I'm Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you are all having a great day with your family and enjoying all the delicious food.

Today is a wonderful time to sit back and take just a few moments to say thank you for all the good things that have happened in the past year. To say it is hard to say thank you during any other day might not be true...but it is something that happens. We forget, and we move forwards without looking at the matter again. Great things come our way and yet, not all of us say thank you. Let us all take just a short moment to think about something great that has happened this year and let us give thanks for that.

This past year I have suffered heartbreak due to the passing of my father. But in his passing I have gained more than one might imagine. More strength mentally, a better grasp on my life, more love than thought possible for the remaining members of my family, and a better knowing of my father. Such a horrible thing has brought so much good to me. Even though I know my dad is not on this earth anymore, I still find him helping me each day that passes. For this, I am thankful. I'm grateful that as time goes on all of the lessons he taught me are still in my head and are helping me on a daily basis. Up until the cancer consumed his body and mind he was trying to teach me. He did so in such a way because he knew he didn't have long. I love him for that and I will take his lessons on with me in my life knowing that he shall always be there for me. Thank you, dad.

Before I end I would also like to give thanks to the Gamespot staff. Those of you that are on the scene and especially those of you behind the scene, thank you for providing a great website to come back to after all of these years. I look forward to what the future holds. So to you all working hard for us at Gamespot, thank you.

I hope you all have a wonderful time with your family this Thanksgiving. Thank you for reading.

Updated Game List

I updated my collected game list with games that I actually own. A lot of the ones I had on there before I did own, but some were there just for a specific emblem.

I decided to start fresh with just my Xbox 360 games. Later I will add my DS and PSP games. I don't really want to venture into the last generation of platforms because the list will look like it did before. I'd rather have a nice and clean looking list of games rather than a cluster of games that takes forever to search through and 3/4 of them are horrible. In my mind, the change was needed.

I will also be updating my ratings list soon as well. I gave nearly every game I wanted a 1.0 just for the Way Harsh emblem. It looked pretty. I had to have it. Now though, I really don't mind. So with some time I will begin to take those away and start fresh with what I really think about games. Most of those I reviewed deserve much better. Don't ask me how Lost Odysssey got there with a 9.5. Mind you, it will be edited and taken down a few notches.

Thank you for reading and I hope to see you all on the boards.

The Midnight Release

Last week around this time I was going crazy becuase I knew that Modern Warfare 2 was only hours away. Today, just a week later, I'm going crazy because Left 4 Dead 2 and Assassins Creed 2 are also just hours away. I'll be heading to the midnight release tonight around 10:30 to wait in line.

Now I am unsure if you all know or not but Assassins Creed (despite reviews) has been my favorite game on the Xbox 360. That alone should explain how excited I am for Assassins Creed 2. I'm very anxious to pick up the story with Ezio and embark on my assassination journey.

Left 4 Dead 2 has got me almost equally excited due to the magnificent multiplayer. I look forward to playing with my friends online dodging jockeys, avoiding acid from the spitters, and blasting down chargers. Feel free to join me if you are picking up the game tonight as well.

That is all for now, have fun tonight if you are also picking up these two great games. Be safe, have fun, and kick some decaying zombie ass!

I can has Warfare?

After spending a few days with it, the first two sleepless, I can officially say that I love the game. A lot. One might ask, is Modern Warfare 2 better than the first? To put it simply, Yes. I do find myself getting more attracted to this game more so than I did the first one.

Sadly, the story seems to be only a little bit longer than the first. However, with all of the first person shooters that I play (you too Gamespot with your crappy 9.0) it is almost expected. The story is great and has a few moments when you just want to question whether or not you should have done that or not. No spoilers though. It should be experienced first hand.

Multiplayer is obviously some of the best out there. I have a lot of fun with the online. They took the first games multiplayer and amped it up. New killstreaks, new customization options...new everything. All the challenges have been modified from the first game and honestly, it is for the better. A lot more work goes into it and I can't be more happy. Gives me something extra to do without fear of running out of tasks.

All in all this game could possibly be best game of the year. I'll tell you whether it is or not come next Friday once I've had my chance to play Left 4 Dead 2 and Assassins Creed 2.

Thank you Infinity Ward for the great game, and thank you all for reading.

Woe is me...

I don't know if you know this or not...but there are a lot of games coming out in these next few months. Enough to make my head explode, in fact. I have Gamefly, and I choose to get games that way mostly, but in rare cases, I'll buy a game. It usually has to kick some serious ass for me to buy it though.

Games coming out in the next few days, weeks, or months I will buy:

Modern Warefare 2 (Already pre-ordered and will be getting the NV goggles.)

Assassins Creed 2

Halo 3: ODST (Few more days!)

Guitar Hero: Van Halen (Most likely getting it for free)

Left 4 Dead 2

Wet (actually on my gamefly, purchase is most likely going to happen)

Forza Motorsport 3

Army of Two: 40th Day

Splinter Cell: Conviction

Battlefield Bad Company 2 (pretty far away, but still...it will sneak up on us)

Dj Hero ( ready to hit up some DJAM tunes. R.I.P. )

Band Hero

Final Fantasy XIII ( once again, far away, but still pretty close )

Saw (in the battle of being ordered from Gamefly or actually purchasing)

And that's pretty much it for now...I'm sure I left something out, but I can't even try to think about it right now. It's too late, and I just felt like informing you guys on what I'll most likely be picking up soon. Not only are these games getting purchased, I also have a ton of games coming to me that are already on Gamefly. So...I'm pretty much booked. Me and my achievement whore buddies will be playing some...stranger games in the coming weeks. Be following my Gamertag to see what we pop in. Disney week is coming up (just something going around on my friends list) and don't be surprised if you see me playing Hannah Montana. Not joking, but I wish I was. I made a promise I'm going to play it and by god I will, lol. My sanity will most likely slip away afterwards though...what little I have left.

One more quick note, I hope to have a web show up on Justin TV in about a month. However, I need someone that knows how to get something like that set up to help me. The price isn't too much of a problem, I just need some pretty good quality. So any help with something like this is greatly appreciated.

Join me! 9-7-09

Hello everyone, it has been quite some time, no? Yes yes...I suppose I should explain why I've returned first. There isn't really a better way to put it aside from...I missed the hell out of blogging and talking with the people here. That about sums it up! I hope to continue to blog and perhaps post in the forums when I'm not busy elsewhere.

I've actually been quite tempted to come back before now but I just find it extremely hard to do so now. Since my last blog two months ago, not that much has changed. I'm still planning to enter the Major League Gaming world sometime soon, though we're two people down now due to team changes I decided to make. It's just Phobia (Brawl55 here on Gamespot), and myself now. Perhaps I can soon find some people that share our same desire to join us.

On the terms of Halo 3, I'd also like to throw this idea out there. I've been wanting to host a day to play with friends near and far for a solid day, without stopping, (bathroom breaks, food breaks, and any other beverage breaks are permitted.), in Matchmaking, or Custom Games. Phobia and myself would be happy to take some of you on 2 v 2 at any given point during this time. Hell, if you beat us then we could learn a lot from our losses. But point being, I'd just like to invite all my Gamespot friends to come and play with us on Labor Day. September 7th for those of you that forgot too. It would be nice to get together with some of you and test our skills and even combine them in some matchmaking. So, if you're interested then just send me a friend request on the 7th of the coming month and I'll be happy to play with you. I hope a lot of you will join us, and I hope those of you that do join bring your A-game!

This is where I leave you. Comment me if you think you'll join in on my Halo Day, and I hope to hear from a lot of you soon!

The Time Has Come-Goodbye Gamespot

What what? Leaving on the start of E3!? No emblem!? Yes, I have been planning this for some time now and I shall finally take my leave from this place. I'm making it short because I don't feel like saying my goodbyes, I'm not good at it. So instead of losing me here, you're gaining me elsewhere.

You can now find me on Blogspot. Where I just began my new account and blogging life. I hope you will all save my page so you can see my gaming update blogs. I hope to see you all commenting there so I don't have to miss you here.

Quick blog, quick leave....

Lookout 2010

One might ask, why in the world I'm already talking about 2010, when we're not even half-way finished with 2009. My response would be: Practice, strategy, and bonding. The three things a good team needs if said team is to compete in the MLG tournaments.

Surprised? Well let me explain. Recently, a friend and I, along with Gamespot member, Brawl55, have decided to form a team. A team for the 2010 MLG Circuit. We're still looking for the fourth person, but we have ideas about that person already. Now, the point of this blog is to tell of our journey through this next year and what we'll have to go through.

First off being, practice. Countless hours per day, every day. We'll practice with each other and we'll practice by ourselves sometimes. This will happen for about a year until we head off to Meadowlands. Our first MLG tournament. We'll see how we stand there, and commence to find out what we need to improve on, or find out if we are strong enough to proceed to the next tournament, which in this years case, is in Columbus. It's something that will take so much of our time that it's almost scary how much we'll be together and talking.

Second thing we need to work on is our strategy. This pretty much falls under the category of practice, but when we get our fourth person, the true work will begin. Plotting what we'll do for each map, how to control each area, what weapons to grab, who has a stronger point with a certain power weapon, who can juggle flags fastest (probably me), and a variety of other things that will be quite stressful, but in the long run...will make us a team that will be hard to compete with hopefully. Perhaps it will be enough to put us in the 8th Round Winners bracket with Str8 Rippin or Triggers Down? We'll see.

The last aspect, and perhaps the most important...is bonding. Something every team needs to focus on. Bonding with every member of the team and learning to have fun, as well as working hard is a key aspect of something of this nature. It could make the key difference in our gameplay. It's hard to make a physical connection with my team due to both of the current team mates being in Florida, but it will be done. Costello2, who lives in Jacksonville, and CJC614 (Brawl55), who lives in Miami are two great people, and I hope we can meet face to face so we are just that much closer. I plan on seeing Costello2 soon, as for CJ though, well...that will be one long drive for this Northern Georgia dweller. But it will need to be done. This could help our overall communication and trust for one another.

So that's about it. My first blog in over a month, and of course it's a long one. It's just not right to be short from me anymore. I hope you all have a slight insight as to what I, as well as three others will be doing over the next year and I hope we'll have your best wishes going in to the season.

Have a good day everyone.

--Chaos

P.S.- Be looking for the team Livewire in the coming year for 2010.

You Video Editors Out There

It's been a while since I've posted a blog and I assure you there will be a well thought out one some time soon. However, this blog is for the video editors out there. I have a question for you all.

What is a software I can use to record and edit my videos for free? Also, how can I get footage, from Halo 3, to my computer without having to use a cap. card?

Quick blog, but I'm on a mission Inform me if you can.

Finished the Fight...uh...Modern style.

So after...oh...I don't know a year or so, I finally finished Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare. Probably my favorite FPS right now. What what? Even better than Halo 3!? Yes. Halo 3 has been put on hiatus because of this game. The story has been finished and the multiplayer is now taking my time. Level 37 L. Colenol just for your information. That's for later though, back to the story. The ending over all shocked me. Not so much in the fact of who died, but how it happened. That was the greatest part. If you've finished the game then I'd like to know your opinion on this question: Did it or did it not feel like ultimate power had been given to you once you made that shot? It was amazing to me. Making two shots with my pistol into his head felt like the ultimate gift had been given to me.

Now the multiplayer. As I said it is in fact taking my time now instead of Halo 3. I believe it is honestly better and more tactical than Halo will ever be. Can't say much for ODST right now but at the moment CoD4 is for sure the better of the two. Make the jump now if you haven't done so already. I'm not saying that I hate Halo 3, just that I have found an even better multiplayer experience. The maps are great, the ranking system is terrific, and the overall enjoyment exceeds that of Halo. No lag, no t-baggers, and no 11 year old calling me a naughty word that begins with a B, and a few more after that starting with C, MF, and D. So much better

Overall, and this is hard for me to believe, CoD4 would be the first game that I'd have to give a perfect 10 to. Even though the story was short and there is no co-op, it is all made up for in the end.

-Chaos

Oh, by the way. Be looking for Modern Warfare 2 sometime this year.

What...is...their...problem?

So...I believe EA is on some kind of stupidity increasing drug. Releasing yet another Need for Speed so soon after Undercover got blown to pieces by critics. Do they not learn their lesson? Apparently not. Need for Speed: Shift, and Need for Speed: Nitro. Now, Need for Speed: Nitro will only be for the Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS. Maybe they can work with it...but I seriously doubt it. The fact that they're even coming out with a game so soon stuns me. I mean, Undercover was released in November. Now three months later, surprise! They are releasing new crap. Can't they see that releasing games back to back is not smart? If the Tony Hawk series can learn their lesson, don't you think a very nice (used to be) team of Racing designers can learn their lesson too? The TH series took a year off and they have announced a new game coming soon that has already got fans pumped because they took the time and changed things up from what they're used to doing. Learn from this EA. We would rather wait two years and have a good game, than wait maybe six months for a new one that disgraces the franchise even more. Also...there is rumors of EA producing a NFS game...that is a MMO. I don't have anything to say on that aside from it's a rumor and hopefully...it's not true.

In other news, I've been gaming a lot online with some people from Gamespot. Brawl55 being the most played with. I'm just glad he can put up with my friends...and my stupidity We've only played Halo 3, but that's been plenty. He's a good player and is working to get better. Kudos to him Phantom4567 has also been in and out of parties with us. Again I say, thank you for putting up with our stupidity Two great players and people to hang around with. It's been fun and hopefully will continue to be fun

What what? A blog?

So it's been a while since I've posted a blog...for me anyway. I was just stopping by to explain to the people I was posting with, just why I stopped and to inform everyone else when I'll be stopping by from now on as well as some gaming news.

First off, the people I was posting with just a week ago should know that, like before, my life has become hectic. It's hard enough for me to do my daily activities and also come here. I lurk, but that's about it. I'm sorry to you all for not being able to post at this time. Hopefully within a few weeks to a month I can be back on schedule. Some personal things have come up as well as a job so this is taking my time away.

Now to the others. If you read that last paragraph then you know I have a job now and it might be tough for me to come on here everyday to post a blog, or read your own. However, I will try my best to drop a few comments off on some of the blogs I visit frequently. Most of you know where to find me if you actually need something important. Don't hesitate to send me a message.

And finally, the grand poo-bah of the blog...I don't think I spelt poo-bah right...anyway. The gaming news has arrived. As of six hours ago me and my family came into owning this small white thing that has been selling a lot of it's self lately...oh what's the word...bacon? turkey? bowling ball? Ah, I remember...the Wii! Yes indeed, I finally have my hands on a Wii and so far I'm not too upset with it. Controls are nice, the two games I have played are decent. Wii Sports of course being one and Wii Play being the other. I believe Wii Play is more for the new people to the system to help them get the feel for the Wii...but none the less, it's still pretty fun. I can't wait to purchase some games of my own for the Wii. Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Pokemon Battle Revolution, and many of the VC games. Super Mario being one of them.

Coming to a close, everyone should now understand my position on blogging and posting. I love to do both...but life gets in the way now and then I suppose. Have a good weekend and be safe.

-Chaos

P.S. Be looking for a blog coming in the near future telling some of my...favorites in games. Not just the Xbox 360, but stretching all through out the gaming world.

Merry/Happy-Christmas/Hanukkah

It's that grand time of year when you wake up every morning, have a small shot of egg nog, walk the dog, and come in and sit by the fire. You mom baking fresh cookies for santa and your little brother making snow angels outside in the cold, but exciting snow. Father is out back chopping wood for the warm glowing fire...No? It's not like that for you? Me either.

Instead we're all in a rush to purchase our gifts and have everything ready by the time the big day comes, or in the case of Hanukkah, all of the days. I'm finally finished with all my crap...I mean fun and meaningful shopping. Hopefully all of you are as well. Let's spend these last few days playing our soon to be forgot about games due to all the Christmas/Hanukkah goodies...like I did last night when I finally reached over 10k Gamerpoints

I'm very anxious for Christmas to come around. I hope to get a few games. Prince of Persia, Fallout 3, Left 4 Dead, Patapon, etc. The list goes on...and on and on. I'm curious as to what all of you are hoping to find under the tree this year. Share your wish list with me if you don't mind

I hope all of you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah. Spend some time with your families and friends sipping some egg nog...the good kind of egg nog. Probably the only way you could handle sitting with family and friends...

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah from ChaosRyder665!

Radiant Garden

No, this blog is not going to be my blog saying that I've finally lost it and decided to be a gardener for the rest of my life...nor will you ever get one of those Hopefully

This blog is actually about my return to unions, and the title is in fact the name of my recently created union Well, mine and Phantom4567's recently created union I should say. I'm proud to say that my dear friend is standing beside me as Co-leader in our new Kingdom Hearts union! Now does this seem familiar? It probably does...with all my other unions I've created and lost track of. However, this one is different. I'll only be in this union and no others. I want to focus all of my time on it and it's community.

I know there are many Kindom Hearts unions out there, but I hope, as does Phantom to make this a great experience for everyone. Even though we have some tough competition perhaps we can sail to the top eventually. I'd like to affiliate with the other KH unions one day in hopes of making a huge KH community...but that's another time.

Right now in the current time, I just ask that anyone interested at least give it a look and hopefully you will join if you get the urge.

I thank you all for reading, and I hope to see you there!

My Nomination For GOTY

The year is ending and we've certainly had many good games, and most of them could be put up for GOTY. Where do I start? Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Metal Gear Solid 4, Fable 2, Fallout 3, Grand Theft Auto 4, Gears of War 2, Little Big Planet, Left 4 Dead, Prince of Persia, Resistance 2...yeah there are quite a lot of choices.

With all of those, how is it we can choose just one? Well...easy. What game shocked us all with the first 10 in a very, very long while? What game brought us a loveable protagonist that we've never met before? What game has a great story that has many emotional twists and turns? What game lets you have countless hours of multiplayer fun? What game has won me over for game of the year?

Grand Theft Auto 4. I've fallen in love with this game, and with Niko. The best game in the whole series, and for sure one of my most favorite games of all time. When this game came out, I could have cared less. It took a lot of time for me to consider getting it, but when I did, I was connected emotionally and mentally to the game. I was amazed with Niko and his wonderful charisma. He made the game truely remarkable and every minute of the game worth while. The missions, the story characters, the city layout...every drop of the game impressed me and most likely will for years to come.

Grand Theft Auto 4 is my nomination for Game of the Year, and my favorite game of all time.

Better late than never

Black Friday has come...and sadly it has gone. I love Black Friday because of all the good sales I find in stores. Gamestop was my favorite. I walked into the store knowing about the sale on 2 used games for 1 free used game. I took advantage of this. I wound up purchasing six new games for the Xbox 360 and I've liked them all...some more than others. Below are the ones I bought with a summary of what I think of them.

Forza Motorsport 2- This is a great game in my opinion. I was very happy to finally be playing this, and all my months of waiting and anticipation did not let me down. I love the car detail and the upgrade options. Makes me think of the good ol' Gran Turismo days. Not the crappy 4th or 5th (prolouge) ones, but the first three. The tracks are nice and have a good feel to them. I'm currently a level 14 driver and I'm ranking my way up everyday.

Marvel Ultimate Allicance- This game was in the same package as Forza, so a great deal for two good games. Marvel has made me happy as well. I like the teamwork feature in it and it makes the boss battles a little more easy. Mind you the fights are still a challenge, but the team feature helps as well. I like the story so far too. Dr.Doom being the mastermind behind everything is neat. I like Dr.Doom and having him as the big bad boy in the game makes me happy to know I'm probably going to have a tough fight in the end. My Current team is the following: Deadpool, Captain America, Ice Man, and Iron Man.

Dark Sector- A decent game so far. I've been pleased with most of the things I've seen in it. The start of the game being in black and white was something I wasn't expecting, but did enjoy. I've only made it through the first two missions, and I plan on completing more soon. I gotta say...I love that Glaive.

Bioshock- You know...I don't care for this game that much. I was really hoping to get it and love it like everyone else has...but I just feel a bit empty when I play it. Hopefully it's just because I'm in the start of the game and I've not made it very far. All I know is that it needs to get better if it wants a good score from me.

Madden NFL 08- What!? Chaos likes Football!? No way! Yes I do. Madden 08 is as fun as a Football game can possibly get too. I've had the unfourtunate pleasure of playing some really bad football games in my past but this one makes up for them all. I'm quite happy with the graphics (could be better) and the gameplay is just fine too. I'm anxious to play Madden 09.

NCAA Football 08- What!? Chaos likes College Football!? No way! Yes I do. I like college football just as much as I do Madden. However, the game is not as pretty as Madden is. I've noticed some laggy moments in the game and the graphics aren't as good. That can be made up for though by having the Georgia Bulldogs and some fun gameplay in the game.

All in all I made some good purchases...with the exception of Bioshock. I'll get around to playing it again, but for right now it's on my, Pssh List.

Thanks for reading!

NXE Opinions

The update has arrived and everyone that is anyone has downloaded it! And my thoughts on it are...Meh. I suppose it's alright but I'm not "super suprised and excited", like I was told I was going to be. The only feature I've messed around with a lot is, of course, the avatars. I suppose the feature is pretty neat. It doesn't take away from the gamer pictures or gamerscores so I'm fine with it. If nothing else, it makes me wonder what will happen next with them. Perhaps some more games where we can walk around and communicate with other friends.

A feature that I was really hyped up for was the one to watch movies with friends...emphasis on was. I get the update started up and a friend and I are getting ready to watch a huge marathon of, That 70's Show, only to find that we can't do anything of the sort! I thought we would be able to put in movies we owned and watch them with a friend? Apparently not. I hope Microsoft inculdes this feature in the next update or me being pissed would be an understatement.

I thought I'd throw in my Avatar, as well as a few more peoples avatars just for fun. Prepare yourself

Hintaki (you knew it was coming )

And that's it. Let the comments begin! Seriously...leave a comment You know you want to. It's just a click away. Do it and there will be cake at the end. You can even keep your trusty companion cube. Your almost there. The cake awaits! Just a few more seconds!

The cake is a lie. Your companion cube will soon perish.

Purchase + Opinion of Purchase=Blog

This past Friday I had the chance to purchase Fable 2. Once I did, and got home with it, I couldn't put it down. I had a blast playing it the first three nights and it wasn't untill Sunday when I took a break did I realize how much there is to do in the game. I spent three days on it and I hardly cracked into the story. I was just running around doing jobs and finding a spouse to get the achievement. The game is looking to be very promising and I can't wait to find out more about the events that have already taken place. Oh, and about the spouse thing. I found one, got married, and now I'm a parent...sorry none of you were invited to the wedding or baby shower

Other than that I've been playing Halo 3, making a few maps with a very good friend of mine and having some matches in Team Snipers and Social Slayer. Every day that I play I get more and more anxious for the Mythic Maps to come out. They sound very interesting and I can't wait to play on them. Having skulls on the maps is quite interesting and it will be yet another fun task my friend and I can have fun with. The new achievements sound kind of easy but hopefully they will provide a bit of entertainment. There seems to be no really hard achievements except the one involving the Perfection. For those of you that play, you'll know what I'm talking about.

My next game probably won't come until Christmas. Even then I don't know what it will be. Perhaps...hmmm...Prince of Persia? Maybe even Fallout 3, or Dead Space. There are a lot of titles that I'm interested in. Over a thousand dollars worth. Wish me luck.

Thanks for reading

New Xbox 360 Update Coming

With the new update being only a week away, I can't help but be a little anxious. I don't exactly know what to expect from it. Don't get me wrong, I like our current one but this new one looks quite interesting and has a lot of great features.

The feature I'm most excited about is the feature to watch movies with friends. Usually I just go into a private chat while watching a movie while a friend watches another movie. Now with the update we will be able to watch the same one at the same time.

Avatars however, are making me nervous. Now with Microsoft introducing this feature to try to compete with the Mii's, I can't help but fear that they are going to over do it and put too much into the Avatars taking away from other features. We'll see though.

There are a ton of new features coming out and yet, I'm not so sure they're going to be great. We will see in less than a weeks time. I am curious as to how you all feel. What are your thoughts?
