The fall season has begun. I've been looking forward to this for awhile. I always enjoy and hate the fall every year. Plenty of new shows to get involved in but plenty of disappointment when they are cancelled after 4 episodes. Every year I try not to get involved too much with new shows for the fear that they will get cancelled but I always get too attached and extremely disappointed.
The first new show of the fall started last night with FOX's K-Ville. I've been looking forward to this one for awhile. I like the idea of the show taking place in post-Katrian New Orleans and have always thought this show has a ton of potential. After viewing the pilot episode I still think it has plenty of potential; it just needs to start showing it better. The "plot twist" of last nights episode was pretty far-fetched and the writing was lacking at times. However, it still has a great general plot, a great lead actor in Anthony Anderson (a very underrated actor, just watch him on The Shield and tell me he doesnt have talent...you can't), a good supporting actor in Cole Hauser (hasn't shown a wide acting range, but I've always enjoyed his work as atleast being entertaining), and plenty of great scenery to teach people about New Orleans' condition. I really hope this show continues to get better with each episode and can hold onto its audience after pretty good ratings for the premiere. I'm not getting my hopes too high as this show is by no means guaranteed to last.
Prison Break started its third season last night. Yet again they pulled off a very exciting and entertaining season premiere. I'm glad to see Michael and the gang back in jail. The first season was superior to the second because it had the best main character: the prison. The gang being on the run was fun but it started to lose steam in the middle of the season and was saved by some pretty extraordinary episodes at the end of the season. I just hope that the plot ideas don't mimic what was done in season one. Considering the vast difference between Fox River and Sona, I don't see that being an issue. The inmates are much scarier in Sona and will provide plenty of tense moments. I'm also hoping that Mahone and Michael start to coexist soon. I've always liked Mahone's character as he is a supreme badass and played by the ultra-talented William Fichtner. Michael employing Mahone in his latest jail-break will be extremely fun to watch. I have a feeling I'm going to love this season.
Looking forward to the rest of my favorites coming back. Next week's Smallville premiere is going to be great.
