Judgement day has arrived!

Yesterday was an important day for me, it was the day I went to see Eric Clapton in concert. For those of you that even just have a quick look at my blog it is very easy to see that I mentioned it before. I was expecting it to be a sunny day since it was going to be out doors but since it is Ireland rain was expected all day long. My brother, my dad and I were all going, so we firstly had to get a bus to Dublin which lasted about 2 hours or maybe 2 and a 1/2. Once we had reached Dublin at about 4, I found that 2 of my cousins who drove from Dundalk have already got to the concert and where at the very front (I was jealous). After a bite to eat we took the train to Malahide where the concert was taking place, at this point we could see rain clouds but that didn't stop me at all. So when we finally reached the area in which the concert was taking place we were glad to see that there was only a few hundred people there, 300 hundred at the most unfortunately we couldn't reach the front where my cousins were but we managed to get about 10 rows back which gave us an amazing view none the less. We began waiting from 5.00 until 6.30 when the supporting band came on, they were good they played Voodoo Child but they only stayed on for 1/2 an hour and at this point it had begun to rain and I mean it rained. It was by far the wettest day and coldest day of the year and the fact that it is in the Summer. But it kept raining until Eric and his band came on at 8.15 and the first thing he said was "You have my complete and total respect for staying here", he began by playing a few popular but not too well known songs like Running On Faith and Before You Accuse Me. Later something scarey happened just while it was about half way through and everyone was really getting into it, here is a video as it is the best way to describe it - Click Here. He still continued to play Layla dispite the whole crowd, about 40,000 people starting to complain but later near the end of the song the power came back on and all was well. He played many known songs like Layla, Wonderful Tonight and Cocaine which really got the crowd going especailly with Cocaine. The only did one encore which was still good but then trying to get home, we had to walk about 600 yards to the train station which wouldn't have been so bad but about 40,000 people trying to get out at once didn't help and it was made even worse that about 1/4 of them for going on the same train as us. But when we finally got in the train and arrived back in Dublin center at about 11.30 which wouldn't have been so bad but I had been up to 3.00 am the previous night and when the bus finally arrived at 12.00 it was about 2 and a half hours before we got home because it had to stop at the airport which didn't help. But on and all it was a brilliant day, not just my first Eric Clapton concert but my first concert, I had previously went to the Blues Festival in a nearby town 2 years in a row but that was it.

Here is an image of the ticket.

Here is an image of the wrist band we were given at the entrance.

Could someone tell me how to get that wrist band, I don't want to rip it but as far as I can see there is no way to take it off, sorry if you have no idea because off how the image is.

New bands/artists

I was thinking that after talking to a few friends that they had mentioned a couple of bands that I hadn't heard of before, but afterwards I then got round to listening to those bands they had suggested and found that they were quite good. I was wondering if anyone could suggest some bands/artists they like, and I am completely open to any music, well most music.

Some examples of bands/artists I like are - Metallica, Eric Clapton, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Trivium, Thin Lizzy, The Verve, The Cult, Blink 182, Green Day, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Korn, Nirvana, Oasis, Johnny Cash, Artic Monkeys, System of a Down, Slayer, Slipknot, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pantera, Queens of The Stone Age, Megadeth, Machine Head, Lenny Kravitz, Jose Feliciano, Bon Jovi, Eagles, Fratellis, Kasabian, Kooks, Killers, Moterhead, Muse.

These are just a few off the top of my head, I want to expand my musical interests and hope to do so with your help.
