!! I've been waiting ever since I got hooked on the game last September/October.
New Disney, Semi-New Fansite, More KP!
If you're a regular to the Disney website, then I'm sure you already know that the site has had a major layout overhaul. It's kinda neat, but really bogs down a person's computer! I think they're also trying to hard to be cool. I was perfectly fine with the old layout. Plus it means I have to change some links in my site.
Speaking of my fansite, it'll be up and running on the new server tomorrow! Would have been up sooner...but college...blech! I'm screen-capping photos from the first episode of KP season 4 for my basically bare gallery.
Here's some re-sampled samples:

Of course the quality's much better at full size.
EDIT- the blog control went crazy, sorry for the first image being so large!
How 'Bout Them Colts!!
What a game! Dungee deserved this win so much. As a Christian, I was ecstatic that the Colts gave alot of credit to the Lord for their win. Another cool thing is, Peyton Manning broke the Sports Illustrated curse! You should really see the air coverage of downtown Indy, it's as crazy as Florida!
As for the promised Kim-relatedness...for those who don't already know, Ron Stoppable is the new running back for the Middleton Mad Dogs. Thought that had a nice tie-in to the Super Bowl football magic.
