Car Accident

As you can tell by the title, this post is about a car accident. One I was in.

I was out and about with Doug, Michael (my husband) and Courtney (my 6 year old daughter) and we were on our way back to my home. Doug was driving. Then he saw a bird on the road. A bird who was not moving out of the way. So Doug stopped. And then a big boom. We got hit. Scariest moment of my life. Some stuff was a blur with it. I was in big shock.

It wasn't little either. My husband got banged up a bit. Doug has been informed that the car is totaled. And me, well, I've been admitted into the hospital twice so far and am still in quite a bit of pain (ok, so more of a lot of pain). It appears I got it the worst. I'm damaged goods now. I'm not dealing so well emotionally with it either. Basically, it sucks.

Here are some pictures of the car.

Well, there's what is going on in my life. I still have many more doctor appointments ahead in my near and sadly maybe not so near future. I suppose that is all I will share for now.

I hate cars, I love house-guests

My car has been giving me many problems this week. I brought it in on Monday and waited around all day just to find out the mechanic couldn't get to it. Then yesterday I took it in again. It was fixed this time. What did I have done? My rear brakes needed replaced. Everything ok, went to my grandma's for dinner, on my way home and BOOM. Followed by a boom every time the wheel turns. Where is it coming from? Why of course it has to be from one of the brakes that was just fixed. It was a loud boom and shook my whole car every time the boom would boom. So I got to drop it off right back at the mechanics. Luckily my grandma is letting me borrow her car so I was able to get home last night and now I can take my daughter to school today. The mechanic called a little bit ago and said it was ready. Wow though, I am still nervous as can be to drive it now!

I am getting a house-guest this weekend! Tomorrow afternoon this person is coming in and is staying until Tuesday morning. We have plans to go to the zoo (we've decided to go even if it is raining) and just be really really lazy and watch DVDs for most of the time. This person is also someone I met on this site. My fake little brother, Doug! (See my last blog.) Hopefully all goes well. Although, my step-grandfather thinks he is a scammer and Doug's grandmother thinks I'm just manipulating him for money and pity. Old people.

For those of you who do not know, Doug went to meet another tv.com member last summer. He met Hannah (ScoobySummers) and they had a blast. He flew there that time and this time he is planning on driving here. It's a 7 hour drive to please wish him safe traveling. He only has 4 hours total of highway driving in so far, so hopefully he will be alright. I know his mother is worried about him for the reason of the drive.

Doug wants a sugar glider. As soon as I turned on my webcam and showed him Tiggy for the first time he has wanted a sugar glider badly. His mother has agreed to let him get one. This weekend he gets to meet his first real sugar glider and from what he has told me, he is very excited. After interacting with her and seeing how demanding she really is, he will really be able to tell if they are the right pet for him.

I made Doug watch Farscape (one of my favorite shows). He fell in love with it but still has two episodes and the movie left to watch. We plan on finishing it out here. He has a little stuffed DRD named Blip he is bringing. I also have a little stuffed DRD but not named Blip. For fans of the show, you may get the name. It's name is 1816. I know Crichton's DRD buddy is 1812 but my favorite band, Rasputina, has a song called 1816, The Year Without a Summer and I figured 1816 and 1812 both being songs it would fit well.

Ok, this blog is too long already. Have a good rest of the week and weekend everyone!

Fake little brothers are AWESOME!

I have a fake little brother. He's not really my brother, but we are close and we consider each other as siblings. And let me just say, he is so so so awesome!!

For those of you who do not know, my awesome little brother is Doug, buffyTVSrox.

I got a package in the mail from him today. It contained two bags of some Flat Earth chips I want but they don't sell in my area and a box of my favorite kind of girl scout cookies, Samoas!

So yes, having a fake little brother is wonderful. Thank you Doug! This prevents me from making another blog about a certain article I found.

Say Happy Birthday!

Everyone say Happy Birthday to Courtney (my daughter)! She is 5 today.

She got a lot of presents and is eagerly awaiting the cake (I had to explain to her that she really must wait until after dinner).

Believe it or not, this kid requested stuffed cabbage rolls for her birthday. I told her I would make her anything she wanted and she said that it was her favorite.

There she is in between two pigs. She got a FurReal friend pig she wanted and the fat cat Darla was interested in everything going on.

She got a ton of Littlest Pet Shop stuff (she is obsessed with those things) and here is her playing with some of them.

So everyone leave a Happy Birthday message for her and I will read them to her! I have a feeling she will have a lot to say back too (I'll help write those out as well).

Flea killer also kills Spiders!

I know, what a reach! Fleas and spiders are both insects, so it would be fairly easy to see why it would kill both, right?

My cat must have gotten this memo and with his little (and boy do I mean little) brain, assumed just this.

Seems I went to a house with an animal who has fleas, and I found one on my cat, Darla (yes only one and I freak a bit). So I get top of the line flea shampoo and even the little dot. I bathe my three cats and plan to put the dot on them the next day.

Well, I wake up the next day, and there is a half-dead Spider on my floor. No, not your typical eight legged little friend, but my cat, Spider.

Turns out he is deathly allergic to the stuff (good thing I waited to put the dot on). He had a fever, he could barely breathe and he did not move for hours at a time. I was so upset. There was not even a warning that it was a possibility, but when I called, the lady basically said that it was a common thing for cats to drop dead from having a severe allergic reaction to the stuff!!!

So those of you with cats, be careful! I know I will never use any products like that ever in the future on any cat. It took some tuna water, a bath in baby shampoo and about four days for him to get all better.
