Hi, please check out the video of my becoming rank 100 in Gears of War 2.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_owSz14HdA
I own the 3 major consoles. I'm going to briefly talk about each one and how they've treated me this generation. I will say that there is a clear cut winner for me. I could easily have been satisfied with owning just one of these consoles at this point. Let's see which one I'm talking about.
Obviously, it's all opinion, so if anyone feels butthurt about their favorite console getting a bad grade, don't. I understand there are games I just don't have for whatever reason.
Wii- I bought the Wii at launch, lured in by Twilight Princess and the overall supposed revolution the system promised to offer. Like with every new gaming console, the excitement was there and it started off well. Twilight Princess was a great game. Over the next year and a half, RE4: Wii Edition (any excuse to replay this game for the 20th time was fine with me), Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl came out. They were pretty evenly spaced out, with some other decent games here and there to fill the gaps. I ended up playing Brawl for about 2 months straight and that's been it for the Wii for me. I'm sure I turned on the system once or twice since then for some reason, but I haven't bought or played a game for it in over a year and a half. It has the five gems that I listed that are among my favorite games ever, but not much else to me and I see little that excites me in the future, other than the new Zelda, Metroid, and Mario games...as usual. Current Grade: D+
360- Easily the system I've spent the most time with. At least 90% of my gaming this gen has been done on this console. I bought it in May 2006 with Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and put in over a hundred hours into that game and never looked back since. Once Gears of War came out that fall, it seems like there hasn't been a month since that I wasn't interested in at least one game. My collection is sitting at about 30 retail games for the console and I've purchased many XBLA games, my favorites being the two Geometry Wars games. I just like the set up of the whole system. I like achievements, I like how easy it is to browse the marketplace, and my friends have the system as well so it is good to game with them. To be fair to the PS3, I own a lot of games that are multiplatform titles so maybe if the PS3 arrived first, I would be snapping up all those games for it instead. I doubt it, but either way, I feel the system has better exclusives or at the very least, it had the games I like first (Oblivion, Lost Planet, etc). Yes, I eventually got the red ring after 2 1/2 years of owning the system, but sending it back cost nothing and I ended up getting a newer model in less than two weeks. Hard to argue with that kind of service. Current Grade: A
PS3- This system has been a complete failure for me. I got it as a Christmas present in 2006. I feel bad that I don't game like crazy on it because it was obviously an expensive gift. If it wasn't given to me, I can safely say I still wouldn't own the system at this point 3 years later. It would have taken the once exclusive Final Fantasy XIII or God of War III to make me finally take the plunge. I own 2 games for it. The first Resistance game and Ninja Gaiden Sigma. That's it. Granted, there are a good 8 games or so that are out that I'm interested in getting at some point, examples being Metal Gear Solid 4 and the Uncharted games, but there hasn't been that one game that demanded my attention yet. It doesn't help that so many games are also on the 360. I always go for the 360 version when deciding, mainly due to the familiarity, the controller, etc. Like the Wii, I have virtually no desire to game on this machine for some bizarre reason. Plus, my system got the yellow light of death a few months ago after I updated it, so I've been out of at least a Blu-ray player. I need to figure out what to do, because God of War III is approaching at least. Current Grade: F
2 Most Anticipated QuarterOne Games:
Final Fantasy XIII: Like many gamers, this is one of my favorite series and each new release is a colossal event for me. Outside of not even purchasing the online XI, when I got into this series in sometime around 1999, I proceeded to play and beat every game in the series. I briefly played VIII and eventually started with IX, then going to VIII and VII, before completing Parts 1-6 over time. When X came out, I borrowed my friends PS2, rented the game, and put in like 40 hours in a sole weekend. I didn't beat it, but a couple of months later, I bought my own PS2 and a copy of the game, started over, and devoured the game. I found XII very engrossing as well, I think I ended up with around 55 hours on my file before moving onto Twilight Princess which came out a few weeks after it. As for the upcoming XIII, I'm not losing sleep over getting my hands on it, but it's Final Fantasy and I'm confident it will take up most of my free time. The big decision is which system to get it for. Since Part VII onwards has been on a Playstation console, I'd feel at home getting it on the PS3. Of course, my system is dead so I would have to get it repaired. Or I could get it for the 360, which I do all my gaming on and not worry about getting the PS3 repaired.
God of War III: Then we have this game which comes out just 3 weeks later and screws up my plan to not have the PS3 repaired. The God of War games were both probably in my top 10-15 games of the previous generation and this one looks just as great. If there is any game that will make me invest myself in the PS3, it would be this game. Decisions, decisions, decisions.
Just leveled up once agian. 4 months it took me to get to the next level. That is all.
ok, so ive recently been watching some one piece, and ive come to realize just how much i dislike this so, to the point that it is constanly PISSING ME OFF. Ive been watching anime for a while and i have a tolerence for anime logic as much as the next guy, but COMMON (come on), some of the **** that happens in one piece is pushing it even by anime logica standards.
Im currently on episode 119, and in the past i have pretty much been to lazy to write something like this, but my level of annonyance with this so is building up to a point where i gotta find a place to vent it, so i thought this is as good place as any to do so, ppl can read it if they like, if not, it doesnt really matter. And since this is my first post on this subject and im already on ep 119, there is alot of back up events that pissed me off about this show i will just summerize because i cant really remember all of it, there just too much, so ill just write down w/e is on the top of my head first.
Ok, so my first complaint is the fact that the freaking main character, Luffy is such a dumb ass, i know typical Shonen characters are suppose to be strong headed, and gutsy and perhaps not the brightest bulb in the bunch but luffy just takes that to a wholeanother level, during the desert trip to country whatchamacallit, he got out smarted by a **** bunch of birds, and got his entire partys supplies stolen, i mean come on, you know you are stupid if you are out witted by a pack of stupid ass birds.
Also how the hell did he get so freakin strong, he comes fromsomedinky little island in the middle of freaking no where, and yet he is justsounbelieveablly strong, and is able to kick the asses of all theseinfamous pirates with notypical shonen trainning montage required, HOW!?!?!
And speaking of being over powered, how can someone so over powered be disabled from fight so easily?for the shark fight, he was traped under water for most of that fight, which with one piece logic, it is understandable, since ppl who ate the devil fuits and swim.... and yet the show is entirely about these ppl being pirates. Can you say conflict of interest. and during another fight, on the ironically named little garden, which is an island where giants live, he was half pined down by a really big rock... and to that i say SERIOUSLY!?! he was blowing down buildings and **** in preivous fights and a big rock stops him from fighting... come on.He totally could have punched that rock and shattered a section of it, if not, then dig a little space under him so he can have a bit of a shimmying space to wiggle him self out of there, but what does he do instead? In true shonen fashion, he begins to scream at the top of his lungs, hope somehow that will free him, for like 3 episodes.
Now on to the topic of Usop(spel?). How is this guy relevent? i understand in every anime there is suppose to be a comic reliefe, but with luff as the dumb ass of the show, why do we need usop? He has not fighting powers, and his more annoying than funny most of the time, actually i never found him funny, his just annoying, and that goddamn NOSE! i just wanna rip it OFF! and he invents this weapon for nami which might as well be magicall, it can alter the weather and **** i mean wtf, where does get the material to make that **** and since this is the desert arc, this magical weapon can produce water AND rain clouds on demand... why the **** didnt they pull it out before hand, it they could have avoid the entire big battle for the country if they had just done that, because the entire conflic has been revolving around the lack of rainfall in this desert kindom and ppl are suffering because of it. and this weapon he made for nami is sooo much better than anything he him self has as a weapon which basically consists of a sling shot and a bunch of balls that blows up, which in the world of one piece where every one has crazy has powers just dont do **** Its like takeing a grenade to a DBZ charater, IT AINT GONNA DO ****!
Now on to Vivi the cry baby of a princess, i mean common can she be any more useless... she had one **** job, is to meet with the reble leaders and stop that desert rebellion, and she failed to do that. so then she runs to her palace for w/e reason and trips and falls over in the process... you'd think since time is off the essence, she would get back up and haul ASS, but noooo, instead what does she do? she slowly gets back up as if she had recieved a mortal wound and starts to monologue in her head as she is crying about how useless she is and how many ppl will die with the rebellion continues, at this point im just losing it... im all like **** stoping you ****ing and start running before some one smacks you. And once she gets to the palace, she then convinces the royal guards that its a good idea to completely blow up the palace in order to get the attention of the rebel so that she can talk to the rebel leader, which for all intense and purposes will stop the voilence. but COMMON!!!!! blow up a palace?!? is that the best you can come up with? there gotta be a better less wasteful way of getting the rebel's attention, like maybe idk raise a white Flag! because the point is that she needs to talk to the rebel leader, because they are childhood friends and appreantly had a fairly good relationship.
Now on to this latest Zoro fight. As a character, i actually like Zoro, him and Sanji are perhaps the character that have the most commonsense and are not constanly acting like dumbasses, but the lastest fight did not make a whole lot of sense. By lattest, i mean latest to me, which is completely out date for anyone who actually kept up with the series which is more than 400+ eps no, God know why... but im on ep 120, and Zoro (a dude with 3 swords) was fighting this big dude who can turn his entire body into steel blades, so Zoro needs to over come this by becoming A MAN WHO CAN CUT STEEL! so during this fight, zoro is beaten down and cut up pretty bad, and at one point, he is knocked back on to a pillar, and essentially defenceless, and the big dude (Mr ONE) essetially slices right through him and through the pillers to the point that the pillars are cut up into discs, and collapses. While on the brink of death, Zoro has some sort of BS philosophical revealation that allows him to cuts through steel, which allows him to one hit KO mr. ONE who is made of steel... and after the fight Zoro says: "oh **** i lost alot of blood, but good thing the wound is not deep." and im just like, WTF the wound is not deep my ass, you got drilled by steel blades and cut by blades that even cut through the pillars that were behind you while you were absolutely defenceless. The fact that you body isnt in pieces right now is a **** anime miracle, itjust shows how thick your plot armor is...
alright thats all for now, even though this is ramblellyand full of spelling errors, i just had to get it out there.
One of the greatest musical talents of my generation has gone home. Michael Jackson has left this earth, but he will never be forgetten. Michael Jackson changed music from his voice, his dance moves, his voice, even his character. Regardless if you loved him or hated him, he is perhaps the biggest icon in my generation and he will always be remembered and never forgotten.
Rest in Peace... "The Gloved One" ... "King of Pop"

Over the years, comic book movies have evolved. When we were blessed with the Superman franchise back in the '80's, people were starting to realize how in depth these comic book characters are. People have their favorites when it comes to the characters, but when it comes to me, I am in Batmans corner till the end. Something about a real person with no particular supernatural advantages appealed to me.
After the Horrific plunder of Schumakers "Batman and Robin", Batfans all across the world were screaming for someone to come along and give this amazing story the justice it deserves. After a long wait, directoral newcomer Christopher Nolan came along and completely forgot about Burton and Schumakers batman. "Batman Begins" was released, and was widely considered the best of all of them.
Nolan brought to Begins a brand new cast. Christian Bale portrayed Batman (in my opinion) perfectly. With Bale and Nolan came a whole slew of actors including veterens Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, and Gary Oldman.
Begins was a commercial sucess, but it left people asking "What's next?"
On July 18th, 2008, The Dark Knight was released after much viral marketing hype. Did it live up to it?
Yes, it did. Returning was the full A-List cast excluding the only Begins dragdown, Katie Holmes. But a few newcomers came, too.
Aaron Eckhart hasent been recognized much, but his portrayel of Harvey Dent was superb, and very believing. Considering its not the easiest of characters to play, Eckhart should get a lot of recognition for this. He really performed superbly.
But the show stealer was by far the leater Heath Ledger, who portrayed Joker in such a twisted and psychopathic manner that it begged the question, "How the hell is this rated PG-13?". Ledgers Joker was so out of place among the other type of characters, yet felt right at home.
A lot of talk has been going around about the Oscar for Ledger. Well I must say, he deserves this one more than anyone in the world.
OVERALL: The cinematic perfection known as The Dark Knight has not flaws in my book, and not only contends as the best crime movie of all time, but the best overall movie of all time.
MY RANK: A+ 10/10 * * * * *
Today I reached Level 39 here on GameSpot. I'll take this opportunity to talk a little bit about what I've been up to lately.
Spring break is next week, and I am really looking forward to it (as any other sophomore in college would). I have a computer science midterm on Friday, but I've had relatively little work to do lately and have been playing a lot of games. I finally won my 500th ranked online win in GH3, and now the only achievement I don't have in that game is the achievement for getting 750,000 on a single song. Sure, I could dedicate a few weeks of my life to mastering TTFATF or cheating to get the achievement, but screw both of those options. For now I will patiently wait for new songs to be released where it is reasonable to get the 750,000.
Anyways, Spring break is going to be awesome. I'm going to be staying at school and going a few concerts, doing plenty of snowboarding, and of course, playing a game or two. My friend and I are planning on renting Army of Two and going through to co-op, and I also have Condemned 2, SSBB, Burnout Paradise, and a list of other games to play that I haven't finished yet.
To everyone who is either on Spring break or will be going on Spring break, have a fun week!
here is the latest signature i made. i'm currently using it and really like it. it's nothing too fancy, just a simple photo manip that wasn't that hard.

senior year has been going by hella fast, but I'm pretty ok with that. I've noticed that I haven't blogged in such a long time, and I realize that almost nobody visits this page or reads this blog ever, but it kind of irks me that I haven't written anything in so long. since my last blog:
- I've been accepted to the School of Arts and Sciences as a film major at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
- I wen't to California (wewt) for a weekend. we visited Hollywood, Anaheim, and Long Beach. maybe my next blog will be chock full of pictures from there.
- actually, now that I think about it, my next blog might be promoting my youtube account and the videos I've made since the one below THIS blog.
- I finally picked up GRAW, I'm getting GHII on Tuesday, and I've reserved my Legendary Edition of Halo 3. holla.
- also, I finally got an Edge card from GS, as well as a subscription from Game Informer, although I prefer NP XBM.
- good news on my tax return- $250-ish dollars. whatever I save on top of that, my parents are willing to match (up to $600) and apply to a notebook for college. that's pretty damn exciting.
- graduation is coming up in about two months and I couldn't be more glad.
- I guess I might as well take this chance to plug my videos, so visit: http://www.youtube.com/ryanoxerous
to those of you who read this, thanks. until next time.
Well like millions and millions of my closest friends, I also am waiting for the PS3 to launch. Now about a few hundred thousands are going to get it before Christmas, so how can I get one.
Well I cant pre-order one yet, but what I did do was pre-buy a ps3 game so when the local EB games gets that call from Sony to start taking pre-orders, Ill be the one that gets that pre-order first. However they can only take one per household so that means I cant pre-order 2 or 3 like I originally planned (sell 1 or 2 so that one is practically free). But luckily theres another EB games 5 miles further down the road, and ill get another pre-order from them.
Now just getting a pre-order isnt promised a ps3 on launch day but its more likely that you will get one. So to up the odds Im going to be like the hardcore gamers out there (you know who you are) and camp outside the EBgames and make sure that im the first to get one.
There's just one BIG flaw in all of this, that I see. I cant be at 2 places at once, meaning I can't be at 2 EB games at the same time. So i have to have the help of my bro. He's going to help me (for 10% of the profit on the second one) by purchasing the other one or 2.
I think this is a sound, fool-proof plan. Im getting my PS3 no matter what. So stay tuned for the outcome later on Nov. 17, 2006.
I havent been here since the weird site redesign in October and everything in my profile got deleted

Last night, I went to bed, listening to Ugly Cassanova, and Modest Mouse. I was thinking of the PSP, Sin City, and then life in general, things that I would want to do, things that I would like to change about the world, and I was just in amazement of the world around me, out of so many infinite unimaginable possibilities, this was how the world was. Soon I began getting tired, and before you know it I was fast asleep. Next thing I remember, I was going to a room, a room I knew as my music room, which had about 5 big cupboards full with CD's.
I was there with one of my dad's friends, an old guy with a beard, and some other people that I do not remember. I realized that I was in a dream, because I do not have that much music, as soon as this realization occurred, I began to float, I reached out to the ceiling with my hands, and touched it, and looked around. The guy with the beard was looking at me, he asked a question, which I do not remember. After an awkward silence, I chose to say Yes, jokingly. I looked around. Everyone was looking at me.
Then suddenly the world plunged into darkness, my whole being was vibrating, especially my head. In the darkness, I could faintly hear someone talking, but I was in a state of confusion so I could not make it out. Soon, I calmed myself, and lay flat, I could understand the speech. It was a man, I do not know who, talking to me. Telling me that he has heard my thoughts night after night, heard my thoughts about the world, things I want to change, things I want to do. He seemed to have a criticizing tone. He said that I should just do it, just go for it. What I should go for, was unclear, but I have ideas of what all this meant.
Then I pried my eyes open, and I was awake, I looked at the clock, it was 2:53. As soon as I awoke, my mind was attempting at forcing me back to sleep, but due to the experience I had I was unwilling to succumb to slumber. I tried to get my mind off of things, and began thinking of PSP. Soon, when I had calmed down I was about to go to sleep, when, suddenly, out of nowhere, with no context as to what I was thinking before, a phrase popped into my mind. "The Devil will try to contact you tonight." I was thinking of nothing related to that subject, I was thinking of Video games, and the like, and this phrase just popped into my head.
Suddenly, my mind was forcing me back to sleep, and I was afraid to follow, I tried to keep myself awake. My head felt like it was vibrating violently, and my surroundings were turning from blue to red, and vice-versa, over and over. It was an insane feeling, but finally, I calmed myself, and all was normal. Due to the intensity of this experience I had no intentions of going directly back to sleep, so I turned the TV on, and watched some cartoons.
