Yup, that's blood on the wall. Good thing Eagle Vision reveals blood.
Just finished Assassin's Creed today. Clocked in at 22-23 hours (Steam says 22.3 hours). I was warned before hand of the disappointing and cliffhanger ending, but I was still taken aback by how unfulfilling it was as a game and as a story. It didn't help that I was frustrated at the dodge-y semi-automated nature of the platforming systems that caused me to mess crucial hand holds and ladders. In the end, the game was unfulfilled potential, the general opinion I've gathered from reviews and discussion. Still it is a beautiful game to look at and I eagerly await the PC version of Assassin's Creed 2.
Remnants and Zombies.
Oh Steam, you will be forever be the fire in my wallet. The Last Remnant was on sale for $10 as a midweek sale and I took advantage of it. Having greatly enjoyed the demo of the game a while back, I was waiting for an opportunity to purchase it.
While I was on a spending mood, I decided to get The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned for Borderlands (PC). Why? Because I needed more Borderlands!

If that's what's in the Vault, I'm not sure if I want to go in!
Just finished my first playthrough of Borderlands clocking at a bit more than 28 hours. As I was warned before hand, the ending was a disappointment, but I enjoyed the "No Heaven" song that played during the credits. I might start a new character, but I feel much more strongly about maxing out the level of my Berzerker. Hmm, maybe I'll get the Zombie Island DLC.
Black 4 Border 2
Ah, it's that time for Americans to do their economic/capitalistic duty and shop. I bought Left 4 Dead 2 from GameStop for $30 which is the same price I got Left 4 Dead for. I can't wait to install it and play around with the new melee weapons. Also, Borderlands was on sale at Amazon for $20. I couldn't pass on a first-person loot shooter for that price. Now, I just have to wait for it to arrive.
Creed Tenet #1: Don't kill innocents. Whoops!
Oh dear, I better control my impulses.
Shelled out five bucks for Assassin's Creed on Steam and played it for a little bit. It certainly is a beautiful game, though the story has a hokey start. Something about genetic memory doesn't sit well with me. I've read reviews that label the game as the first big disappointment for this generation and I'm eager to see why. For sure, this game is simpler than I expected. I guess I should have figured that since this is a console oriented game and not some complex behemoth like ArmA II.

Death comes quicker from the soul.
After a long wait, Demon's Souls arrived in the mail yesterday through a heavy rain. I have yet to play it myself, but I did watch a friend sink in a few hours in. So many deaths in so little time. My friend looked like he was enjoying himself, but I definitely could see some rage from gathering frustration and annoyance. This game looks to be so harsh in its punishments than any other new game on the market. I can hardly wait to subject myself to it!
Squad 7, move out!
I recently came in to borrowing a Playstation 3 from a friend for an extended period of time. I dove right in to this opportunity and bought Valkyria Chronicles to play. So far, I'm loving the art and the setting of the game. Also, the English voice overs aren't too shabby. I can't wait to progress in to the game and gain access to the tank, additional classes, and special orders.
Killing, Smuggling, Selling
Grand Theft Auto 4 (PC) has been discounted to US$29.99 at a nearby Fry's Electronics and that was too good to pass on. After waiting a for the near half hour install to finish up, I fired up the game and got Niko Bellic off the Platypus. After twenty hours into the game, I can say I'm enjoying my time in Liberty City. The more realistic angle of GTA IV is rubbing me the right way and I'm enjoying the friends gameplay (mostly because of the dialog). It takes some time getting used to health kit hoarding again after so many games with regenerative health.
Lastly, I love that little cellphone. So many useful things come from it.

U Damage for all
I forgot to update my collection with my recent purchase of Unreal Tournament 3 for the PC. I couldn't pass up that sweet Steam deal to have the game for only $12. So far, I'm really liking the pretty graphics and the fast hit scan shooting. Sadly, I've run in to some game lock ups with my Core 2 Quad 9300, ATI Radeon HD 4870, and 4 Gigs of RAM rig. Maybe I should opted for an nVidia card? Oh well, hopefully there will be a fix soon.
Power up!
Snagging Left 4 Dead on sale was a good precursor to building my first PC rig. Things were a bit stressful at times, but the assembling went off well and the computer is running fine. The difference in quality from my laptop with a 1.86 Ghz Pentium M and 128 MB Mobility Radeon x300 to my new rig with a Q9300 Core 2 Quad and a 512 MB Radeon HD 4870 is jaw dropping. While I spent a bit more then I would've liked and getting an Xbox 360 would've been far much less of a hassle, I am very happy so far.
Hopefully, nothing will break down in the next few years and I will be able to enjoy (when I get them) Crysis Warhead, FarCry 2, and Fallout 3 for a long time.

Ride the rhythm
I took advantage of the $4.99 weekend special and bought AudioSurf from Steam. I've played around with this game before and I couldn't skip buying it at such a low price. It will be a nice little game to have and I can't wait to play my music in it. I exclusivly play with the Mono characters as the puzzle ones seem to be a bit beyond me.
Summer Heat
As a heat wave rolls over my area, I sought air-conditioned refuge in my local library and GameStop.
On an impulse buy, I picked up Monster Hunter Freedom 2 for US$18. Not too bad since I've been meaning to have another try at the game. I'm up for it after spending a ton of time in Armored Core: Formula Front.

Triple Raid
A recent trip overseas has net me a cache of PSP games to content my heart. They are Loco Roco, Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords, and Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception. These three games are sure to give me many hours of handheld gaming delight.
Quad Rush
In a spree of budget spending, my buddy and I shelled out cash for four Xbox games: Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, MechAssault 2: Lone Wolf, and Forza Motorsport. Heh, shooters and racing - all an Xbox user needs.
Unreal Championship 2 has been a bit more difficult to get in to then I thought. The acrobatics and melee are throwing me in a loop. Substance is something I already played but wish to keep. MechAssault 2 is more of the same and that's okay. Forza Motorsport is great and is making me warm up to racing simulators.

Time to split!
At a very cool $10, I bought Timesplitters: Future Perfect for the Xbox on a whim today. I've played Timesplitters 2 before and had a good time with it. However, I had a few quibbling issues with the game. Luckly, it looks like Future Perfect mends most of them. Hmm, maybe I'll pick up Unreal Championship 2 as well in the near future.
Super Traveler
Ah, understanding the concept of love was lovely, if a bit shallower then I expected.
After that, I dived right into Brave Story: New Traveler for the PSP. 45+ hours later and I came out mildly entertained. Oh well, shouldn't have expected much out of a jRPG that tied to a kids movie. Much love for Yuno and Meladee.
Oh, almost forgot about the two new downloadable tracks for Burnout: Dominator (PSP). The tropical city and the downtown one are pretty wide and full of long turns ripe for drifting. Very neat extras for the little package.

Understand, Understand
A trip to EB Games has allowed me to snag up acopyof the Sega GT 2002 and Jet Set Radio Future on-one disc for the Xbox for a very low $1.99. Now I can finally understand the concept of love.
C-C-C-C-CRASHbreaker
On an impulse that looks like I won't regret, I put down some exact change at a EB Games counter for a copy of Burnout: Dominator for the Playstation Portable. There's no Crash Mode this time, but I would give anything to have Boost Chaining back and returned it has! Ah, such a glorious feeling to rocket down roads at a reckless speed with blue flame jetting out your exhaust pipe. It's life itself!
The graphics are disturbingly grainy on the PSP, but I guess that's the price to pay for having traffic and crashes. Sadly, there seems to be framerate hitches in races at times where there are 2+ opponent cars, your car, and traffic. While disappointing, they are managable.
Alright, back to the burn!

Pretty Metallic Blue
Though the 1-year warranty probably won't work out for me, I managed to snag a very cool Metallic Blue PlayStation Portable from Hong Kong. It looks nice and I got Ridge Racer 2 with it.
Now, time to look for deals on a big Memory Stick Pro DUO.
PS:
Also, bought the neat Yggdra Union for the Game Boy Advance. I'm not much for strategy games, but this was simple enough for me to enjoy.
PPS:
Skies of Arcadia: Legends GET! It's preowned, but I can't complain about that at this point.

Into the Twilight...
After three failed attempts at various stores, I've finally been able to snag a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for the Nintendo Gamecube. A last hurrah for the system and it's finally mine!
Hmm, that should be if for my Gamecube unless I manage to snatch a copy of Skies of Arcadia: Legends.
