My thoughts about the 3 press conferences

Microsoft: Well, I found Microsoft Press Conference to be not as bad as many think. Perhaps they didnīt show much about the consoleīs future, but I think it wasnīt really that necessary. At this point, Microsoft only has to focus on bringing some more good software to the 360 and thatīs what they did, even the Xbox Live Arcade stuff was decent(tough, I still wonder what happened to Fatal Fury 2 Special Edition). I was a little disappointed about what they showed about Halo 3, it wasnīt bad but I was hoping to see more about the gameplay itself.

Nintendo: I found this to be the worst of the 3 for me. Even when they showed good stuff like Mario Kart for Wii and the release date for Super Smash Bros Brawl, I still think they didnīt focus on the hardcore gamer. I was about to explode when they came out with their "weīremaking more non-gamers to the play videogames and be part of the this culture" speech for the 20ths time. About the new hardware they showed, tough the Zapper looks great, the wheeler and the wii balance board(for Wii Fit) didnīt make it for me. I was hoping to see more support for the online service(more games, an improvement in the service) or at least a new installment of Nintendo that really wanted me to play that title on the wii hardware.

Sony: I think this year, Sony along Microsoft did a great job. Tough they showed a new PSP version, it lacks of a internal HD or the use of Flash memory and another/better analog stick will make me not to think of buying a PSP anytime soon. Same for the PS3, even with the $100 price drop, I still donīt think Iīm gonna pay 500$ for a console. In the other hand I was happy to see good stuff coming for the PS3 such as the new installment of Ratchet and Clank, more about Heavenly Swords, Killzone 2(which really looks amazing) and of course... Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots!!!! (That Raiden vs Vamp [I guess?] fight was awesome)
