I remember playing silent hill 1 many years ago, my palms sweaty upon the sleak grey mass that was the PS1 dual shock controller. The taunting noises as you crept around hall ways, a weapon in hand, swinging or shooting madly at anything that moved to prevent it from getting any closer. You felt as if maybe the creatures could kill your character, but maybe you too... I loved that game, I still play it on stormy nights when I feel that my computer time is about wasted... but just recently I picked up Silent HIll 2... I've rented it before, but I hardly remembered any of it. I've played and beaten Silent Hill 3, the sequel more or less to one, and found myself enthrawled in that as well.. But now there's two... and I suppose I'd have to rate 2 as perhaps the scariest... 1 and 3 were great, and had better story lines, but they lacked some of the more, "creepy" enemies... For those of us who have been playing the series, I refer to the Pyramid Heads, the freakishly odd enemies that can't be killed, and always appear from the shadows. You don't encounter these much, normally in cut scenes, but when you do, it's run like f***ing hell, and hold your breath. The game itself is at times... confusing, and I've always liked how silent Hill loves to confuse me and some how make sense at the end... It's not as much a killer as it is a puzzle game, but hell, if you can get through it with out any difficulty then my hat's off to you. All in all, if your a little tired of the blandness of Resident Evil, and you want to scare yourself, or perhaps a girl friend... Kill the lights, grab something to eat, and give one of the silent Hill titles a whirl, I promise, it'll be worth it...


And A hint to all those fighting the pyramid heads as a boss... use that Great Knife to your advantage!!!!!! That's if you were smart enough to find it... Just back into a corner and swing like mad... You'll do fine
