It's 2 AM, I'm awake and I have lessons early tomorrow...

Well... it's been awhile again.
I'm pretty sure nobody's reading my blog anymore, but it's
still fun to write here a little now and then...
University started last week and we're already deep in this
gooy mess called 4th semester... Funny thing to say on my
2nd week, but I'm horribly tired

Hmm, something else:
I've become an Asian (but mostly Korean) drama addict
(obviously). I'm pretty sure I'll write reviews for some of the
movies I love. I hope they'd get you at least a little interested
and you'll try some of those movies too...

Anywayz... It's already 2:15 and really need to sleep, so bye
for now... I'll hopefully be back with more info soon...

The strangest thing EVER!

Hi Everyone!
I'm back from a holiday week in Greece... It was really great, but that's not really what I want to talk about right now. What I want to mention is something absolutely unlikely that happened to me in Greece:
My brother and I were sleeping in the same room. The room was pretty warm, but not bad enough to use A/C, we rather kept the balcony door open for the night. One evening I woke up to some noise behind my back and when I listened a little more I felt the sheets move... I'm not the panicing type, but I felt my adrenalin lever rise... I turned to see what was behind my back and came face to face with a cat! She was lying on the bed with a very contented look on har face, and when I patted her head in disbelief she started purring... I didn't have the heart to chase her out.. We stayed like that for a few hours and then she just disappeared... My brother didn't even turn in his sleep through the whole thing...
I had no idea where she came from, but when I walked out to the balcony the next morning I realized there was a small garage roof not much below the balcony floor... I'm sure she climbed up to the roof and jumped up on the balcony...

It was the strangest thing that ever happened to me...

Respect nurses...

Hiya Everyone!
This is my 2nd week in the hospital and so many things have happened... We've learnt lots of useful things and tried to help patients every way we could...
We are on the haematological ward where most patients are
very sick, having leukemia, sickle-cell disease or other diseases of
unknown origin.
Nurses say we've been assigned to the the hospital ward
where the sickest people in the whole hospital stay. I somehow had a feeling that this was the case, because we had a lot more to do than the others on different hospital wards...

The worst has already happened: Two of the patients we (the 1st year medics) were helping died of their serious illnesses... It's such a horrible thing, especially after we've really started to care for them... Thankfully we weren't there when it happened, I don't know how I would've handled that... The nurse who is in charge of us said the way the old lady died was quite horrible, so it's better that we didn't have to watch.

Something else: I accidentally stung myself with a needle today. Thankfully it was still sterile, but it was a huge warning for me to be more careful.
I don't know how nurses can do all these tasks with so much precision an speed. One really needs to be part of the hospital-system to realize and appreciate what an awfully hard and both physically and emotionally exhausting job it is to be a nurse. They do EVERYTHING on their own, doctors only come by now and then, for only a few minutes and then disappear...
Nurses deserve a big THANK YOU for all the hard work they do...

Album Review

Scarlet's Walk Tori Amos
""
This is the album that got me hooked. I was amazed by the ideas in her songs and the care they were written with. The whole album really feels like a journey, every song a step on a long road that actually leads somewhere. It's great that the lyrics have layered meanings, but are quite accessible compared to some of her other albums. It's good for a "first album", piqueing your interest and making your hungry for more. It also helps you to get used to Tori's way of thinking, so you won't run away screaming when you hear her less understandable, raw-emotional masterpieces like Professional Widow.
