The Christmas and New Year Blog
This Christmas was pretty good, I got a leather jacket, 100 dollars cash, 50 dollar gas gift card, DVDs. Also I'd like to say Happy New Year to all of TV.com. This year my New Years Resolution is: To get through the 2008 without going crazy ![]()
I'm still enjoying Netflix that I got 12 months free of from being in the audience of Millionaire but a word of advice if you get Netflix you should get 2 at a time unlimited. The free one they gave us is 1 at a time unlimintated which means that I can only have 1 DVD at my house at a time it's annoying because it's slow, and sometimes you want to watch more than 1 movie in a couple of days. When you send the DVD back you get the next one really fast but it's still better to be able to have two at a time. I'm still not sure if it would be worth paying for after my free subscription runs out, but I still do enjoy having it.
NetFlix
I was in the audience again of Millionaire in late October, it was movie week so they gave us all free 12 month subscriptions to NetFlix. If you see this blog please put in the comments your absolute favorite movie and I may get it. Just so it's fair I'll give you the name of my latest favorite movie: Memento
I was in the Audience of Who Wants to Be A Millionaire
All in all, it was a lot of fun and I already signed up to get more tickets.
Death Note
I recently started reading a manga series called Death Note. Now before you lose interest and say to yourself "I'm not really a manga fan" I'd appreciate it if you'd please read what I have to say. I consider myself an avid reader, I always have a book on me. I've read great books by Orson Scott Card, Arthur C. Clarke, James Patterson and many other authors. But Death Note I honestly consider to be one of the greatest stories ever written. It is about:
"Light Yagami is an ace student with great prospects- and he's bored out of his mind. But all that changes when he find the Death Note, a notebook dropped by a rough Shinigami death god. Any human whose name is written in the notebook dies, and Light has vowed to use the power of the Death Note to rid the world of evil. But will Light's nole goal succeed, or will the Death Note turn him into the very thing he fights against" --From the back of the book.
That summary doesn't do this book series justice. It is a series of 12 manga (graphic novels) books. I am up to volume #10. This book has everything I've ever looked for in a book, A brilliant yet eccentric detective, a super nature device, a man hunt, twists, suspense. Don't worry though, if reading books isn't your thing in Japan it is a TV series as well and you can find it online with subtitles. I'm hoping the TV series will come to America and be dubbed.
Note: please do not submit any comments that contains spoiler about this series if you have read it.
Please Vote
I created a poll in the TV.com Idea's section; it asks "Should there be a bookspot? (a site devoted to books)". CNET has a site for all mediums of entertainment: TV, Movies, Music and Games but no books. If you support the idea of a "bookspot" please vote yes. Thanks:
