Hey guys, I'm back!

So long since my last post, so much has happened anyways. I won't get to it all but I got a bunch of new games yesterday as a Christmas gift (I'll tell you why I got them so early). I got Football Manager 2010, The Witcher EE, L4D2, Dragon Age: Origins (these for PC), MW2, and Halo 3: ODST for 360 and I'll probably get one more game. I can't play MW2 or ODST because I had to send in my 360 because the drive laser wouldn't read anything and I got these games early because I have to go to China on the 15th...

So I'm back, and I'll try to blog more, even though I've said this for a while but this time I mean it.

Updated Update

Well I can play games again, the bet that I mentioned is over. She was quite surprised that I lasted the week. The first thing I did was play some Counter Strike Source, which is awesome! I played a couple of rounds with the bots, then I moved up to playing with real people in which I had some great fun.

Anyways, I continued my Empire Total War campaign with Prussia on Very Hard. I was having a nice game, having a nice, quick and easy war with Poland-Lithuania to capture Warsaw because it was a region included in the victory conditions. As soon as that is over, France, who I had good relations with, invades me through my controlled areas of Rhineland, and Wurttemberg. They are lost and I quickly garrison my regions, and sent one of my two professional armies in from Poland to drive the French out. The other professional army needed to stay in Poland for a couple more turns in order to grab a peace treaty, which it did. After that, the second army was sent to attack France. Meanwhile France had gained Hannover and Bavaria. The first army re-captured Bavaria, but at the same time the French captured Saxony, although the second army quickly laid siege to that. Hannover, and Wurttemberg rebelled against the French and regained their soverneignty. France has set me back about 20-30 turns... Great fun!

PENS WON THE STANLEY CUP! Wow, I know this is a bit late, but I just forgot to update this. Anyways it was a great Game Seven, and Fleury came up big in the last second against Lidstrom. Also, Max Talbot had a great game and I do feel sorry for Hossa. Still sort of upset it wasn't the Canucks this year, but oh well.

Back again... I need to get more active here.

Well my last blog which was a LONG LONG time ago promised that I would be more active on here. Well its kind of been the opposite but oh well. A lot has gone on since I was last on here so I'll explain it all in this blog.

New Games!

I have gotten a couple of new games, Rock Band 2, Counter Strike: Source, and WoW: WotLK namely. Rock Band 2, I have been loving since I have gotten it back in May. Currently I only play on the hard difficulty on Guitar, but I'm working up to expert. CS:S was gifted to me via Steam, I am not able to play it yet (I'll explain later). WotLK was also bought to me by a friend, although I don't intend to start playing just yet, maybe in a couple of months. I did however sign in and check out some of the new changes, and I can say that I will probably love it when I start playing again. Don't ask for my server or account name.

What I have been playing.

Well I have been playing loads of Rock Band 2, Empire: Total War, and Medieval II: Total War on the Stainless Steel mod. I even dusted off my old Rome: Total War to have a go at, but I would rather play M2:TW or E:TW. So in the last paragraph, I mentioned that I couldn't play any games yet. This isn't due to too much school work, or my computer not being up to the test. Its actually sort of a bet. One of my friends said that I play games way too much, she commented that I played 421 hours of Empire since I got it back on the Canadian release date of March 6th. I agree that it is a bit much so I have promised her that I would stop playing games of any sort for a week - June 2nd to June 9th. I am so bored right now.

Youtube can go to hell.

Why do I say this? You all know that I have a Youtube account (Its in my banner if you want to know) and I had gotten about 170ish subscribers through hard work of making videos. Well suddenly I get a warning from Youtube about copyright infringement off of one of my videos from some no name musician by the name of "Musician of Universal Asian Mixer Dj Armz". Not only is it a stupid name, I have never heard of this guy. Also, after a short look of his songs, I have never used any of his songs. Before being able to make a counter-DMCA claim, I get suspended. Now I have made along with my brother, Bravo189 a new Youtube account, CanuckFilms which is a reference to us being Canadian and our favourite hockey team, the Vancouver Canucks. Check it out please.

The Stanley Cup Finals!

Now since I'm Canadian, I love hockey! I was rooting for the Canucks this year like I do every other year, and I was absolutely heart-broken when they lost to the Blackhawks 4-2 in the series. I live in Toronto (Toronto is my second favourite team), so watching their games aren't easy because of a three hour difference. However I stayed up to watch every single second of that series, even that disastrous Game Six where we lost 7-5. It was a great game, and I am not going to blame Luongo (our goalie) for letting in 7 on 30 shots. He had an offnight when we needed him, but without him, we wouldn't have gotten to where we did in the first place. Next year will be the year, or the next, or the next. I'm used to my teams, Vancouver and Toronto, not winning anything.

Anyways, I don't want Detroit winning another cup, so for the Finals I'll be pulling for the Penguins. Game Four tonight! Thats it for my blog.

Been a while.

Its been a while since I've last posted a blog post, mainly the reasons are that I have had a lot going on at school, work to do etc. so this post will catch all of you up to speed on what I've been playing.

First off, EMPIRE TOTAL WAR! I got this game last Friday as soon as my local Futureshop got it and I have to say it is the best strategy game I have played in my life (Granted that I haven't played each and single RTS, RTT, TBS, etc.) My computer handles this thing pretty well on Medium, but I have decided to upgrade parts such as my 8600GT up to a 260GTX+, change my 3GB RAM to a new 4GB set, and upgrade my PSU to a couple hundred more Watts. Soon after I'll build a brand new one, because those upgrades will be temporary. Heres' a screenie, granted its from the demo but who cares:

The game only has a few glitches and bugs that are quite annoying, but Creative Assembly said they are getting a patch to this game this week. Other than that, EXCELLENCE!

It would also seem that I have leveled up on Gamespot to 31 - Ippon which is some sort of Japanese martial arts score.

Thats it for now. Time to get addicted to Empire again. Back in a year or so (Exaggeration or not?).

Level 30: Wicked Sick, and 2009 anticipated games

So I haven't posted a blog in a while because I have been pretty busy at school. Anyways I have now reached level 30, which is Wicked Sick!. I'm pretty sure that this is a line in Unreal Tournament for 30 kills straight with no deaths.

Now that that's out of the way, 2009 has a lot of great games that are coming up, so I thought I would create a list that would tell you guys which games I'm looking forward to the most.

1. Empire: Total War

Developer: Creative Assembly (Published by Sega)

Release Date: March 3rd, 2009.

After playing a hell load of Medieval II: Total War, and it's expansion; Kingdoms plus watching/reading numerous previews and gameplay videos, I can safely say that this is going to be the game that I will be playing for a long time. The land battles have been improved, and the new feature of fully three dimensional naval battles is going to be awesome. I hope they tone up the A.I, and make Diplomacy actually work, unlike in the predecessor; Medieval II.

My PC can handle M2:TW at max settings, so I can probably get away with low-medium settings on this game. I'll probably upgrade my graphics card to get this to run better, but I don't care as long as I can play this thing.

Platform: PC

2. Killzone 2

Developer: Guerrilla Games (Publisher: SCEA)

Release Date: February 27th, 2009.

Platform: PS3

Hey, I have been waiting for this thing since 2005, and its finally going to come out this year. I loved the first Killzone, had hours on end of fun on it despite it's technical flaws. I really hope Guerrilla makes this one good, because of the time and resources they had to work with. I don't have a PS3 yet, but I still hope this thing does really well.

3. Halo 3: ODST

Developer: Bungie Software (Publisher: Microsoft Game Studios)

Release Date: Q4 2009.

Platform: Xbox 360

Everyone knows I love Halo right? So its a no brainer that I put it on my list here. I can't wait to see how Bungie approaches this game because you no longer play as Master Chief so bye bye Spartan shields.

4. StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty

Developer: Blizzard Entertainment (Publisher: Blizzard Entertainment)

Release Date: TBA

Platform: PC

Now I'm not sure if this is coming out this year or not, but as a RTS gamer, I am definitely looking forward to the next installment of the StarCraft series. I have loved the first StarCraft, and the similar Warcraft(RTS) games. Hopefully they give us a rich campaign because they did split it into three parts.

5. Diablo III

Developer: Blizzard Entertainment (Publisher: Activision Blizzard)

Release Date: TBA

Platform: PC

Hopefully Diablo III comes out this year as well, because I am definitely looking forward to this. Some of the gameplay that Blizzard showed us looks pretty good. Now if they would only tell us when it would come out...

Other Noteworthy Mentions:

Halo Wars(X360)

CoD: MW2(Multi-platform)

CoH: ToV(PC)

FEAR 2: Project Origin(Multi-platform)

Thats it for this blog, and thanks for reading if you have read it.

About Me

Hey everyone! FPS_Gamer here, but I'm not just a FPS_Gamer. I enjoy other genres such as action adventure, RPG but more Sci-Fi RPG, and I don't really find JRPGs appealing. I have an Xbox 360, so add my Gamertag. I also have a PC, so that means I have a Xfire, and a Steam Account. All those details are available in my blog header.
