Demon's Souls
Arrived by parcel the other day. Very good, interesting and hard.
2009 - Gaming
I've been at different sites, but you can find out what I'm up to most easily by going to backloggery.com and looking up caduceus in the member profiles.
Disgaea 3
Been a while
Actually, I have been blogging on another site.
Since last posting, I have been through Assassin's Creed, Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction, Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
Just got GTA 4 2 days ago, so I have started playing that and it is fun so far.
LEGO Star Wars and Assassin's Creed
Well, I got LEGO Star Wars about 3 weeks ago. I am in Return of the Jedi (after beating all the other levels). I will be about 50% complete when I finish.
Good game, and I have gone back for several "True Jedi" things. Right now, I'm just waiting to be able to unlock Vader so I can go through the second trilogy for unlockables.
Assassin's Creed is good, my wife got me Gamefly for Christmas/Anniversary and am enjoying that. I have finished the first 2 kills and am headed to Jerusalem. I have 19/20 flags in the Assassin's city and need to prowl around for that pesky last one, but overall like it a great deal. Gameplay is repetitive, I suppose, archers on the towers are irritating, but I think it is a great start for a new IP.
Kind of Old School
Restarted Disciples 2 today. I am a mission or two in. It is hard not to micromanage and re-load after making a mistake.
I keep thinking about getting Bully, but then I see the Star Wars Lego Complete Saga coming out, not to mention Assassin's Creed.
What to do?
Thanks for my hat
Just got it handed to me in a Dominions 3 multi-player game. Oh well. Playing as Arcoesphale, Pangea and Ermor came from two different angles. I had a non-aggression pact with Abysia, but once my pretender was killed, it was pretty much over.
Still playing SP, and in another MP as R'lyeh, which isn't going so hot, once folks get in the water, I'll be done.
Looking forward to Hellgate: London.
Bought Warhawk, will try that sometime this week.
I'm still here.
Nothing exceedingly noteworthy in the last few months, so I haven't been posting.
I restarted FFXII after a month or more lull and am now back in the Giza Plains during the rainy season. I have several unfulfilled hunts to figure out. A dragon in the Westersand, a white mousse in the waterways under Rabanastre, a snake in the Caverns and now a turtle? in Giza Plains.
I can't
a) beat the dragon, after I find him, even with my (then 22nd now 23rd level) characters
b) get to the mousse because some of the waterways are flooded and some aren't and the monsters are too tough to get past
c) find the dang snake for the barman in the caverns, though I have searched 3 or 4 times
d) I need to set the rains off and get the monster to show up in Giza, though I did beat each of the five (?) large turtles in the "Tracks of the Monster" area after breaking off all the trees.
Guess I need to go to a cheat sheet. ![]()
Following the Wanderer
Picked up Diablo II's expansion pack late last week, as well as Dragon Quest VIII for the PS2.
Loaded up Diablo II and am enjoying the heck out of that. New weapons, new helmets and new classes. I no longer had my characters and started from scratch with a Druid, who has multiple pets. Fun!
Take that, Ares!
Well, finally beat GoW yesterday. It took me a while to get past the Kratos waves. Finally managed to chain-lightning them into sbmission. Just to note you don't have to get the archer on the floating rock. The final sword fight with Ares was a little frustrating due to his unblockable attacks and it seemed like it was more luck than anything else to get past him if he didn't chain those attacks together.
Overall a rewarding game. Tried "God" mode on the ship at the beginning of the game. I killed one of the entry-level grunts before I was overwhelmed. That took five minutes. Don't think I will play through it again
Running around
God of War is nearly complete, as I think I am almost done with Poseidon's challenge. I have been through several areas and can now swim underwater without breathing. That's pretty useful. I enjoyed "zipping" through the underwater deathtrap.
Ran Monday and yesterday (less than ten miles total, but not too bad) with an off day today due to meetings.
Pandora's Temple
I've made my way to the back of the Titan, and gotten my hands on Artemis' Blade.
I wonder how much more of the game there is?
Athens Night-Life
Enjoying God of War a bit, though I will get stuck, put it down for a while, then come back.
I'm not ready to give it a score yet, but I am enjoying it. Now Ares is stomping all over the city and I have fought through the first wave of the "under the concrete" demon folk. Now I can't get past those guys AND the chain-ball fellow at the same time...
Maybe tomorrow.
God of War
Well, I bought the first episode of God of War last night and played with a buddy (swapping the controller back and forth). We apparently sucked as it asked if it wanted us to switch to "easy" after falling to our deaths a few times, though the beer probably had something to do with that.
It seems to be pretty fun so far, and I made it to Athens before calling it a night.
Home?
I don't know if I believe "we've been developing this since the PS2", since they're rolling it out 6 months after the release of the PS3, but you know, whatever.
Henne Mines
No games this weekend.
Mod Nation
Good news at GDC?
Killzone 2?
Rumble feature?
Download AND play games at the same time?
Folds my socks?
Churning ground
I went into the jungle last night, triggering a cut scene, then into the jungle and triggered the cut scene with Fran, met the other members of her race, triggered a cut scene, found two Imperials left for dead, triggering a cut scene.
Now, I am headed to Henne (sp?) mines. Over the weekend, I did go back and tried to get a couple more marks, but couldn't find them easily, so I have dropped them for now and am continuing on the main story path.
All of my characters are now level 26. I did go into the Westersand dungeon/tunnels and ran into an Esper, or perhaps a mark that was a goat-like headed creature that proceeded to stomp us into the ground.
