Leaving on a Jet-plane
I'm leaving for about a week or so. Going to fly out to California in about 4 hours or so.
Gonna visit my girlfriend, and help her move here, to Florida.
We aren't flying back however. We're driving back. So, road trip!
We'll be driving through California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
We'll be stopping each night in Laughlin Nevada, Albuquerque New Mexico, Oklahoma City, and Tupelo Mississippi, before coming back here to Gainesville.
I should be back sometime on the 19th.
Eighth Entry
So, not too much going on.
I guess I'm approaching 300 forum posts, and It would appear I jumped from Level 5 to Level 7 the other day. Dunno how that happened, but oh well.
A couple of things recently have bothered me, that I've seen on the OT.
The actions of some of our politicians, (namely, the Republican Colorado Congressman, and Presidential Hopefully, Tom Tancredo). He said that if he were elected president, as a deterrent to prevent terrorist attacks on the United States, he would threaten to bomb the Muslim Holy Sites in Mecca and Medina. That is shear idiocy! If you actually plan to follow through on that, it wouldn't matter if we were attacked first. If you destroy either of those two sites, the entire would would be united against us. One thing that is completely covered by the rules of any type of warfare is holy sites. Only a **** idiot would launch an attack like that.
Another thing that's bothered me, I saw in the OT as well. Some guy, I cant recall his screen-name, was posting a topic asking whether or not he was cruel. The situation, the way he described it, was as follows:
He had a girlfriend, but he wasn't sure whether or not he was going to stay with her.
He was with some friends, and one of them he said he did like.
They were drinking and playing "truth or dare" apparently, and he ended up kissing said lovely friend.
His girlfriend called and asked him if everything were okay, to which he lied to her and said yes.
To me, this seems like a simple lack of both judgement and bad up-bringing. And from what I see, it isn't the only case of bad up-bringing. It seems to me that parents just don't take the time to explain to their children the differences between right and wrong, leaving them to discover it themselves. It seems parents are just being lazy, and their children suffer for it. Parents' children can go out, get drunk, cheat on their girlfriends, do drugs, and all that crazy stuff, and it could easily be prevented with communication between parent and child. So that forces me to ask the question..what happened?
What happened that makes it so that parents don't talk to their children anymore? What makes it so that parents cannot communicate to their children the dangers of drugs and alcohol? What makes it so that parents cannot teach their children how to be respectful to members of the opposite sex? And I'm not just talking about guys acting like jerks and pigs to women. I'm talking about women too. In particular, women who don't say "thank you" when a guy holds a door open, women who take their boyfriends or other guys for granted, women who act like spoiled **** who think the world revolves around them. What happened?
Seventh Entry
It's been a while since I last made an entry. Oh well.
So, a couple days ago..the day after my sixth entry I guess, I got modded for the first and second times.. The first one I expected, as I made a bull-crap kinda post in the OT, so that was closed and I got point-reduction. The second one was unfair, IMHO, because I didn't completely hide an offensive word or some such thing (the word was part of a phrase involving mother and then there was an f involved..). At any rate, I dont think I deserved to be modded for that. Oh well.
So, nothing really new in the video game front. Been playing Oblivion on the 360 some. Always fun. :-)
Yesterday, I was interviewed by a reporter regarding video games and the oft-ignored positives of them with people who play them. It was a pre-arranged interview, and I knew the reporter. He came over and we chatted a bit, and he got some footage of me playing some video games, and he asked some questions about games, like why I play them, what keeps me interested in games, responsibility in life and how I have time to play games, stuff like that. All in all, I'd say it was a good interview, and I personally cannot wait to see the final product, and I hope it gets aired on the local news. That would be teh l33t ****. lol.
Next week is my Final in my summer Chemistry course.. hopefully I do well.
Might go see The Bourne Ultimatum tomorrow.
Sixth Entry
Guess I'm making a habit of posting every two days or so now.
So whats new? Hmmm.. Not a whole lot.. I'm trying to take the advice of Spelly-93 in my last blog post, by tracking more people. So far, iI've only added one new contact.
I've decided I also want more emblems next to my name here on GS, so I've been trying to meet some requirements to get some. I know right now I have the requirement met for two new emblems (both tagging related), so hopefully if i keep vigilant with that, I'll be able to add more emblems.
I started playing Oblivion on the 360 yesterday, for a higher gamer score on my gamertag. I already own Oblivion on the PC, so i'm borrowing one of my roommate's copies of it.
mmm.. Pizza smells done, so its dinner time. :-p
Fifth Entry
So what's going on? Not a whole lot. I beat Sonic a day after I got it. And by beat it, I mean all achievements.
Nothing else really going on worth talking about.
