I love the UFC 2009 Undisputed Demo.

Probably it is because of the graphics, the atmosphere, the animations, the detail of the characters, the realism... but this is one of those demos that can keep me playing for hours.

I don't know if I will buy the game. I didn't have so many games still to play and so few time available, I would consider buying it. However, the demo was a great surprise.

I've been testing a lot of websites that offer Trophycards. Some of them are automatic (such as PlayStation.com or Playfire), and support a lot of nice features.

However, I strongly recommend you http://ps3trophycard.com/. It also updates automatically, and it has the best characteristics of each of the websites I mentioned. It shows, the number of trophies you have, your last trophies, your country, your ranking, your PSN avatar...Additionally, it doesn't request your PSN password or e-mail, just your ID.

Yep, today I've realised that my last blog entry is from February 7... 2008. So I've proposed myself to start writing this blog again, to share my ideas about this industry, videogames, and whatever I find interesting.

Today I'd like to show you what videogames I have for the PlayStation 3. I bought the consoloe some time ago (April-May 2007 I think), but I've never told you so much about it.

Right now, I'm playing Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Tom Clancy's EndWar, Tiger Woods 09 and Resistance 2. The last game I bought was Killzone 2 and I'm really enjoying it. I've just finished the game without dying and reached the General rank online. I (just) have to finish the game on Elite mode and get the weekly ranks to achieve the Platinum trophy.

What do you think about my collection? What games would you add?

This is the reason that will make me beat the game one more time. There is still some work to do, but the screens look very nice and the developers seem very serious, so I think this website is worth getting bookmarked.

Last Friday was one of the most important dates in Spanish sport history. Pau Gasol, arguably the best basketball player in our history, signed for the Los Angeles Lakers.

I think that this trade is something like a masterpiece by Mike Kupchak. They get one all-star for their weakest position, giving almost nothing: Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, Aaron McKie, two future first-round picks and Marc Gasol. Kwame Brown is an obstruction in every time he plays for and getting rid of it is nearly as good as signing Pau Gasol. Javaris Crittenton has strong potential, but he wouldn't have played so much in LA, and the same happens with Marc Gasol. Those two Draft picks will be in the 25-30 range, so it's difficult that any good player will come out of them.

Now I think that the Lakers are a real title contender. Their lineup (Fisher-Kobe-Odom-Gasol-Bynum) scares me, and I think that they can beat any team in the West (Spurs, Suns...) and in the East (Celtics, Pistons...), unless they aret affect by injuries.

Tim Schafer was already one of my idols. I think that Monkey Island 1 & 2, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango and even Psychonauts are pretty good. However, after reading this article by him I have no doubt:

I just finished Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and I will tell you this: I liked it a lot. It had beautiful environments, fun platforming, and the awesome phrase, "I'll kick you to sleep!" You should all go play it right now. It was all super next-gen, but the most next-gen thing about it to me was Drake's shirt. Check it out: Somehow it's tucked in, and yet not tucked in, at the very same time. Of all the technical marvels contained in Uncharted, this was the one that really mystified me.

Yes, the shirt was dirty, like he had partied in it all night, passed out, threw up on himself repeatedly in his sleep, and was then left in a ditch outside of town by his mean friends. And by the time he walked home his shirt was dry, so he just said, "The hell with it. Let's go find some treasure."

So, on his left side, he tucked the shirt in, to show his trim figure and stylish belt buckle. "What a handsome young man," you might say, "If he gets that shirt washed, he may date my daughter." But his right side is untucked, like the shirt of a wild man, a renegade, a scoundrel. "What is that guy up to? Why is his shirt untucked? Does he not give a damn about me and my rules?"

At no time during the game does Drake stop and tuck in the loose part of his shirt. Nor does he ever just say, "The hell with it!" and untuck the whole thing. It remains in a state of half dress for the length of the game, through all sorts of climbing, jumping, and scampering. Jet skiing, swimming, and almost kissing--nothing can dislodge or fully tuck Drake's half-casual shirt. It is draped in a purgatory state, half in, half out, never completely free. It's like an unfinished symphony.

Then I realized what a clever invention the half-tuck is. How better to show off your rock-hard abs, but still create an air of nonchalance? Much like how a mullet shows the world your business side in the front, and your party side in the back, the half-tuck tells one story on the right side, but a completely different story on the left. In encapsulates the contradiction that you are: The shy extrovert, the organized slob, the guy who likes to shop at Banana Republic but also likes to fall into the Gap when he's feeling a little crazy. The half-tuck reassures the ladies that you're a man who cares about personal grooming, but who, at the same time, couldn't give a f##k. Who doesn't like that?

Of all the treasure I found on this quest, I think this little fashion tip is the one I will cherish the most.

It's been a long time since my last and interesting post. I'm not necessarily saying that this post is interesting, but at least it has something to do with videogames.

Today I'm showing you my PS3 and PSP games collections. I know that there are some must-haves that I don't own, like Resistance, Ninja Gaiden or Heavenly Sword for PS3 and Syphon Filter, Vice City, Tekken or Ratchet & Clank. However, I'm really proud of my collection, I'm enjoying or have enjoyed every game, and nowadays I find very hard to have a decent collection (mainlty because of the price).

Yeah, this is my new emblem. It's called "Artistic Genius". I won it by submitting some banners to the second contest of Games WITHOUT Banners in the Gamespace Banner Union.One of my six banners made it to the final, and finally was selected.

That banner is this one, for one of my favorite N-Gage games, Glimmerati. As you can see, it appears now on the Gamespace of this game.

Well, first of all I have to say that I liked the movie. Secondly, I love everything related to pirates. Thirdly, it has been a long time since the last time I played a pirates game. So, I had to try this game.

I never liked games based on a movie license, I can't tell more than 2 or 3 games from this genre which became good games. However, I like to try all the games that I can, so I picked this.

It's not such as bad as it can look, I think that there's only one (big) problem. The combats are too repetitive, you always do the same movements with every character. And this, in a game which is 90% combat, is a big problem.

It can looks strange, but the part of the game that I enjoyed most are the minigames. Specially the poker and the dice games. Another thing that I liked was the "Treasure Cave". There you can see all your achievements, and unlockables.

Finally, you can see some screens that I took in my images.

I love it, it looks so... powerful. However, I think it would have been better if they gave more importance to the jungle.I can't wait for this game, I hope my PC will be able to handle it.

Se va acabando la Navidad y llegan los regalos. Por fín cambié de gráfica, ya tengo la X1950 Pro y me voy olvidando de la X1300 HyperMemory. Los resultados han sido todavía mejores de los que esperaba.

Probé los juegos que antes eran practicamente injugables con la X1300: G.R.A.W., Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07, Black & White 2 y uno nuevo: Medieval II: Total War. Con el G.R.A.W. lo puse todo al máximo, 1024x768 y saca alrededor de unos 50fps estables. Con el TW07 más de lo mismo, alrededor de 50 con todo al máximo. Y con el B&W2 unos 40 fps (qué mal optimizado está).

Decir que no solo llegó la tarjeta, también juegos nuevos. Uno era el Medieval II: Total War. Es increíble, creo que incluso supera al Rome. Eso sí, supongo que la impresión que me causó antes (con una 9250) con es la misma de ahora. Y es que lo configuro al máximo y me va fluido, con esos gráficos flipantes.

El otro juego de PC es la expansión de Civilization IV, Warlords. Está bastante bien, sobretodo cuando tu Civ4 ya está echando humo. Las civilizaciones nuevas están bastante bien, así como el vasallaje y los caudillos. Lo único malo? El percio. 30€ por una expansión.

Y para finalizar llega un nuevo juego de PSP (ya iba siendo hora): Killzone Liberation. Es una pasada, un soplo de aire nuevo al género de la acción táctica. Me encanta el motor físico, como vuela todo por los aires. Lo malo es que tiene pinta de ser bastante corto, en poco tiempo ya me he pasado casi medio juego.

Como siempre, se acercan las vacaciones y me da por escribir algo en el blog. Antes de nada, repaso como está mi situación ahora mismo...

Empezando por el PC, lo último que he hecho ha sido desinstalar el SWAT 4 tras dejar por imposible la misión en la joyería. De todas formas, me ha causado muy buena impresión en el juego, creo que si tuviera un poco más de calma a la hora de jugar lo habría disfrutado mucho más.

Pero no os creais que el espacio dejado por él lo he desaprovechado, al contrario, he reinstalado el Civilization IV. Qué puedo decir de él, es una maravilla. Estoy pensando seriamente en comprar la expansión, Warlords.

Todavía sigo con el Company of Heroes, solo me quedan dos misiones y juego terminado. Qué juegazo. Uno de los mejores del año sin lugar a dudas. Hablando de estrategia, me sigo peleando con el Black & White 2 que con mi tarjeta va de pena. Lo mismo pasa con el G.R.A.W., dificilmente jugable.

Otro juego nuevo del que no había hablado es el Dark Messiah of Might & Magic. Desde luego, no es un must-have pero no es tan malo como lo pintan algunos medios tipo GameSpot e IGN. Vale que al principio se colgaba cada 2x3, pero con el parche 1.01 ya parece un juego normal y todo. Eso sí, no puedo estar muy orgulloso de su rendimiento (será porque lo tengo con todo alto y HDR activado?).

Tampoco me olvido del Madden NFL 07. Ya he ganado la SuperBowl tanto en el modo Franquicia como Superstar, y ahora voy a por todo en la temporada 2007-2008. Con mis Falcons, que ahora tienen a T.O. y unos cuantos rookies de calidad. Y con los Chargers, aunque quiero pedir el traspaso.

Y todavía me queda por hablar de una obra maestra que he descubierto, Max Payne 2. Lo tenía guardado desde hace tiempo y por fín me animé a instalarlo. Es una pasada, no puedo decir mucho más.

Otra obra maestra que he "descubierto", aunque ahora pasamos a PS2, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Lo había dejado por falta de tiempo, pero ahora he vuelto a empezar. Es increíble, de lo mejorcito que he jugado en mi vida.

En el NBA 2K7 sigo con mis Lakers, ahora pasado el All-Star, del que salió Kobe como MVP. Vamos a ver hasta donde llego, por ahora me va muy bien (segundo de conferencia tras Phoenix).

Ahora viene la parte importante. Ayer abrí mi ordenador, saqué la gráfica y ví que era... una ATI Radeon X1300 64MB Video RAM/512MB HyperMemory!! Con esto lo digo todo, creo que toca cambio proximamente, y probablemente sea una X1950 Pro.

No se qué pasaba, pero ultimamente andaba con pocas ganas de escribir. Igual tiene algo que ver con la cantidad de juegazos que me he agenciado.

Para empezar, voy con el peor: NBA Live 07. Qué decepción. Hace falta que lo comente? No hay sustituciones del equipo rival a no ser que esté en "foul trouble", hasta el peor base de la liga te mete 50 puntos y una cantidad de bugs increíbles por todos lados: desde la jugabilidad hasta el Dynasty Mode. De verdad, paso de seguir diciendo más cosas malas porque no acabo nunca. Más fácil es decir las buenas porque son poquísimas: El Factor X (aunque mejor no abusar mucho de él). Ya está. Lo de ESPN no la pongo entre las buenas porque no encuentro dónde está la famosa integración. Ah, y los tiros personalizados?

Bueno, lo único que me ha alegrado ultimamente es la cagada de EA de colgar la beta del esperado parche en el FTP público, por lo que toda la comunidad de NBA Live de Internet ya lo tiene, y puedo confirmar que funciona. Pero qué pasa con los que lo tienen en cosola? No comment.

Siguiendo con el baloncesto, tengo que decir que me he hecho con el NBA 2K7 versión USA, y ese sí que es un juegazo. Es todo lo del año pasado con pequeñas mejoras y otras más importantes como por ejemplo los tiros personalizados (sencillamente espectulares). Aprende, EA.

Hablando de PS2, el otro juego que está ocupando parte de mi tiempo en esta plataforma junto al 2K7 es el... Kingdom Hearts II. Qué juegazo! Sobretodo porque no había jugado al uno y esta me ha convencido gratamente. En serio, se lo recomiendo a cualquier persona poseedora de una PlayStation 2.

Y para juegazos, el Company of Heroes. En serio, es brutal. Qué graficos. Y cuanta destrucción, todo se puede destruir. Lo que se siente al jugarlo es complicado de explicar, pero es comparable a muy pocos juegos de estrategia.

Además, me he travido a probar por fin el SWAT 4. Me gusta bastante, aunque en algunas ocasiones es complicado, incluso frustrante. Lo bueno es que va muy bien con todo al máximo, y eso que tiene buenos gráficos.

Y para terminar, decir que sigo viciado al Madden 07 (y van 62 horas). He llevado a mi equipo en Superstar a la Super Bowl (qué ganas de jugarla) y en el modo franquicia estoy en la final de conferencia con los Falcons.

Cómo es la vida, iba el sábado al MediaMarkt y acabo el día con un ordenador nuevo comprado en el PC City. El ordenador en sí está bien: PentiumD 950 3.4Ghz, 1.25Gb DDRII y ATI Radeon X1300 512Mb. Vamos, que solo habría que cambiarle la tarjeta gráfica en un futuro próximo y tendría ordenador para varios años.

El primer juego que probé fue el Madden. Le subí la todas las opciones al máximo y pasó de 15FPS a 38 inamovibles. Luego me atreví con el G.R.A.W.: todas las opciones al máximo, 800x600 y ya puedo jugar decentemente. Finalmente, descargué la demo del Prey. Todo absolutamente al máximo ( 1024x768 ) y 25FPS estables. Aquí van unas imágenes:

Quién me lo iba a decir. Hoy, día que tenía completamente libre y que podría haber dedicado al Madden 07 y al B&W 2... me da por jugar al SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo... y pasármelo. Bueno, la verdad es que solo me quedaban dos misiones, pero me eché un buen rato porque tuve que reiniciar cuatro veces la última.

El juego en sí me me gustó. Me parece una buena compra, sobre todo por el Modo Infraestructura y los cascos. Al modo Campaña creo que le falta algo, no se el qué, tal vez una de esas misiones que te dejan con cara de "soy el amo" y te marcan de por vida. Aún así, tengo que decir que en la última casi por primera vez usé las órdenes del compañero, porque todas las anteriores las hice al estilo Juan Palomo.

Ahora solo me queda disfrutar online.

Sin esperarlo, me encontré con la salida de Madden NFL 07 en Estados Unidos, y en seguida hice todo lo posible por "conseguir" este juego de fútbol americano.

A priori, en los menús no encontraba nada interesante con respecto a la edición del año pasado, por lo que rápidamente pase a la pantalla de partido rápido. Jugué una reedición de la Superbow XL (Seahawks y Steelers). La verdad es que en el primer partido apenas encontré novedades interesantes, la única que los jugadores emitían el típico aire blanco porque hacía frío. Pero era tarde y tenía que acostarme.

Hoy jugué un Patriots - Eagles. Me dí cuenta de que a nivel jugable había algunas novedades (no muy importantes). Por ejemplo, parece que ha mejorado algo la IA. Al menos, ahora los jugadores controlados por la CPU (y los míos) tienen algo de sentido común y aseguran más las jugadas, como los fumbles o los retornos de un punt, haciendo el juego más real.

Y esto es todo por ahora, hoy seguiré probando el juego, los modos Dinastía, Superstar y todo eso. Os dejo con unas imágenes del partido de hoy (que por cierto gané).

Por qué será, que siempre que vuelvo de unas vacaciones me entran ganas de retomar esto del blog, y pienso que a partir de ahora escribiré mucho y todos los días.

Si hablo de videojuegos, la realidad es que sólo en el PC me encuentro con 11 juegos y pienso que es imposible que algún día me los pase todos. Y los que tengo por instalar sin probar...

En el territorio consolas, yo que me imaginaba con la PS3 a la vuelta de la esquina, y ahora resulta que nos la retrasan en Europa hasta marzo. A seguir con la PS2 se ha dicho.

Y hablando de PSP, me encuentro con 7 juegos originales y actualizando cada vez que sale un nuevo firmware, qué legal soy. Total, para los pocos juegos que me interesan del catálogo de la negrita, me los compro.

Por cierto, tengo móvil nuevo, un Sony Ericsson k608i. Así que, por ahora, adiós N-Gage.
