Please welcome contestant #10!

The Cyberdemon

From the Tower of Babel (yes, that's where this freak originated), lurking and waiting for the next soldier brave enough to tackle him down, it's...the Cyberdemon! This monstrosity is a combination of cybernetics and demon flesh.

Cyberdemon 2

Just like the Cyborg Commando, there is virtually no story to this guy-but hey, there was NEVER a story for Doom. It was all about the action, although there is a tidbit (although it may be non-canonical) that explains the background of this monstrosity.

In Wolfenstein RPG, this monster was implied to be the Harbinger of Doom. Summoned by the German Army at Castle Wolfenstein as a part of their twisted experiments to use necromancy as a weapon, the Allied Spy William "B.J." Blazkowicz defeats the beast with the Spear of Destiny and ends up destroying his left arm and right leg. And if you look at the picture, you'll notice the respective destroyed parts are replaced with cybernetic components.

It is because of this that many fans have implied that Blazkowicz is Doomguy's ancestor. It's not really surprising, as both are war heroes yet their contributions are forgotten.

What makes this guy so awesome? It's the raw power he packs-both in defence and offense. He is the strongest enemy you'll ever face in the Doom series-his rocket launcher is capable of dishing thousands of hit points worth of damage, more than any soldier can handle. Not only that, but he packs a whopping 4000 HP! Ask any Doom veteran their first experience at meeting the Cyberdemon, and you'll get a funny yet serious response. No kidding.

Even with the BFG9000, he takes around 4-5 shots to kill. But of course, that weapon is so rare; you should consider yourself lucky if you can even see it more than 10 times. So your next best option is the rocket launcher-but then, it takes 40 rockets to down the Cyberdemon. Good luck achieving that!

Finally, the Cyberdemon has NO weaknesses! Really, the only thing you can do is shoot it until it dies. There are no weak points for you to target. Just blast him until he dies...or he kills you.

This guy is rare-appearing in only a few select levels of Doom and Doom II, you would consider yourself lucky if you even run into this guy more than 4 times in the whole game. But...if you play The Plutonia Experiment (one of the sequels to Doom II) and manage to find the ultra-secret level, you'll get to face 15 of these...yes, 15 Cyberdemons in one level-even on the lowest skill level. GOOD LUCK.

Strengths: One of the best bosses ever (In my opinion), absolutely deadly, matchless

Weaknesses: Non-playable, rare (unless you play the unofficial expansions of Doom)

And so, the next award goes to the fearsome crusader of Hell. Please take it, and don't kill the audience while you're at it!

And now, the ultimate worst character ever.

And now...prepare for the ultimate epic fail character ever.

Rolling in from Non-Existent Ville, Tingle is the next fail. If you've played a Legend of Zelda game that involves this clown, you'd know why...

This guy is perhaps one of the most useless (not to mention extremely creepy) characters ever in the franchise. Look at that outfit-it makes Wario man's look godly! But enough of that. This guy makes you pay thousands of rupees just to decipher maps in Wind Waker-perhaps one of the well known tasks in the game in terms of a pain in the ass. Yes, a clown like him can decipher ancient maps....when he draws them with a FREAKING CRAYON!

Strengths: Find one and I'll eat my own hat.

Weaknesses: Anything negative you can think of.

Well, that was painfully short, but I made my point. I'm sure 5 million Legend of Zelda fans would agree with me on this point.

Hey! Listen!

HEY! LISTEN! HEY HEY HEY HEY LISTEN!!!

Which Zelda veteran wouldn't fear THIS!? If you don't know who this is, then you go to jail bad boy! Hah. Kidding.

I'm sure you know that's the one and only Navi. The biggest, dumbest, most annoying fairy assistant/sidekick/advisor/whatever!

Unlike some other fairies, she plays no vital role in the story. While Tatl and Tael are related to the Skull Kid with Majora's Mask and Ciela is one of three sacred spirits and has the ability to control time, Navi has NOTHING. Virtually nothing.

Except for helping you lock on (which I'm sure Link can do by himself...) there's no point. Her hints are more useless than a dull butterknife. And if you ignore her, she'll keep saying HEY over and over again.

Remember the part where she mentions nothing will stop her from helping you to destroy Ganondorf? She...well...does nothing instead! So obvious! She plays no role either in the story, except for the introduction. After that she's more forgotten than an old cake in a dump.

Strengths: Say one, and Ganondorf will make you DIE.

Weaknesses: All of them.

I am definitely sure 95% of Ocarina of Time players will agree with me here, except for a certain someone...

Although Navi is a terrible character, there's one particular individual that's even more hated...stay tuned for the next WORST CHARACTER EVER!

Please welcome the next worst character!

And now, yet another fail. Please give your big warm boos to Waluigi!

This guy literally serves no purpose in the Mario games-not in the story, game play, nothing. He's more of a cheap, last minute add-on to the spinoff series of Mario games (such as Mario Kart and Party) and since he never appears in the actual games themselves, there is virtually no real purpose for him to exist in the first place.

He's also annoying. Who wouldn't hate that idiotic laugh!?

Strengths: Being annoying.

Weaknesses: All of them.

This was short, but I made my point!

And now, please sound your trumpets for the next worst character ever!

Coming up next, we have perhaps what is the most useless unit ever in the universe of C&C-the Technician.

Appearing only in the older C&C games (Tiberian Dawn and Red Alert) this guy is only available to the commander whenever a structure is sold or destroyed-and oh ho, getting a minigunner (basic rifleman dude) from the structure is perhaps the better alternative.

Armed with a handgun that takes like 30 shots to kill even a basic infantry unit, this beloved useless unit has gained fame-for being absolutely useless. 2 shots from any weapon (yes, even a regular rifleman can send him to an early grave without taking anything more than a scratch) and he is dead. Of course, here's a video demonstrating how useless they are-even in an army.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_TdZMX_mzI

Strengths: Great cannon fodder, free of charge.

Weaknesses: Everything else.

I don't even know why the programmers placed this guy in the game...eh...moving on.

And now, HERE IT IS! The anticipated 4th year anniversary special!

WORST CHARACTERS EVER

Broadcasting live from the United Aerospace Armed Federation, it's the worst characters ever list! Before we start the show about virtual failures, we have a word from our sponsor. Desulated, if you would?

Hello friends! Before we start, I hope you will enjoy our upcoming 10 best video game characters ever special. R&D has placed a lot of work in that special, but of course, we always tend to strive beyond expectations. So one day, one of our members thought up the idea "Hey, why don't we make a worst characters ever list?"

Of course, we had a few characters we could not absolutely stand, so we took his idea. Yep, the guy was a genius. With the exception of giving us more work, we were quite amused at our results.

And so, we've placed countless hours debating, deciding, and putting the list together-ok not really, but it did give us a lot of work. In the process, we had a few fist fights because we didn't agree mostly on the characters. Most of it was caused by me (ok, all me).

Of course, the list's success wouldn't be without the kind comments that the folks sent in to us. This is a Christmas special made just for everyone!

Anyways, on with the show! If you find this far too boring, don't worry-our best characters special, saved just for the Christmas weeks, will definitely amaze you, hopefully.

For our first failure, we have....the Zombieman from Doom!

Why is he garbage, you ask? It's because he's perhaps the most pathetic FPS enemy in the history of video games-he's weak, useless, and even a tickle can kill him! You can run into battle against this guy with your bare fists (he's armed with a faulty rifle with accuracy almost as bad as muskets lacking gunpowder, funnily) and you'd win 99.99% of the time. So do I really need to go into detail of what happens when you fire a rocket or anything highly explosive at this guy? Blood. LOTS of it. Not to mention a good laugh!

Even on the hardest difficulty, this guy's accuracy and damage is horrid. With the exception of firing faster, he's got nothing good. 2 pistol shots or even 3 punches will make this guy sleep once more.

To embarrass him even more, he provides crap rewards-5 bullets to feed your pistol or chaingun. Um...yay? If you have any weapons bigger than that, you probably don't even need to use them.
Unless Doomguy is barely even breathing thanks to critical level injuries, this guy is cannon fodder. No doubts about it. Wonder why Hell even bothered investing their resources on this bum?

Just look at that. 4 of them annihilated, and even more sleeping on thre groundjust like that.

Strengths: Eh...gives you 5 bullets if you kill him. Whoopee-doo.

Weaknesses: EVERYTHING ELSE

R.I.F. (Rest in Fail), Mr. Zombieman. You do win the award of being useless!

The show is about to begin!

Wassup ladies and germs (lol)! Anyways, I have to make this extremely short blog not to annoy all of ya (heh I'm sure you people are thinking my blogs are boring) but of course...to announce that the best/worst characters ever show is about to begin soon!

They have fought, survived and proved themselves of worthy of being on the list. On the opposite end, some have proven themselves to be utterly useless or annoying, that they've deserved a "bad" award. It all begins next week!

*plays late night show theme*

Announcer: IT'S DESULATED CHRISTMAS SPECIAL!!

Ahem...please, it's not time yet!

Announcer: *moans sadly and walks off the stage*

Heh...anyways, well, I'm sure you've hard a few news/updates about that list, and I'm proud to say that I need 2 more bad characters on my list. I'll be done soon.

Stay tuned, everyone!

I have been tagged.....AGAIN X2!!!

What's up ladies and gentlemen. Guess what, I've been tagged....AGAIN!!! Man, when will this ever end. But yeah, I've been tagged by RikusGirl6....the one with the brother who named his fish Spider-man. Epic

I don't know why, but that quite stood out in my memories.

But yes....oh man....I have to think up of facts yet again. Tough to do so when your life isn't very exciting compared to the average man (or woman). Well, let's get going.

1. I love Dr. Pepper.

2. I don't really like Kirby, so does this mean I have no soul?

3. I am not "gangster" and never will be. Just because I look so in my photos doesn't mean I am! Yes, I'm talking to you, Shy_Guy_Red!

4. My worst nightmare is my economics teacher from HS. She teaches like a cult leader, and still today, I have ongoing nightmares of failing her class! X_X

5. Samus is my favorite character (I'm sure a lot of people have known this by now), followed by Link, Doomguy and Mario.

6. Even to this day, I like the old-school FPS shooter, Doom. It's 16 years old, but of course, it's too addicting to let go.

7. From my view, the world will not end on 2012, get it over your heads, people. If it was, wouldn't the streets be in chaos by now?

8. I am average in terms of smartness, but of course, I thought I was a dumbass when I went to HS and was compared with the super-smart band geeks that have a bigger egothen Stalin himself.

9. I like to sleep, especially on weekends. But when it's overdone, my head hurts >_>

10. My brother is a Legend of Zelda, Kirby, and (insert name of a racing game) fanatic. Whenever we play Legend of Zelda games, he's always there giving me tips, tricks, and suggestions to play out the game. But when it comes to a boss, he hides and makes me do all the fighting. Heh.

So there you have it. Yet another 10 facts I randomly pulled out of my skull. From my point of view, the tagging REALLY needs to stop, because I'm going to start leaving empty spaces if it happens!

Ah, whatever. Peace out, everyone!

I have been tagged....AGAIN!!

What can I say, I got tagged again. Seriously, does this virus ever end!? Heh. Of course, credit for yet another one of these goes to Slyfur, commonly known as the Zelda fangirl

Man, I'll get this over with.

1. Doom was the first true video game I played.

2. I am currently in university (or college if you're from the US)

3. I just woke up at the time I was writing this

4. I am so freaking happy that I'm out of High School. Hooray.

5. I am currently organizing a "Christmas special" for everyone here on GS, since it is my 4th year here.

6. Of course, I have been on GS for 4 years now.

7. I have a scar from a 3rd degree burn, and part of my right ear is missing from something....well, nasty. Heh.

8. I used to take karate until I left for college.

9. I did not have friends on GS until like....3 years after I joined O_O

10. I was one of the only people in HS to actually get into a fight-the people at my old HS are wimps, really -_-

Well, done. Damn, I hate doing these.

But anyways, I am close to completing my best characters/worst characters Christmas special. It will probably be up in a few weeks, with the best character ever announced just before Christmas Eve.

Stay tuned, everyone!

What's coming up next....

You may wondering why I'm up a 3AM. But yeah, I just can't sleep since I have to work on an essay. Heh.

But anyways, for this upcoming December, it will be my 4th yearanniversary here on GS. As a special I will be doing a favorite characters/most hated characters special. It will be like a game show, where I'll make it all dramatic and stuff.

So everyone, what are your favorite and least favorite video game characters? Post them here since I need a bit of motivation-after all, brain cells can't survive at 5AM in the morning while you're writing an essay where you have no clue what to write.

Speak your thoughts away! (aw man I need a new tagline )

Happy Halloween everyone!

Wow! Another blog in less than a week! Heh.

Anyways,I want to wish everyone a happy Halloween. It is the time when we can get free candy without our parents screaming at our heads! Well, that's what my parents did all the time, they told me not to eat so much sweets XD

Well, even though I don't dress up anymore, it'd be amazing to dress up as the Doomguy:

Doomguy

That's NOT Master Chief if that's what you're thinking.

The character that revolutionized FPS games, Doomguy is a man of few words that lets his weapons do his talking.

Well, there's not much to say, but happy trick or treating!

Alright, here's the lowdown.....

The title says it all. Here we go.

Anyways, I will do a best characters ever countdown-I simply have TOO many games to sort out to see which one is my favorite! I find it easier to blog about my favorite characters instead.

Note: This won't start a while, and I'll start from the top ten. This includes both heroes and villains.

As an added bonus, I'll do a "worst character ever" category, although I'll cut it down to 2. lol

Stay tuned! I will begin to work on it.

Ideas for a countdown?

Hey everyone. It's been a while since my last blog...almost 2 months! (ok, not really XD)

Well, it's almost a month and a half into college, and I really have to say, things are going well for me and I'm not being buried under a pile of miseries, so I guess that's some good news.

Anyways, I'm thinking of doing a countdown, anyone got any good recommendations? For me, I might be doing a game countdown or a favorite characters (complete with pictures and background information) countdown. I dunno. XD

Speak your thoughts away!

Possibly the last blog before I head off to University+favorite characters!

Well, I have approximately two weeks before I head off for University. So I guess I'll make this last blog a bang before I go.

First of all, I can't believe I managed to make around 35 reviews in my time on GS. Most of them are pretty detailed reviews (especially for my favorite games) so it's really a big surprise, since I have a tendency to stop writing almost immediately

Without adieu, I'd add a little special to my possibly last blog for a very long time-a favorite characters list. These are in no particular order, so let's get this show on the road!

Favorite Characters (Both villains and heroes)

Mario-who wouldn't know this guy? He's the mascot for Nintendo, and possibly, video games in general. Making his first debut on Donkey Kong back in the 80s, he is perhaps the biggest icon in the video game community hands down. And besides, he does it all without weapons-unless you count fireballs and hammers. What kind of character jumps on characters and kills them outright? Very few, and not only this, Mario was the first one to use the concept. His only weakness? Save Peach in countless games. A big weakness to his games-since he's done it countless times. I think it's time for him to get a new job. But don't get me wrong, this guy deserves the praises he gets.

Link-ahh, the green hero of the Triforce. Not as iconic as Mario, but still famous regardless-why, just about any Nintendo fan knows him just as much as Mario! He's the Luke Skywalker of Nintendo-the underdog in the beginning of the game, but a freaking famous hero of legends by the end of the game. Even funnier in Ocarina of Time, he get loved by just about all the girls he meets

Samus-When I first played Metroid for the NES at the age of 2, I had the impression that Samus was a cyborg of some sort-after all, what kind of human runs around with laser cannons and rolls up into balls to navigate narrow passageways? I was proven wrong by the end of the game when Samus is in fact a human-not only this, but she's also a female Because of this, she's an icon in terms of female characters.

Albert Wesker-a well-known Resident Evil character. He may start off as your commanding officerbut when you first meet this guy, just don't give him a positive impression. Why, in fact he does help you in the beginning of the game, he's actually a double agent-by luring your characters into the mansion of nightmares and locking you in. He gets a taste of what he deserves at the end of the game...but supervillains like him don't go THAT easily. He returns in the next few installments as a living superweapon...so whenever he shows up, keep that trusty knife and combat shotgunclose.

The Doomguy-a VERY underrated character in the video game community. For those who don't know who the Doomguy is, he's actually a fan-made name for the anonymous Space Marine in the Doom games. What makes him so special, you may ask? It's the fact he turned Hell (yes, the Netherworld) into a wreck-not once, but FOUR times. Not only this, but he does it all alone-even in the state of realizing all his fellow buds are dead or eaten, this guy keeps a cool head, loads his pistol, and begins a one-man war against Satan's legions. Is there another character that's as badass as this guy? The best FPS hero in my opinion.

Solid Snake-the soldier of fortune for the Metal Gear games. He's a combination of a soldier, spy, special forces agent and commando in the body of a clone. Not only this, but he's actually the "inferior" out of all the Snakes (Solid, Liquid, and Naked Snake). Created with the DNA of the original Snake (Naked Snake), he actually has all of Naked's inferior genes, while Liquid has the superior strands of DNA. But Snake is far from inferior. Proving all of this in Metal Gear Solid, he braves guards, attack dogs, hazardous environments, a microwave, cyborg ninjas, Genome Soldiers, and of course, the Metal Gears. What would he tell you if you asked him for advice? His answer will probably be "The cardboard box is your best friend."

Ganondorf-the big, bad and ugly villain in the Legend of Zelda series. Not only this, but he's the Darth Vader of Nintendo. He's got the black color, the cloak and the red sword-all he needs is a massive army that Link needs to fight through at the end of the game, because it's often never large enough. He's already pretty evil, but if he was more evil like causing genocides, he'd be PERFECT. No doubts about it.

Ridley-if you played at least two Metroid games, you'd know why he's awesome. Although the games never explain his background, the Metroid manga actually does-in fact, it reveals why Samus hates him so much. But regardless, you won't find a better boss in most games-this draconic terror resurrects himself countless times, and not only this, he comes back with a ton of nasty weapons at his disposal. Not only this but the soundtrack that plays when you fight this guy is just pure epic.

The Cyberdemon-ah, the giant behemoth from Hell that appears in Doom multiple times. This guy's a cybernetic minotaur that has a rocket launcher for his left arm, and will take pleasure in splattering your marine into a pile of bloody popcorn with no mercy. 'Nuff said. Now imagine facing 13 of these in one level (yes, it does happen).

The Cyborg Commando-unless you played Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun, you won't know what I'm talking about. But anyways, this is the Brotherhood of Nod's most powerful ground unit...with the Terminator's (yes, the one from the movies) attitude. Gotta love the moments when he announces lines such as "For the Brotherhood." or "Terminated!" in a badass cybernetic voice whenhe's about to fry entire infantry divisions with a Plasma Cannon. Too bad you can only use this guy in skirmish games, and not campaign missions.

Fox McCloud-ace pilot of the Starfox team and hero in his games. Flying in his Arwing and doing barrel rolls, he pursuits his enemies in a never-ending quest. Basically, heroic ace pilots always get a noteworthy mention in my favorite characters book. Why? Because there aren't a lot of these in the gaming community

The Tyrant-anyone remember the thing that killed Wesker? This is it. A freaking mutant with a giant oversized middle finger that's used as a sword. It's also one heck of a nasty creature-with an exposed heart, this thing nearly made me vomit on first sight

Meta Knight-I never knew they'd place such a badass character in the Kirby series. He's got the sound and badassness of Darth Vader, and the fact is how he takes over Dream Land in a 50 thousand megaton flying battleship just makes him better!

Zelda-now you may think I'm crazy and delusional for mentioning her (sigh...the titular character and princess from the Legend of Zelda series for those who don't know...lol) but you really have to give her credit for helping Link. After all, we don't have a lot of princesses in the gaming world that actually help the hero.

Now that took me long to type up! Man, I need a break, XD. But yes, in conclusion, I will probably not be coming on GS for a long time after I leave for university, so expect a huge decrease of activeness from me.

Wow, level 38 already.

I should have written a blog about this a long time ago, but since I didn't really notice the level until now, I felt like it. XD

But yeah, I find it surprising I'm at level 38 and close to 20k posts already. Been here for over three years, although I didn't really become active until when SSBB came out. I guess unions inviting me also had something to do with it.

Summer's almost over, meaning it's back to school >_> ugh.

A depressing and disappointing summer.

Sup everyone. I really have nothing good to do for a while so I decided to write a blog for no reason whatsoever.

Anyways, this month has been going terrible for me. I have so many things to worry about since I'm going to university in a month or so, and I have so many things to deal with-money, planning, and brains. My parents will support me for the first year and they will likely not to for the next coming years. Then I have to worry about planning-after all, it's a new year for me. So, lots of planning. Finally, I'm going to need the brains to survive. Yes-I'm academically idiotic, so that explains it. Bad report cards and repeated threats and beatings (I nearly got kicked out of the house once as a matter of fact )from my dad proves it all. I failed math 2 times in high school so I don't even know why I even have the courage to even say that >_>

And recently, nightmares of my past has been haunting me, like being cut in the throat back in gr 7 and 8, being ridiculed and humiliated in high school, and being a loner with no friends (go ahead and laugh) in gr 7 and 8. I literally wake up in cold sweats at night because those, were the true fears of my life at that time.

Finally, my grandmother just died of cancer about 3 weeks ago-I didn't want to write it up for some reason. That's 4 family relatives dead from cancer-both grandfathers, my uncle, and now, my grandmother. I got the news 2 days later I got back from my cruise, and I was "...please tell me you're lying." Of course, it was the truth.

I suppose not everyone is a fortunate, happy-go-lucky individual like most of the general population.

Life is punishing me. I just know it. Most people deny the fact, but of course, from my experiences, it's a shame to admit it's true.

Vacation Pictures!

As promised, I finally managed to borrow my aunt's camera. And without adieu, here are some of my vacation pics! They are both from my New York City and Bahamas trip.

WARNING: Mass amounts of pictures up ahead!

These are the stuff I got at Nintendo World Store at NYC. A LOT of people have been wanting to see what they are and...here they are. A Toon Link and Kirby plushie...and my $85 Sheik Trophy! lol I didn't open it yet-since I didn't want to break it because accidents happen. Oh well

That's me and my bro at Rockefeller Centre. It's a REALLY populated and heavily crowded place! Aside from the unnecessarysmog and pollution, it's an awesome city to take a tour in.

And there's us two again, at the Top of the Rock (the main attraction at Rockefeller). Wonder what my bro is looking at?

Us two again, at the hotel. We were dying to go to sleep, as we were exhausted!

There's a lot more, but I'll cut it short there! And now, I'll show you my pictures when I went on vacation in the Bahamas.

Me and my bro in a water-melon eating contest on the cruise ship! I kinda laughed when I saw this since we both look like a bunch of fatties pigging out at the buffet.

Me and my bro, after swimming. Behind us is the mini-squarium at the Atlantis Adventure attraction at Nassau. That big fish behind us is a lazy nurse shark. Look at the upper left corner and you can actually see one of them sleeping

Both of us on the cruise ship. That's the Atlantis Resort behind us! Yes we look weird >_>

Well, what a surprise. I hope I gave you people enough laughs for one day!

I'm back from my killer vacation.

Hey, what's up everyone. I just got back from the airport a couple of minutes ago, and of course, I'm using the last ounces of my energy to give you yet another blog after my crazy vacation to the Florida and the Bahamas. Hah, go me.

Anyways, let me start off by saying I missed a lot of you guys and girls on GS. Although I had a lot of fun on my vacation, I didn't forget about myfriends here.I won't mention names-but most of them are from the Catz Clan,so you know who you are

Alright, I went to Miami on Monday at 3AM in the morning, and yes, I stayed up all night. I couldn't sleep, duh A few hours later after some insane security checks, we FINALLY got on the cruise ship at....5PM on Monday. And this was the beginning of my trip to the Bahamas!

Here's the stuff I got to do:

-see the ocean floor of the Bahamas (although I got sick >_>)
-go snorkelling and see lots of fishes! Good thing I didn't run across a shark, although a nurse shark (slow, but not aggressive) came REALLY close.
-get a chance to check out the Aquadventure attraction at the Atlantis Resort in the main capital of the Bahamas, Nassau!
-see an awesome aquarium of manta rays, reef sharks, and lots of other fishes.
-pet a dolphin! Although I didn't get to swim with one
-explore a beach. I loved the feeling of sand between my toes.
-and above all else, explore the awesome cruise ship I was on and do awesome stuff like swimming and pigging myself out on the buffets!

That's about it, folks. Aside from the unnecessary long security checks, it was an awesome trip overall. Until next time, everyone!

A note to everyone!

Hey everyone. I'm leaving for a week in 2 days so expect a whole week of inactivity from me. I'll be back next Saturday...evening, I think.

Ok, I gotta go now, peace out!
